Tuesday, July 4, 2023, Y&R day ahead episode recap: Chance tells Abby he’s ready to move, Lily is shocked to learn that Nate and Victoria are together, and Kyle refuses Jack’s job offer.

Abby and Devon are at the penthouse. He guesses she’s really thinking about moving to the Chancellor mansion. She is but it’s not her choice to make. Leaving the penthouse would mean more to him than to her.
He’s not making the decision on his own and thinks they should be on the same page. She’d be happier anywhere with him. She’s sure Dom loves it there but feels more at home at the Chancellor house.
He knows their son would have more space to explore. He knows Katherine would hate the place to be empty. It feels like part of her legacy that he could keep alive.
She thinks that means they have their answer. He agrees and they cuddle.
Lily arrives at Society and spots the head of Crawford Pictures walking away from Audra. Miss Charles brags about signing a deal with them.
Lily is amazed that Nate let her seal this deal. Audra informs her that she’s the one running Newman Media now.
Lily assumes she stabbed him in the back and finds it hard to believe she would get the promotion on merit. Nate wanders in and Lily tells him about Audra putting her fangs into him.
He explains the real situation. “Oh, you’re a place-filled,” Lily tells Audra.
Nate commends Audra on finalizing the deal this morning, lily asks to speak to him alone. As Audra gets up, she thanks Lily for firing her and brags she’s now at the top of her game.
Once she’s gone, Lily asks Nate how he’s doing. He says they are good and adds that he and Victoria have started seeing each other.
“Wow! Really? Wow! You are swimming with all the sharks,” she says.
Once she’s gone, Audra asks if his cousin kept lecturing him about corporate morality. She’s a judgemental one.
Nate says she’s fine and explains that he’s re-bonded with his family. That’s fine with her but she worries about what influence his cousin could have.
She toasts to them getting all they wanted. He’s amazed it’s all come with so little effort. It’s too bad what happened to Nick, but…
They ponder the future and how Nate could step into the COO position permanently. When he suggests they get back to the office, she insists
on staying back to work on a side-project that could prove to be rewarding.
Abby meets with Chance at the GCAC to talk about the move. She urges him to open up about his feelings.
He appreciates the concern but says the move is mostly for Dominic. She’s sorry for hurting him. The cop wants to put all that behind them for the kid’s sake. Besides, the house is too much for him alone. He’ll be out by the end of the week.
She says that makes it official.
Lily stops by the penthouse and tells Devon that Nate and Victoria are romantically involved. He already knew but didn’t want to gossip.
He fills her in about Nate cheating on Elena with his boss and she tells him about Nate and Audra’s new business positions. She wants to believe he’s a good person but he keeps proving her wrong.
Devon says he hasn’t been a good person for awhile. But how would she feel about being his neighbor? He offers her the penthouse.
She’s baffled so he explains that Chance has given them the chance to move into the mansion.
Lily admires how mature they are being. She’s been caught off-guard but has always loved the penthouse and found Neil’s presence comforting.
Abby arrives and informs them that Chance is moving out at the end of the week. Devon is surprised this is happening so fast. With a little prodding, they convince Lily to take the penthouse.
After she leaves, Abby tells Devon they can slow down the move but he says it’s fine. He admits it will be tougher to leave the place than he thought. It’s where he did most of his growing up and settled down.
But he won’t change his mind. It’s time for them to start their life together. They kiss and hug.

Kyle drops by Jack’s office at Jabot with the latest Marchetti numbers. His father already knows the numbers. He wants to discuss how they move forward from here given his relationship with Summer.
His son assures him that he and Summer can act professionally. Jack isn’t convinced that’s likely or would be productive. One of them needs to resign.
Kyle says that would be unfair to Summer given how much work she’s put into the company. His father informs him she’s not the one who needs to resign.
This startles his son. Jack explains that Summer’s life is in chaos and she needs something to count on. He offers to find him another option in Jabot.
It makes sense for them to separate at work as well as at home. Kyle wonders if this is his way of trying to get him and his wife to stay together.
His father insists there is no alternative motive. He loves both of them and no one is getting fired. Kyle feels like he’d be going backward.
Jack points out that working with Summer would hurt them and the company. His son is sure that they can set their feelings aside but Jack doesn’t believe it.
He needs an answer soon. “I will get back to you,” miffed Kyle says, stomping out.
At the Abbott estate, Diane tries offering Summer her support but gets shot down. Summer blames her for her marriage falling apart.
Diane only wants to help her with the situation but that’s rejected again.
“My mom is right. You do destroy everything you touch!” Summer declares, flouncing off. She soon returns with her bags packed.
Pouting, she thinks of Kyle telling her that she’s the center of his universe. They faced so many challenges and always came back to each other. He would choose her everyday, even over mocha fudge ice cream.
They both loved their story and their family and agreed to follow each other into the future.
Kyle arrives and interrupts the happy memories. He guesses she’s been fighting with his mom and notices her bags are packed. He’s startled she was ready to go so quickly.
He informs her that his father wants him to leave Marchetti. He fought that at first but realized Jack is right. Marchetti is hers.
She calls Harrison down to say goodbye.
They sit him down on the couch and tell him they will always love him… but she will be moving out. Other than that, nothing much will be different and she will see him every day. If anything, they will have more fun and he can always count on them.
After Harrison goes back upstairs, they decide that went better than expected. They have always made a great team with their son. He promises to let Harrison call her when ever he wants.
She knows that won’t be the same. He offers to help with her bags but she insists on going alone and exits.
Diane goes to the office and complains to Jack about Summer lashing out at her. He’s sorry about that and adds he had his own run in with their son.
Kyle arrives and informs them that they told Harrison about Summer moving out and she left. He also agrees to resign from Marchetti.
Jack promises the new job will be rewarding. His son declines the offer. He needs time to think about what’s next and exits.
Jack and Diane look at each other in disbelief. They know their son is at a crossroads in his life, but would be really walk away from Jabot?
Diane thinks he just needs some time to step back and he knows this is where he belongs. Jack isn’t so sure, but the house will be a lot sadder without Summer.
Kyle meets with Audra at Crimson Lights. She brags about her day in her new position and explains she had a few minutes of her valuable time to spare him. He explains that Summer has moved out. They are separating.
She’s sorry and hopes she had nothing to do with it. He assures her things were already bad long before that. If the separation wasn’t enough, he’s also out of a job. That surprises her.
Audra asks what he’ll do next. He still needs to figure that out. “Interesting,” she says.
Chance bumps into Summer in the lobby of the GCAC. She informs him that Kyle asked her to move out.
He tells her she can reach out if she needs someone to talk to. She needs to settle in before she can focus on trying to get her marriage back on track.
