Wednesday, August 9, Y&R day ahead recap: Audra pressures Adam for reassurances, Billy asks Tucker and Ashley what they are offering, and Abby tries brokering peace in the family.
Tuesday’s Y&R day ahead: After recounting her story in tears, Phyllis was shocked with the judge’s sentence, and Mariah lectured Daniel for judging his mom.

In the GCAC dining room, panicking Audra calls Nate and asks if there’s any news.
He says he’s making the proposal because it’s a good move.
Getting her out of a jam will only be a side benefit but he needs some time.
Adam invites himself to sit with her and asks if she has good news.
She says it’s pending. That sounds like stalling to him. He wants this handled by the time Adustus is launched.
She claims she has a two-stage plan in the works.
He reminds her the public announcement launching the company will be next week.
She wonders if this is going to leave her out in the cold.
That’s dampening her incentive. He thought her incentive was avoiding scandal.
She says it was just the cover up of a cover up and she’s still concerned about her position.
Audra brags about her abilities and nervously asks where she lands when the companies are folded together.
Adam says she needs to make it happen first and then they can see.
When she suggests he needs her as much as she needs him, he gets sarcastic.
She wants something in writing guaranteeing her a position and claims she has cards up her sleeve.
If he releases those emails, he will make Tucker an enemy for life. Adam doesn’t care.
She thinks she should be put near the topic. He’s sure that he can convince Nick and Sharon if she proves she can deliver.
She’s sure they can work together. He admires that she puts business and loyalty above all else.
Audra doesn’t bite the hand that feeds her.
Nate joins Nikki and Victoria in their office.
He’s been going over the Adustus files and suggests that Adam is correct in thinking that there will be redundancies.
He thinks if they fold Newman Media into it, it would make them a powerhouse.
Nikki is appalled to hear him suggesting that they defy Victor and wonders what has gotten into him.
He doesn’t want to second guess her husband but thinks this is a smart move.
Victoria doesn’t want to give her brother a win. Nate urges them not to take this personally.
Nikki leaves them to hash this out and makes it clear she wants the companies to stay separate.
Once she’s exited, Victoria asks Nate what prompted him to reconsider this.
He’s not suggesting they do anything behind her father’s back. It’s just good business.
She wonders if he’s lost faith in Audra. A merger would dilute her power.
He claims his respect has not wavered. This is about avoiding redundancy.
Victoria still worries about her brother’s motives.
They discuss what’s best for Newman over all.
She’ll have to think about it, but his passion is turning her on. They make out.
She suggests they get a bit after work and he urges her to think some more about the merger, assuring her he can handle Adam.
Nate bumps into Adam at the GCAC and they immediately start bickering.
Adam thinks they are the same and accuses Nate of being just as calculating.
Adam knows who he is and embraces it.
He suggests the doctor do the same and walks out.
When Nate gets back to teh office, she tells Nate that the merger idea has some merit but she has one caveat.
Billy meets with Ashley and Tucker at Jabot to discuss their plan to subvert Diane.
He asks what’s in this for him. They figured he’s want to know.
His sister explains that they will be taking over Jabot after Diane weakens the company.
Jabot will remain a separate entity and Billy can run it.
He’ll have to report to them but he won’t be under Jack’s shadow anymore.
Their father would be so proud. Billy is intrigued.
She announces they have a meeting with Jack and need to go.
She’s thrilled when he announces he’s in.
Once they exit, he texts Jack, urging him to be prepared for anything.

Abby stops by the Abbott estate and tells Jack and Diane that her mom is willing to meet with him.
For a détente to work, it needs to be the three of them. No Diane.
Jack refuses to accept this. Any peace requires Ashley to accept Diane.
Abby points out that having her there will only put her mom’s back up.
Diane agrees with this.
She loves Jack for standing up for her, but if he wants peace, he needs to accept that Tucker is part of his sister’s life.
Tucker and Ashely arrive. Abby declares the significant others need to leave so the meeting can go ahead.
Tucker agrees to this. He and Jack bicker but McCall insists he wants what’s best. He even asks Diane to have brunch with him.
Once they leave, Abby kicks things off. Ashley asks her daughter to exit.
The siblings bicker. She suggests Diane has turned him into an “insipid fool” and he vents about how crude Tucker has made her.
Abby wonders if she has to set down debating rules.
Her mom says that she will happily be done with all of this and walk away from everything related to Jabot.
She can’t stand to have any more arguments.
Tucker has convinced her to walk away and start fresh. She says if he buys her out, they are done.
Jack is happy too. He knows things are untenable for them. She wants to move on.
They discuss what this means for their relationship as siblings.
He suggests they both learn to live and let live. She agrees and wants to move forward without being angry.
They discuss Ashley’s wedding and Jack asks if she would let him bring his wife.
She thinks it over and says it matters to her that she’s there to support her marriage.
If he can make that gesture, she can make the same.
They awkwardly hug. Abby’s impressed.
Once her mom exits, Abby wonders to her uncle if that was a little too easy.
Tucker and Diane arrive at Society, Billy is there so McCall starts poking him.
Billy guesses they got thrown out of the peace talks and complains about how sick he is of all the fighting.
He thinks that Diane will eventually go too far and Jack will realize Ashley was right about her all along.
Diane is sick of trying to prove herself, declares she’s lost her appetite, and storms out.
Diane bumps into Nikki at the door. “Oh great!” they groan in unison.
They start bickering and Nikki admits she’d admire her if she wasn’t so “loathsome.”
Back inside at the bar, Tucker and Billy smirk at each other.
They go over Billy’s plans to push Diane too far. McCall says they aren’t too dissimilar… but he wonders if Billy has his own agenda.
All of this seems a little too good to be true. “What does?” Nikki asks as she interrupts.
She joins them in venting about Diane.
That woman can bring the most distant people together.
She points out that Diane drives people mad with rage and they become collateral damage.
There’s no upside in doing battle with her and she’s had to resign herself to the fact that she’s part of the fabric.
When Ashley arrives, she reminds Nikki to RSVP for the wedding.
Nikki is still surprised that they are back together. Ashley explains she and Jack have worked things out.
Audra bumps into Diane at Crimson Lights. She invites her to sit and asks about her relationship with Kyle. Audra tells her how impressive he is.
Diane says he’s still in love with Summer and belongs at Marchetti.
Audra can’t address that but he seems to be ready to move on with his life. He seems to need a break from all of them to find himself.
“I doubt he needs to align himself with you if he wants to find himself,” Diane says, accusing her of being a user.
Audra claims she just wants to be there for him at a hard time.
Diane is sure she’s using him and it will all fall apart.
When Diane goes home, she’s surprised to hear that everything went well with Ashley.
She says that she ran into Billy at Society and he played his part a little too well.
Is there a chance Ashley has actually turned him against them?
