Find the new September and October comings and goings for Y&R here.
Sean Carrigan
Sean Carrigan’s last airdate as Ben “Stitch” Rayburn was Friday, August 27, after Stitch gave his emotional confession that he kidnapped Mariah and then disappeared after leading Abby to her.
Michael Mealor and Hunter King
Hunter King recently left Y&R as Summer Newman, along with co-star Michael Mealor (Kyle Abbott). Michael Mealor confirmed on his Instagram page though Hunter King didn’t make an announcement. The two will leave Genoa City and move to Milan on the August 9 episode of Y&R and they will be seen returning in October in a temporary visit that will be seen over several days.
The actor revealed, “In true Chanccomm fashion, Uncle Billy broke the news first…..my time as we know it on The Young and the Restless is coming to a close. The last three and a half years has been a truly humbling and life changing experience. I wouldn’t have been here this long without the love and support y’all have shown me throughout every inch of this ride! From appearing on national TV in my “birthday suit” to digging up graves for DNA fragments, every engagement and every heart break, whether you were #KOLA or #SKYLE, y’all were along for the rollercoaster. Thank you @youngandrestlesscbs, @cbstv and @sony for trusting me with this incredible character. Thank you for allowing me to be your Kyle Abbott. So much love to each and every one of you!”

Elizabeth Leiner
Elizabeth Leiner looks to be leaving Young and the Restless in her role as Tara Locke the week of August 2 when Locke is arrested for embezzlement and sent to Manhattan to be seen before a judge for her crime. Since the character won’t be able to return to Genoa City due to her crime taking place in New York, it doesn’t seem likely that she will be seen again. Since Tara is gone, it stands to reason that Kellen Enriquez (Harrison Locke) may not be seen for much longer, considering Kyle and Summer want to take him to Milan. When Soaps Spoilers receives confirmation, we’ll post more.
Melissa Claire Egan
Melissa Claire Egan returns to Y&R briefly in a video chat with Adam (Mark Grossman) on the Monday, July 26 episode. Follow the Y&R day ahead recaps to see this.

Jill Johnson/JPI
Karla Mosley/Mishael Morgan
Karla Mosley (ex-Maya, Bold and the Beautiful) is cast as Amanda Sinclair to replace Mishael Morgan temporarily. She starts April 26. The reason is that Mishael Morgan suffered an eye injury. Though the actress has had eye surgery, she will need time to recuperate. The actress has since posted on April 22 that she was back on set! “First day back and It’s like riding a bike!” She will be seen back on the screen June 1.
In a joint statement, Executive Producer Tony Morina and Co-Executive Producer/Head Writer Josh Griffith said, “We’re grateful that Karla Mosley, a seasoned actor and consummate professional, was able to step into the role of Amanda during Mishael Morgan’s temporary absence. Mishael is a valuable member of the Y&R family and will be back on air soon to continue her journey as Amanda.” For more about Griffith’s praise on Mosley, check out Soap Opera Digest.

“Derek”
A new leading man is coming to Genoa City. According to Soap Hub, a casting breakdown has gone out for the contract role of “Derek,” a man in his “mid-30s. White male, All-American. He’s an incredibly attractive and physically fit leading man. He’s a playful, roguish adventurer. Has seen enough to be jaded but strong enough to remain at heart an optimist. Tough-minded when he needs to be, yet isn’t afraid to show his emotions to get his point across.” The role is a contract part and the start date is for later this year.
Jack Landron
Jack Landron debuts as Sutton Ames. Sutton is Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) biological grandfather and Naya’s Benedict’s (Ptosha Storey) father. He will begin airing Monday, April 15.
Reylynn Caster
Alyvia Alyn Lind is out at Young and the Restless and recast with Reylynn Caster. The recast is considered indefinite since the actress is going to be playing the lead in the TV series, Chucky, based on the horror movie franchise with the killer doll. Look for nu-Faith to appear April 12 for the first time.
Jacob Aaron Gaines
Young and the Restless has hired Jacob Aaron Gaines to portray the new Moses, who for the new viewers is Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and Sofia Dupre’s (Julia Pace Mitchell) son. He’ll first appear on Thursday, April 1

Kathryn Browning appears on Young and Restless as Iris, Rey and Sharon’s marriage counselor. She’ll first be seen March 12.
New writer at Y&R! Susan Banks joined the writing team at Young and the Restless. Banks used to run the CBS Daytime on-air promotions department and is a veteran producer. Folks who watched the March 1 episode of the show should know that it was her script! Congrats to Banks who said, “Writing for the show is a thrilling ride that challenges my creative juices every week. Bill and Lee [Phillip] Bell are icons of the television industry whose love, mentorship, and support I have always cherished. It is an honor to be a part of their soap family and the legacy that has continued for almost 48 years.”
Richard Burgi
Starting Thursday, March 11, Ashland Locke arrives in Genoa City. Locke will be portrayed by Richard Burgi. Those who watch General Hospital will remember him as Paul Hornsby, the serial killer, and Philip Collier on Days of our Lives. Let us know in the comments if you’re looking forward to his appearance.
Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) past is coming back to haunt him. Elizabeth Leiner was cast in the role of Tara Locke on Young and Restless and we can expect to see her starting March 1. Kyle and Tara share what Soap Digest is calling a “colorful past.” Read that first recap and check out a sneak peek of her in character below.
Eileen Davidson brings Ashley Abbott back to Y&R March 1. She has scenes with Victor and Abby as well as Nina.
Y&R fans have been waiting with bated breath, at the details surrounding Kyle’s buried secret was until Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) revealed to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) of all people that Kyle was into an older married woman and that they’d been seeing each other in The Hamptons. It turns out that Tara was married to a cutthroat business mogul named Ashland Locke, and Kyle and Tara had a child together. The big question is, does Ashland know this? We’re assuming he thinks the child is his because when Sally found out the truth, she wondered if Kyle has a death wish. To that, Theo replied, “Or, he was really in love.” In case you still have it DVRd, this was seen in the Monday, February, 5 episode of the show. At least Summer knows the truth since, in a strange soapy turn, Kyle actually gave her the heads up right away.
Leiner most recently starred opposite of the late Burt Reynolds in Hamlet & Hutch. The actress was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and English Education. Some may remember her from Nanny Killer as Elizabeth, Drop Dead Diva, as a host, and for a role in Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
Krystal Mosley booked a gig on Young and the Restless as a desk clerk at The Grand Phoenix. Her role will be seen starting Monday, February 15. Mosley’s also a model and dancer.
