This is the Canadian Y&R day ahead recap from the Tuesday, June 15, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Wednesday, June 16. In the previous episode, Amanda quit Sutton’s case, and in today’s episode, Naya threatened Amanda, Kyle thinks Ashland’s a liar, and Victoria doesn’t like how Billy’s behaving.
At Crimson Lights, Billy asks how New York was. She felt she accomplished a lot. She got his message. He comments that she didn’t respond. Why would she? She didn’t like that it bothered her that he left a cryptic one and doesn’t get why it bothers him that she was with Ashland. He tells her Ash is in the midst of a messy divorce. She knows. Billy worries about their kids being exposed. Victoria would never do that. She thinks Billy liked the idea that she was pining for him. “It was a real ego boost.” He tells her about Johnny asking if he and Lily were married and he told him no, but that they were in love. Victoria is surprised. He’s trying to be transparent. Billy’s still worried about her and doesn’t want her to be hurt. She shrugs. It wouldn’t be the first time.
At the Abbott home, Tara asks why Ashland was motivated to allow Kyle to be a part of Harrison’s life. Ash thinks she asks too many questions. Did it have to do with Victoria Newman? Ashland is offended and doesn’t think his personal business is her concern. He reveals she’s getting an awful lot of money and he had to adjust his will. She asks if Harrison is in it. “He’s not my flesh and blood.” Kyle juts his chin out and says it doesn’t matter. He’s an Abbott, “And we take care of our own.” Harrison comments that he sees himself in Harrison, not Kyle. Tara thanks Kyle for promising to support Harrison. He tells her to go ahead and make plans. “Maybe if you’re lucky you’ll get more than six months to live them out.” Tara and Kyle look baffled. Ashland reveals he has six months to live and gives her the prognosis. Kyle doesn’t believe him. “What would I have to gain?” Ash asks. Tara asks if he’s sure and if there’s treatment. Ash tells her to stop and just focus on Harrison. “And you can forget about trying to kill me off before the divorce is finalized,” he says because she’s out of his will. Tara gets up. How can he joke about this. He talks about her not inheriting a dime. Tara tells him no matter what, she cares about him. Ashland doubts that. If she cared, she wouldn’t have cheated. He didn’t share his news for sympathy. He just wants to be with Harrison. He has something critically important to ask of them. He asks them to keep this quiet. He wants to tell Harrison in his own way. They agree. He goes and Kyle still thinks Ashland’s lying. Tara doesn’t think so. Kyle asks if this changes anything. Does she want to try to repair things with Ash? She denies that. She’s only concerned with Harrison who will be devastated.
Lily drops by Society and thanks Devon for the musical gifts for Johnny and Katie. Amanda tells her she quit Sutton’s case. Now that she has, she doesn’t need to keep things quiet. She tells Lily about her grandfather and the situation. Lily says it sounds frustrating. Amanda’s desperate to unravel the mystery. Lily offers her back her old job but she’s not sure she’s ready. Amanda likes the liberty of criminal defense. She may consider going down this road into private practice.

From The Grand Phoenix, Eric calls Sally to tell her that he’s recommending Summer for the job in Italy. Is she ready to go ahead now? She glances up and sees Summer depart the elevator. She needs time to set it up first. She thanks him and they disconnect. Sally continues a fake conversation and asks them to ensure they call if something else becomes available. “Ciao.” She turns to Summer and tells her Marchetti didn’t give her the job. Someone in L.A. badmouthed her. “Sounds like karmic justice,” Summer says. Sally lies that Summer’s name came up. Did she trash talk her? Summer denies it. Sally admits her name came up and they were interested in her. Summer gloats and wanders away.
At Newman, Victoria looks up Ashland’s cancer, but before she can read about it, Nikki appears and asks how New York was. Victoria makes her promise not to judge and Victoria admits it didn’t get too serious with Ashland. They had good meals, cocktails and good discussion. She calls him a lovely companion. Nikki admits Victor knows about her trip. Victoria guesses she has to brace herself for a lecture. Nikki admits he didn’t seem to be against the idea at all. Victoria assumes he’s just happy she’s not with Billy. Nikki goes and Ashland calls Victoria and charms her into lunch.

At the office, Lily tells Billy about Amanda’s family and how bad she feels. Billy’s sad too and upset that she’s not returning to their company, but she has his support. He hopes she finds all the happiness she looks for. Lily decides it’s time to get back to work. They talk business and she brings up Victoria dating Locke. Billy is trying to keep a level head about the story on Locke. He’ll talk to Kyle and see if they should cover it.
At Grand Phoenix, Imani jumps on Amanda. Sutton is really upset. He feels disrespected. Amanda shrugs it off. He’ll land on his feet. Imani says his defense is in shambles. Amanda points out he should have thought of that before he fired her. They agree he’s stubborn and controlling and Amanda won’t cater to someone who wanted her discarded and forgotten. She’ll still pursue this and snipes that nothing will stop her from getting to the truth. Amanda’s surprised Imani’s sticking around town. She wants to get to know Amanda. “I am not hating the idea of having a sister anymore.” Amanda looks skeptical. They sit near each other and discuss Imani’s spoiled background. She admits her childhood was lonesome. Her potential friends were vetted and their parents’ checked out who they voted for politically. Amanda finds it hard to drum up caring. She laughs and Imani begins to laugh as well. Things thaw a little, but Amanda still doesn’t trust Imani. Imani’s offended and takes off. Once Amanda goes, Imani attacks Devon, calling his girlfriend rude, just like Hilary. Devon doesn’t like her badmouthing his wife or girlfriend. Imani babbles and asks, “What family does she have left?” Upstairs, Naya warns Amanda that she doesn’t want Sutton Ames for an enemy. She can’t just walk away from this. Naya threatens, “For your own wellbeing, you need to stick to the case.” Amanda smirks. “Seriously? Is that a threat?”
Back at the Abbott mansion, Kyle and Tara are worried for Harrison. “I’ll do whatever it takes to get Harrison through this,” Kyle assures Tara. “Uh get through what?” Summer says, having walked in on their conversation. She tells him that Kyle agreed to help her move to Genoa City. Summer’s skeptical.
Ashland and Victoria sit on opposite sofas at Society. He reveals he told Tara and Kyle about dying. It’s hard to think about not raising Harrison. There’s so much he wanted to teach him. “Time flies when you’re dying,” he says, causing Victoria to question how he can joke about it. “Defense mechanism?” he says.
Once alone, Sally texts Tara to meet. She promises it’ll be a good thing for her. Tara takes off, lying to Summer and Kyle about running errands for Harrison. Once she’s gone, Summer asks for the truth. Kyle admits Ash is dying. Summer is shocked and feels awful for Harrison.
Back in her office, Victoria asks Ash what will happen to Locke Communications Group. He hasn’t given it thought yet. She thinks he should look into treatment so he can have time to figure that out. She looked into treatments. He has too and doesn’t want to discuss it. He wants being with her to be an illness-free zone. She smiles. She asks him to kiss her.
