In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Jack informs his family that Diane is alive, Phyllis repeats to Amanda that she and Jack are just friends, and Adam bickers with his sister. In the previous episode, Nikki was furious with Victoria and Adam offered Locke money to leave town.

In Victoria’s office at Newman-Locke, her family demand to know if she has cut ties with Ashland and if she still has feelings for him.
She admits her feelings for him won’t go away overnight, even after learning of what he’s done. Those feelings don’t matter, she insists; it’s his crimes against her and the family that matter.
Nikki thinks her plan to get rid of him are falling apart. Victor can see that Locke has been testing her loyalty. If he even gets a hint of their plan, they need to rethink it.
Victoria is adamant that she can handle this herself and her plan is solid. She can’t believe they still don’t trust her. She suggests that her husband could just be conflicted, not skeptical.
Victor grudgingly admits that. Nikki reminds him that he can be ruthless and loving simultaneously. He insists this is different and Locke is a “complete narcissist.” Locke has been using her and will toss her away.
Her father urges her not to question her plan now. Victoria doesn’t like them telling her how to feel and accuses them of doubting her ability to make good decisions. She needs time away from them to think about this.
After she walks out, Nick apologizes if he came on too strong. His mom says they said what needed to he said. Once he leaves, Victor says he will be sticking around. Nikki is sure their daughter will calm down once she has processed things.
Sally gets coffee at Crimson Lights as Adam heads out to the patio with Ashland. Adam offers him half a billion to walk away from Victoria and Newman-Locke. He could buy himself an island or build an empire. It would also give him a drama-free exit.
Locke says taking such a deal could be interpreted as an admission of guilt. Adam tells him to stop pretending to be innocent. He should get paid and get out of this with his reputation intact.
Locke accuses him of making this offer for self-interested reasons, suggesting he’s angling to take over the company. Adam insists his motivations don’t matter. Ashland asks if Victor knows he’s making the offer.
If his father chose that number, it’s a bit cruel… to Adam. It’s the same amount of money Victor was forced to pay his other children when he was sued over their trusts, money Adam didn’t get.
He keeps pressing this as Adam forces a smile and blinks, claiming he is doing fine. Ashland taunts him about having to constantly prove himself to Victor. Adam suggests he stop analyzing this.
Adam doesn’t want to drag this out. He has one hour to make the deal or good luck on surviving what comes next.
Adam and Sally go to Society. She’s surprised that Ashland didn’t snatch up his offer and says he’s handled this masterfully. He spots his sister drinking at the bar and sends Sally to get a table.
When Adam joins his sister, he tells her that if Ashland is planning to frame him, he’s moving at a snail’s pace. Victoria says there may be a change in plans. That doesn’t go over well.
He accuses his sister of treating him as a lesser being and screwing up her own plan. It must suck for her to discover she can’t control the world. She insists she done more than he will ever dream of and he’s just a failure.
After Victoria has exited, he and Sally discuss what a “dumpster fire” his sister’s plan has been. He’s happy he hatched his own plan. She wonders how his father will feel about it. He says he won’t have to know if it fails.
Ashland returns to Newman-Locke and faces Nikki and Victor. He wants to discuss the offer Adam just made. Victor confirms it is legit. Locke tells him that it is the same number he offered to all his children other than Adam.
Victor laughs when he asks him how he can be so cruel to his own son. He demands to know if he is accepting the offer. He is stunned by his gall in coming back to the office.
Victoria wanders in. Her husband explains that Adam, and maybe her father, just offered him a lot of money to walk away. Is it time for them both to move on? She looks in his eyes and nearly cries.

Jack and Phyllis arrive at The Grand Phoenix. She wishes there were more she could do for him. He can hardly believe how much she has done already.
He’s not looking forward to telling Kyle his mom is alive. This is not a situation he never thought he was going to be in. She gives him a hug.
He feels bad that Diane ruined his trip to get to know Allie. Phyllis points out he made some progress with her and Diane can’t ruin that. Billy sends him a text asking what happened.
Jack asks for luck. He’s about to tell his family everything.
Amanda drops by to see Phyllis and they chat about her latest trip to LA. Phyllis says it definitely was not fun, just one revelation after another. “Intense” doesn’t even begin to describe it.
The lawyer digs into her connection with Jack. Phyllis says what he’s going through is profound and she’s had to act as the voice of reason. She insists they are just friends. That’s what both of them need.
Amanda thinks they need a spa day. Phyllis has work she needs to catch up on but she gets talked into it.
At the Abbott estate, Ashley catches Traci spying out the window and starts teasing her. They recall how she used to wait like that when they were kids. Traci is anxious to see Jack and hear about his trip to see Allie.
Billy joins them. Jack arrives and tells them how happy he is to see them. They should do this more often.
He tells them how lovely Allie is and how much she reminds him of Ashley. He’s sure they will hit it off. But before he can explain more about her…
Jack announces that the identity of his mysterious texter is someone no one thought possible: Diane Jenkins. They are shocked into momentary silence. He saw her and talked to her more than once.
Skipping over the impossibility of this, Jack explains that she wanted to bring him together with Allie to get leverage with Kyle. He needs to tell his son his mother is alive so he’s asked him to come home so he can break the news.
Traci worries about what this will do to him. Billy needs more of an explanation for this situation. “How is this bitch back in our lives?” Ashley adds.
Jack explains that she faked her death with the help of Deacon Sharpe. He was filled with rage seeing her face to face and has not forgotten anything she did to him. Ashley hasn’t forgotten anything she did to her either.
Even Traci hates Diane. Billy hopes there is some sort of plan to deal with this.
Jack says Diane claims she wants to make amends with Kyle. Phyllis helped him see that it should be his son’s choice. She has kept him grounded when he needed it the most.
“Grounded” isn’t something anyone associates with Phyllis. He worries about what Diane will do and wants to warn his son about her dark side. All he can do is give him all the facts.
Billy wonders if this means Diane is coming back to Genoa City. Ashley wants her kept out of town.
Diane checks into the Grand Phoenix and announces she will be staying there for a while.
