Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for Tuesday, January 25, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Wednesday, January 26. (Recaps live by 5:45 PM EST daily.) In the previous episode, Adam learned Victor went behind his back and confronted him while Michael ordered his BFF Phyllis to stay in Genoa City. In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Billy has a warning, Adam’s angry at his father, and Adam shocks Sally.
Victoria and Billy bump into each other at Crimson Lights. They commiserate on being a little tired since the kids called and woke them both up this morning. She asks how he’s doing in his new role. Billy enjoys it. He talks about Lily’s role. It’s daunting.
She thinks Jill made the right choice about hiring Lily. She mentions her mother as COO and that she likes working with Ashland. He notes that she doesn’t say he works for her. He asks if she’s still planning on buying Newman Media.
She tries to play coy, but he knows she’s not going to walk away from something like that. He hasn’t forgotten how eager she was to get her hands on it. He knows she won’t give up that easily. He can see that look in her eye that she gets when she has a new deal on the go.
Victoria thinks he’s projecting his craving for revenge on her. He denies it and tells her the revenge isn’t worth it. He warns that she’ll owe her father and he won’t forget. “Don’t let him suck you back in,” he says. She looks down and seems to be thinking his words over.
At the ranch, Victor tells Adam about Victoria’s proposal coming in a few days ago. He thought it was premature because nothing came of it. Adam says she’s been goading him and looking like the cat that swallowed the canary. Victor says he can’t blame her for keeping her options open.
It’d make Newman/Locke a powerhouse. Adam’s aware. His patience seems to be running out as he asks, “What would it mean for me?” Vic says there’s a good reason to combine them all under the same umbrella. Adam feels his dad’s sending a message of disapproval with him.
Victor was disappointed that he didn’t see through Billy’s pitiful attack. Adam snipes that he had no intention of posting anything about Billy. Victor tells him that’s all water under the bridge. Adam says he’s done everything his father has asked. Victor agrees, which is why Victoria will make a generous offer.
Adam knows he brought in Michael Baldwin as a lawyer. He has something up his sleeve. Victor grins and refuses to tell Adam anything. “You’ll find out.” Adam purses his lips and shakes his head.

At Devon’s, Lily’s amazed and happy for Devon who got shared custody of Devon. “That makes me officially an aunt.” She wants to help with the nursery. Amanda loves that idea. Devon says they just need to finalize the legal agreement.
Lily learns that the baby’s name will include Winters. She thinks it’s lovely. She leaves and later, Devon thanks Amanda for her support. She doesn’t mind. He was supportive of her during her issues with Sutton.
Devon says this is a big responsibility having a baby in the house once a week. She doesn’t have a lot of experience with infants but calls it an adventure. They kiss.
Chance comes in from a run and eavesdrops on Abby telling Dominic that he’ll visit Devon and Moses the way he did when Mommy went away. She tells him it’s because Devon loves him so much and knows what makes him laugh, what games he likes to play, “Your favorite music.”
She tells him he’ll have a good time and spending more time with Devon will be a good thing. She kisses his hands as Chance stays hidden. She puts the baby down to sleep and Chance finally shows himself. He tells her he had a few bad nightmares last night.
She was hoping they’d magically go away once they gave Devon shared custody. He says he’s been pushing it down for a long time and the flood gates are open. He hopes it’s a sign of progress. She wishes she could wave a magic wand and make it go away but she knows that can’t be done.
Christine drops by the rest of the legal agreement for shared custody. Chance and Abby look them over and Christine says Devon has made another request. Abby doesn’t look thrilled to hear that Devon wants to take the baby tonight.
Christine clarifies she’s under no legal obligation. Chance says they’re both tired. They can get rest and will be in better shape when he comes home. Abby says it’s fine. She’ll get his things. Amanda and Devon turn up and Abby brings them the baby.
Devon coos over Dominic and tells him he’s going to spend the night with “Daddy.” Abby tells Dom she loves him and Devon thanks them. Once they’re gone, Abby and Chance hug each other tight.
Mariah and Tessa sit at Crimson Lights and talk about Amanda reworking Devon and Abby’s custody agreement. He’ll have regular visits. Tessa’s surprised and asks how Mariah feels. She admits she’s having mixed emotions. “I am having pangs of jealousy,” but she knows her situation is different since she’s not the biological mother.
Tessa asks if Devon having custody bothers her. Mariah says it’s not far from what they envisioned for Dom in the first place. She thinks the love is all that matters. Mariah goes upstairs and returns later to find a brownie. She’s grateful to her fiancée. She didn’t mean to get down.
She has a lot to be thankful for. She includes the most adorable and supportive girlfriend. “Um. Fiancée,” Tessa corrects. Mariah gasps. She repeats the word a few times and likes how it sounds. Tessa suggests a spring wedding. They talk a destination wedding. “Like Milwaukee?” Tessa asks. Mariah groans.
Tessa has a publicity meeting for the album so they agree to talk about it tonight.
At Newman Enterprises, Victoria tells Ashland about her talk with Billy. Ashland thinks Billy and Lily are after Newman Media. Victoria doesn’t think so. She thinks he’s worried about her trusting her father. Ashland doesn’t think they need Billy to tell them this.
They already suspect he has an ulterior motive. Ash thinks he wants to use it to keep Adam in line. Victoria thinks there’s more to it.
Nikki wanders in. She says hi and assumes Ashland is helping Victoria to structure her bid for Newman Media. She says not to get too excited because her father is intending on being hands on. Victoria’s aware.
She’s concerned about bringing Adam on board. Nikki’s brow furrows. Victor wants Adam to stay on or there’s no deal. Nikki does the pursing of the lips as she’s wont to do and slumps into a chair. Victoria says he did help them in Italy to stay on Dad’s good side. She wonders how he’ll react to this news. Ash thinks it might be best to have him in house to keep an eye on him.
Adam sits in his office when Noah appears. He wanted to explain why he took the job at New Hope. Adam didn’t know about this. He says he thought Grandpa passed the news on. “It’s news to me,” Adam says, sighing. He calls Nick a good guy doing meaningful work and is sure it’ll be a great opportunity.
Noah takes off, running into Sally. She tells Adam there’s something he should know. “Now what?” He asks, as if preparing himself for the worst.
She relays that Chelsea and Chloe signed a lease for the new offices for the fashion platform. “Good for them,” he says. Sally’s surprised at his reaction. He’s got bigger things on his mind. She jokes that she was hoping to be able to come by and annoy him.
He admits her unexpected pop ins add variety to his day. She asks if he’d consider cancelling the new lease. He won’t. He wants to support Chelsea moving on. Sally gets it. She asks what Victor did to put him in this mood.
He tells her it’s not up for discussion. She says fine. She imagines he’s already started looking over his shoulder. Adam says it’s not just going to be Victor. Sally worries that there’s someone else to look at them. Adam asks her not to tell Chloe or lord it over Chelsea.
He admits his dad is considering selling the company to Victoria, though hit feels like a vote of confidence in his leadership. Sally’s angry on Adam’s behalf and alarmed at what could happen for the fashion platform. She asks how he’ll handle it but he’s not sure. He’ll still be in position as CEO. He appreciates her support. It’s nice to have someone in his corner for a change.
At Chancellor Enterprises, Billy talks about some construction job and that they should break ground next week. Lily agrees. Billy fills her in on his talk with Victoria and his warning. Lily’s not shocked she didn’t listen to him. They think it might be nice to sit back and watch Adam go down in flames.
Later, she lets Billy know about the shared custody agreement. Billy’s happy but knows it couldn’t have been an easy decision for Abby or Chance.
