General Hospital recap for Thursday, July 7, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Chase vents about Brook Lynn to his family, Laura thinks Anna should be more cautious with Valentin, and Liz loses it when Kevin asks about her parents.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Sasha melted down and hallucinated on air, Selina threatened Lucy, and Carly shot down Sonny’s offer.
On the patio, Alexis and Anna toast to Laura fighting off the recall campaign. The mayor thanks Alexis for getting The Invader to support her. Laura plans to make the city a safer kinder place by eliminating a clear and present danger.
The mayor isn’t explaining what that means. She talks about her grandchildren instead. They hope Liz will be back soon. Laura is grateful Kevin is helping her navigate everything. Anna says she’s lucky to have a partner to help her.
Since they are discussing relationships, Alexis takes off. The mayor asks Anna how things are going with Valentin. Anna feels like she’s known him forever but he still is a bit of a mystery. She notices he’s changed and she’s not sure how.
Laura thinks alarms should be going off. Anna knows who and what he is. That’s what makes her feel comfortable with him. “Things are worse than I thought,” Laura says.
Anna insists she has her eyes open with Valentin. Her friend warns her that love can rob you of your better sense.
As Chase gets out of the pool, a woman meets him and asks if he could use some help. She offers him a towel but he tells her he already has one. If he needs one, she’ll be around.
His father and brother pop up and notice he just shot that woman down and tease him about having it bad for Brook Lynn. Chase complains she’s trying to make him into a pop star.
They sit down and he explains how absurd it is for Brook Lynn to try and sell him as a singer while she manages him. He told her he wasn’t interested. His father wonders why he’s not considering the idea.
Chase tells him he was right to be hard on her. She continually gets into dangerous situation and he keeps getting into trouble. Finn thinks he’s just crazy for her.
After some bickering, Gregory asks his son what’s wrong with becoming a pop star. He says it’s all about her and getting revenge. Besides that, being a star is opposite everything that interests him.
His father points out how much he enjoys performing at the Nurses’ Ball. He spots Alexis and heads over to her. She asks where his granddaughter is. She brings out the best in him. “You haven’t seen my best yet,” he says.
They bicker. She points out he hasn’t picked up her offer to write an op ed. He thanks her for helping to bring his sons back together. When she calls him “chicken” for not writing the op ed, she suddenly gets a text from her op ed editor. He did submit one.
Meanwhile, Chase insists to his brother that he is a cop, not a singer. He can’t just go along with Brook Lynn to fulfill her needs over his own. The topic turns to Liz. Finn explains she’s been pushing him away and he’s started to feel like part of the problem.
Chase tells him to turn things around by being direct and getting Liz to articulate what’s wrong. Finn thinks that’s pretty good advice and suggests he think about what he wants, not what Brook Lynn does.

Kevin stops by to see Liz at the mental hospital. He apologizes for interrupting her puzzle but she has a visitor. It’s Jake. She throws her arms around her son. The doctor brought him and will take him home. Jake asks his mom to come with him.
She’s reluctant to leave until she figures out what’s wrong with her. Her son thinks she should come back where everyone can help her and asks why that doesn’t include her parents.
Jake assures her he didn’t speak to her parents behind her back. She asks him to send her parents to her if they get in touch with him. Kevin asks for a minute alone with her and Liz tells her son she will see him again soon.
Once Jake has left, Liz tells Kevin that everything has been confusion and chaos since Franco died. She feels like she’s moved on too quickly. The doctor is more concerned about how she reacted to mention of her parents.
She says they have been absent her entire life. She only wants them to respect her wishes and stay away from her kids, especially Jake, who is alone and vulnerable. He asks if that’s how she felt when she was his age.
As he pushes, she screams, “Forget my parents! They are nothing to me!” She pushes the puzzle to the floor and looks shocked. He’s happy that she’s finally reacted to something. She insists she has no relationship with her parents.
He wonders if this has followed her and haunts her. There might be something much scarier there than a ghost.
Later, Finn arrives at the hospital and begs to see Liz. Kevin informs him that she’s gone.
Victor and Valentin meet in the park. He tells his son about the Cassadine duty to make the world a better place. He won’t always be around to lead the family and wants someone he can pass the torch to.
After he places a family ring in his son’s hand, Valentin slips it on and informs him that Laura is working on having him deported. She’s determined and has resources. Victor isn’t ready to leave.
They argue about his tactics. Valentin went along with them in the past, but claims that things have changed. He flashes back to his date with Anna and then explains he’s done everything he can for him.
“Your daughter will be very disappointed,” Victor warns. His son says they will not be bonding as long as he keeps him from his daughter. If he threatens her again, he will cut his throat.
“Spoken like a true Cassadine,” Victor says with a smile. He’s still counting on him to destroy Laura’s plans, one way or another. If he wants to continue to be a loving father, he has to do what he says.
Later, Victor finds Anna in the park, making a call to check about Valentin’s time in the clinic.
Brook Lynn enters the Quartermaine kitchen and her father notices she’s upset about something. She knows he’s had issues with Chase but she says there is nothing there. He asks about Chase being suspended for a second time for defending her honor.
She hates being the reason he keeps losing his badge and complains about him getting upset for not discussing her plans. Ned says that runs in the family. Olivia accused him of the same and she was right.
She rejects the analogy. Her father explains they are both willful, ambitious, and get hurt easily which makes them lash out. He points out she was planning to use Chase and made it all about her.
Brook Lynn can see his point. She complains about Linc taking her songs and selling them. Is she supposed to give up? Her father shows her that Leo posted a video of Chase singing her song on social media. It has thousands of likes. She’s amazed.
He suggests she has some fences to men. She worries it’s too late. He’s sure that wouldn’t stop her. She hurries off to shower.
Brook Lynn heads for the pool. Chase calls and tells her they need to talk.
Valentin corners Laura alone on the patio and asks if he can join her.
