In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Kevin comes up with evidence to prove Locke wasn’t driving his car the night he died, Phyllis starts her job, and Tessa isn’t sure about the job offer until Sharon hashes it out with her.
In the previous episode, Sally agreed to let Elena out of her contract, and Nate made a deal behind Devon’s back, while later, Elena read Nate the riot act about Imani.

At the ranch, Nikki and Nick discuss Victor’s machinations in keeping the truth about how Locke actually died from the police. Nick is sore that his father just took charge when it was an accident.
Nikki shrugs it off.
Ashland wasn’t a good guy anyway. Victor interrupts. He doesn’t want to talk to his son about what he did. Nick gets a call about some deal and has to take the call. He tells “Mark” he’s not changing the terms of some deal and after he disconnects, Victor admits he’s impressed with his son.
He’s able to work and deal with personal issues.
Nick thanks his father, who hopes his usual righteous indignation doesn’t interfere in the future.
At Society, Summer and Phyllis finish a delicious meal. They discuss Phyllis’ new job and she intends to make an impact right out of the gate.
Summer wants her mom to flourish.
She asks her once again to stay away from Diane. Phyllis plans on making this a long-lasting endeavor.
She won’t let “any back-from-the-dead zombie trash” ruin it for her. Summer’s glad but seems conflicted.
At Crimson Lights, Kevin shows a video to Chance of someone behind the wheel of Ashland’s car.
He’s smoking a cigarette and it’s not Locke! Ashland’s car was at that gas station and one of Victor’s bodyguards is a smoker.
They take off to see if it’s enough. 
Inside, Mariah and Faith return from a big shopping expedition for Faith’s dorm room. Tessa appears. She can talk a little!
Everyone’s thrilled. Faith’s ready to show her all the things she bought to decorate her dorm room.
Tessa’s excited. Mariah lets them know she’s head of PR at Marchetti now. She’s running marketing and publicity.
Sharon congratulates her. Faith calls it more work.
They talk about Diane Jenkins working there and Mariah finds it odd getting emails from Kyle’s mom. It’s weird but she’s doing a good job. Mariah has to get back to work. Tessa wishes she could hang for a while longer now that she can talk.
Mariah thinks she should use the time to consider Kyle and Summer’s offer. She asks her to leave a bite of ice cream. “No promises,” Tessa says. Mariah goes and Faith details what all she purchased. It’s all boring stuff to organize.
Sharon’s glad for Mariah’s influence and is proud of her kid.
Moses texts so the kid takes off and Tessa asks if Sharon’s okay. She’s excited about Faith but it’ll take getting used to being alone.
She asks how Tessa is. Tessa’s afraid she won’t recover and will never sing again. Sharon thinks it’s normal to feel fear. Tessa talks about Mariah going behind her back to talk to Summer and Kyle about getting her a job as a Brand Ambassador.
Sharon loved doing that, years ago and is excited for her. Tessa thinks it sounds like a dream job for someone. She worries it’s a sympathy job. Sharon says if she didn’t have the right look, they never would have approached her. Tessa sees the point.
She agrees her fans could bring a desirable demographic to Marchetti. Sharon thinks it’s brilliant. Tessa smiles. It starts to sound more appealing.
She thanks Sharon for the discussion, which helped and goes upstairs to eat pomegranate ice cream. Nick and Nikki show up and she learns that Nick told Sharon everything. She’s not pleased.

Diane and Jack watch Harrison play at Chancellor Park.
They talk about all of the toys she bought him that Jack has to take back to his car and Jack runs to see what the kid is up to when Kyle appears.
Jack returns and Kyle comments that it’s weird having his kid’s grandparents together.
Jack goes to say goodbye to Harrison and takes off.
Abby brings Victoria some lunch from Society. They embrace.
Abby worries about her big sister. Victoria’s sorry she hasn’t been around but she’s hanging in there.
She’s forced on the kids. With Ashland gone, she admits she feels like she can breathe again.
Abby’s sorry for what he put her through.
Victoria asks if she knows what happened that night. She details the long story to her sister and becomes emotional, saying Locke was furious.
If Nicholas didn’t show up she believes she’d be dead. Abby’s thrown. Victoria asks why Chance can’t put a stop to the investigation. Abby’s sorry.
Victoria says they were honest with what happened and want it behind them. Can Abby make him understand?
At the ranch, Chance shows Ashland’s rental vehicle to Victor on the security footage Kevin snagged for him. He says to look at the driver. His face isn’t visible but he’s a smoker and it’s not Ashland. He asks if the man looks familiar.
Victor says no, but Chance points out it’s the same brand of cigarette that his security detail smokes. Victor tries to cover it up. They probably frequent that gas station all the time. “What is it you want me to say?” He thinks his son-in-law is a good cop but why is he wasting his time?
Chance is uncovering the truth. It’s no waste of time. Victor says, so what if he gave the impression that Locke died elsewhere to protect his kids? Abby faced something similar when Chance was overseas.
Chance calls that irrelevant.
Victor asks, “What if your wife killed Stitch to protect her own life and your unborn child? What if I stepped in?” He asks what Chance would have done if he had covered that up. Chance doesn’t want to deal with hypotheticals and raises his voice. He is dealing with facts, here.
Victor says he needs to develop more loyalty. He shows him the door and texts the family to meet him at the ranch.
Kyle and Diane arrive at Jabot to see Phyllis and Summer.
It’s awkward between Diane and Phyllis but Phyllis tries to make light of it. Mariah arrives, surprised to see everyone together.
She congratulates Phyllis when she gets her bearings and Diane seconds the congrats. They all try to pretend it’s not really awkward and Mariah takes Diane off to work. Later, Phyllis signs some papers and becomes an employee.
They leave her in her office and she sends Nikki and Ashley a text that she just signed and is in.
Chance paces the park, deep in thought.
Nick and Nikki rush into the ranch with Vicky. Victor tells them Chance has some game-changing information about Locke’s death. Nick worries if he can prove anything.
