In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Adam asks Sally if she has considered taking him back, Phyllis lies to Jack, and taunts Diane, while Kyle wants to remarry Summer. In the previous episode, Victor wanted Nick to fire Sally, and Tessa and Mariah were crushed at their bad news about adopting.

At home, Kyle tells Traci he and Summer are having a wedding in Genoa City. He’s keeping it secret from his bride.
Traci’s super excited and they start talking about NHL sports when Summer comes down the stairs.
She can tell they have a secret and says Harrison’s working on his dinosaur puzzle. Summer knows Traci has no interest in sports and asks what’s going on.
Traci covers and they share a laugh. Summer assumes they were discussing the slam article on Diane.
Kyle doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Traci does and leaves them to talk while Summer fills in her husband. Kyle thinks his mother must be mortified.
Nick finds Adam at Dive Bar and asks if he’s playing hooky. Adam asks how his brother is dealing with the Ashland situation.
Nick claims he is over Locke’s death but Adam says he thinks he must have issues sleeping.
He should talk to a therapist. Nick knows Adam gets it because of what he faced as a kid.
Adam thinks if he had help, his life would have been different. He asks him to get Sharon to find a therapist. Nick’s not ready.
Talia, Nikki and Phyllis have coffee and talk about how incredible Talia’s hatchet job was.
Diane will crumble and not be able to deal with public scrutiny. She assumes Diane will go home with her tail between her legs.
Nikki asks how the article has done and Talia says it’s blown her away and they’ve gotten tips from L.A.
She’ll follow up with them. She gets a text and her managing editor says that the story was killed. She’s shocked.
In her suite, Diane gets a text from a mystery person telling her that her story was killed and she owes them one.
Jack appears and she tells him about the toxic article.
Jack saw it and says she can’t be that surprised that a reporter would turn their back on a juicy story.
Diane says she talked about her past and not her redemption. He tells her that her actions were brazenly cruel and no possible spin could alter that.
She knows but it doesn’t do any good to turn the spotlight on it now.
It was written to provoke and punish her. She knows Phyllis and Nikki were behind it.
She wonders how it’s fair or right. Jack says he thought she was ready to face her past.
She has, she says, but this article just hurts her. She tears up and wo tries it’ll color how her coworkers see her.
She also worries it’ll undermine how Kyle sees her.
Jack tries to make light and tells her she’s on the right track and not to let this derail her. She thanks him for the encouragement. P
hyllis appears and Diane yells at her for having Talia dragging her name through the mud.
Phyllis says Talia enjoyed writing about it.
She can see Phyllis is trying to trigger an explosion but she’s wasted her time.
Phyllis claims she doesn’t obsess about Diane.
She is glad the world knows what a vile human Diane is and thinks Talia should win an award for doing a public service.
Kyle walks in as Diane groans in frustration. He approaches her and she cries. He alleviates her stress, telling her he knows she’s changed. She’s grateful.
He tells her she always has his support. They hold hands. Later, he finds Phyllis and invites her to the secret vow renewal for him and Summer. She’s in.
They talk about Summer and Diane.
He doesn’t blame Phyllis for being concerned for her daughter.
Phyllis is glad but says she has been working on it and thinks she has it under control. Jack interrupts.
They discuss some work that impressed him. Kyle agrees with his dad. She’s doing a terrific job.
He goes and Phyllis brings up the vow renewal. Jack’s looking forward to it.
She’s glad their kids are doing well. He asks how much she had to do with the Talia morgan hatchet job.
She says it was all Talia and lies that she had nothing to do with it. Later, she goes to Jack to ask if Marchetti home redecorated the Abbott home or pool house. He loves his home the way it is.
She counters that his stuff is old.
“They’re antiques,” he says. She offers to redo some of it for the show and change it all back when they’re done.
They joke together and Diane appears and eavesdrops as she texts someone that things are precarious and they shouldn’t contact her.

At the park, Abby and Chance picnic. Dominic’s at the zoo with Nanny Louise.
Abby realizes she’s got the wrong picnic. She packed one for Dom and they have apple slices and Goldfish crackers.
They groan but start “chowing down.” They get cozy and make out.
In Sally’s office, Chloe and Sally talk about her forgiving Adam. Chloe scoffs but Sally needs a friend. She’s so confused. Chloe knows.
Adam’s a master at keeping people off balance until he gets what he wants. Sally doesn’t see that. He just seems lost.
Chloe says he is damaged goods and doesn’t know how to be in a healthy relationship. And she knows Sally likes a challenge. Chelsea tried to fix him and it didn’t work.
Nick visits Nikki at the ranch. He talks about taking Faith to Michigan to university.
He wants to talk if she has time. She always has time for him and knows what this is about. She tells him she’ll make tea and they’ll talk. Everything will be alright. Later, they discuss his issue. He feels his guilt is penance.
That Dad tried to cover it up makes it worse and Adam’s gone out of his way to be supportive.
Nikki’s stunned.
Chance and Abby are at home and having sex in their bed. After, they talk about how it’s nice to get back to normal. He makes jokes about their 1000 thread count sheets and the mansion.
They make out. She asks him to pass on riskier cases and says she’ll back off work so they can spend time together.
She cherishes the time they spent after he returned from Spain.
Adam finds Sally at the park. He doesn’t want to pressure her which is why he hasn’t made any grand romantic gestures to get her back.
He hopes she’s been thinking about what he said.
She says she can’t stop. She seems overcome with emotion as she calls him a huge distraction when she should be focused on her job.
She replays what he put her through. He did a great job stomping on her heart. He knows.
She doesn’t even know what forgiveness would look like. She can’t talk about this right now and runs off.
Kyle gets home and hops on a call to try to get plans made for the vow renewal when Summer walks in again.
She knows he’s up to something and asks him to spill. He admits he has a surprise.
She asks who else knows about it but he’s not spilling. They make out.
