General Hospital recap for Friday, September 23, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Sonny accuses Diane of betraying him, Nikolas makes a grand gesture to Ava, and Lucy refuses to be rescued by Valentin and Anna.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Liz drew a face from memory that looked like Finn’s wife, and Victor abducted Lucy, warning of earth-shattering events.
Diane and Alexis meet at Crimson Lights. Diane congratulates her on her latest click-bait article and asks how Kristina reacted.
Neither of them like that she’s taking being a witness so lightly.
Alexis admits that she said all the wrong things to her daughter. She thinks she’s too smart to spend her life making work schedules.
Nikolas interrupts and asks Alexis for her help. The ladies assume this is about Ava and the lawyer takes off.
Once the prince sits down, Alexis reminds him he can find a therapist. He doesn’t want to lose his wife. That’s what the attack taught him. Does she think he should give up?
She tells him talk is cheap. She has no idea what he should do. But if what he did cost Ava his pride, he needs to put something on the line for her.
In the garage, Sasha sits on the floor in the dark talking to Brando. She hears someone enter. It’s just Sonny. He figured she would come to the place Brando loved.
After she paces around, Sonny tells her she can stay as long as she needs. She feels like Brando is there. No matter how many times she pretends or wishes this is a horrible nightmare, he is gone.
Sonny tells her this is like with his son Morgan. It was unexpected and he didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. Sometimes when he goes into crowds, he just wants to see him. When the phone rings, he still thinks it’s him.
Later, Diane stops by, wanting to speak to Sasha. Sonny says she’s in the office and needs time alone. Diane explains she’s been asked to fill in for Martin. Sonny doesn’t feel a lot of trust for her right now after what she did to him on the stand.
He sends Dex out, but he stays outside and listens. Diane tells Sonny that Brando was a hero who deserved better than he got. She just wants to help his widow.
Diane reminds him she was just doing her job and has done pretty much everything for him aside from digging graves.
She was only cross-examining him as any competent lawyer would.
Sonny can’t forget that she put his life out in public when he was on the stand. Before she can leave, Sasha comes out.
After Diane pays her condolences, she explains Gladys and Martin asked her to step in and provide her legal counsel. They realize that her agreement to avoid prison stipulated that Brando was her guardian.
The agreement will have to be re-evaluated. She doesn’t think this is the time to do it, so she wants to file for a continuance. Sasha agrees to that. Sonny thanks the lawyer.
He takes Sasha home and laves Dex to lock up after Diane is done in the office.
Left alone with some paperwork, Diane is approached by the Hook.

Kelly Thiebaud exits and the latest GH comings and goings
Nina drops by Ava’s hospital room and tells her she’s looking better. Sitting down, she asks if her marriage is over since Nikolas slept with Esme. She doesn’t get an answer.
Nina asks her to come and stay with her when she’s released. They are friends and should help each other. She senses Ava would prefer to go back to Wyndemere.
Ava says they’ve lived in that big house before when they were estranged. Her friend wonders if she’s angling for revenge but soon guesses she still loves her husband.
Nina assures her no one will throw it in her face if she decides to forgive him. She just wants her to be happy. Ava’s not sure she can live with herself if she gives him a second chance.
Nina tells her they have both paid terrible prices for their mistakes. It’s a miracle they’ve found love.
Ava recalls blackmailing Nikolas into the marriage. Nina says it’s a love match now.
Sonny calls her and fills her in about Sasha. Nikolas shows up so Nina exits.
Ava tells the prince it will take more than words to make things right. He knows. That’s why he brought something in an envelope.
Gregory stops by his son’s office and notices he’s looking at photos of his late wife. A nurse reminds the doctor he needs to see a patient.
Liz looks at a picture she drew and wonders who they are. It looks just like Finn’s late wife. She flashes back to finding her at the bottom of the stairs.
Liz finds Finn in his office and tells him she remembered the face. She can’t place it but feels like she wasn’t a stranger.
His phone beeps. She picks it up to hand it to him and looks at the woman on his phone. He explains it’s a picture of his late wife.
Finn doesn’t talk about her but a case he’s working on reminds him of something he was working on in the islands near Guam.
A doctor they knew died of a poisonous snake bite. Liz starts rubbing her head. She’s feeling frustrated because she can’t put things together. None of it makes sense and she needs to go home.
He tells her she’s incredible and they will find the truth. She runs out, pulls out the picture she drew, and looks confused.
When Liz gets home, she goes through an old album and finds a photo of herself on the island.
Gregory bumps into Alexis at the Metro Court and asks her for a coffee so they can discuss the reaction to her story about the Hook.
She tells him the police are not happy about the article. It’s also been very good for traffic. Gregory tells her he didn’t think she sensationalized it at all. She appreciates him saying that.
They discuss how directly addressing the attacker through the paper could work. She doesn’t believe for a minute that the killer is done.
On the Haunted Star, Victor tells Lucy they are alone at last and it’s time for them to serve themselves. He asks her to always be honest with him, no matter what.
When he prompts her to tell him what she wants, she asks about his big plan. As they hold hands, there is a noise.
Johan goes out on the deck for a beer. Valentin and Anna hide in a corner. She tries to stop him for sneezing, but Johan hears something and pulls out his gun.
They sneak away. After taking one of Valentin’s shoes, she throws it to distract Johan. Valentin kicks him into the water when he’s look away.
An employee runs in to tell Victor that someone just went overboard. He runs off to help. Lucy spots Valentin and Anna. They announce they are there to rescue her.
“What if I don’t want to be rescued?” she asks. She insists that Victor is putty in her hands and she hasn’t felt this alive in years. She’s close to finding out what his plans are.
She chases them out as Victor returns with a soaking Johan. He doesn’t remember seeing anyone. Victor sends him to his room to dry off. He senses something is off.
Lucy wants to get back to their date. He’s surprised she’s calling it that. She makes it clear she loves Marty but he’s making it difficult to stay true to him. She’s wondering what a future with him could look like.
“Let’s find out,” he suggests.
Valentin and Anna get back to shore. He tells her she’s glowing. She thinks it’s fun to work together. But she’s still worried about Lucy.
