Thur Jan 25, 2024: Today on General Hospital, Diane and Robert fight about Sonny, Molly asks her mom if she’s actually happy about her news, and Finn and Liz tell Martin what they learned from Dr. Sawyer.
Wednesday’s GH recap: Kristina’s pregnant, Cody accuses Spinelli of being jealous, Spencer and Trina said goodbye — and Esme knocked Kevin out.
At Kristina’s, she and Molly start teh countdown to when the baby will come and discuss the baby’s star sign. TJ arrives and they inform him that the procedure worked.
He’s thrilled. They’ll never be able to thank her enough. The couple begin giggling about the day they’ll be able to wipe up mashed banana.
He suddenly gets glum and reminds her that they were excited like this before and it all fell apart.
Molly says that won’t happen twice. Kristina urges them to have faith and take a breath. They can handle this together, even if the worst happens.
They’re a team now.
The doctor thinks she’s a rockstar and she thinks her sister is even better.
Robert brings some flowers to The Savoy and gets the waitresses opinion before checking that his plans are all on track. She tells him the woman he’s doing this for must be special.
Diane arrives and Robert hopes they can put how their last date ended behind them. He wanted to show her how much she means to him.
One of her favorite songs begins to play. He arranged that and asks her to dance.
She doesn’t want a dance partner tonight: she wants an apology.
He apologizes but he’s not sure what for. She reminds him that he was smug about putting Sonny away. That crossed a line with her.
He’s confused because that has nothing to do with them. He’s not sorry about any of that.
She accuses him of having an unprofessional vendetta against her client. Robert doesn’t like watching a racketeer hiding behind family, the mayor and the law.
Diane says the problem is he gloated. He suggests she’s offended that Sonny could lose and he might win.
They bicker about what a lawyer’s obligations are. He senses this is about more than giving a vigorous defense.
Is Sonny her client, or is “that murdering bastard” her friend? She confirms he’s one of her best friends. Does that change how he looks at her?
Robert thinks she’s a sharp and passionate woman but he can’t understand her looking past what Sonny has done.
She points out he looks past all the blood on Anna’s hands and past all Holly’s crimes.
She knows there is more to them than meets the eye just as she knows there is more to Sonny.
He says that if she can’t accept it’s his mission to put Sonny away, they are at an impasse.
They wonder where this leaves them. They care about each other and don’t want to give up what they are building.
He suggests they leave Sonny and the clients in the courtroom. She accepts that and they laugh.
Sonny and Alexis sit at the bar and talk about missing Spencer’s goodbye party. She senses he’s not in a rush to get home.
They discuss Kristina. Alexis is trying to respect her boundaries, but it’s killing her.
He tells her not to worry so much. He’s sure their daughter knows her heart was in the right place.
Alexis is determined to just bring joy into her daughters’ lives. He urges her to follow their lead.
The former lawyer still worries about the laws around this but he’s heard all this already and thinks she needs to move on.
Molly and Kristina call them.
In his office, Finn calls Violet to say he can’t tuck her in because he’ll be working. Liz joins him and he worries he might not be able to save lives anymore.
His life will soon be in the hands of twelve people who only care about his personality, not his medical competence.
She’s sure he will win them over because he inspires her every day.
As they cuddle, Martin interrupts and asks why they needed to see him. He urges them to relax tonight.
Finn would like to but they found something that could help the defense. They tell him Muldoon saw another doctor in Beecher’s Corners who referred him to an oncologist.
They fill the lawyer in on what Dr Sawyer told them. She won’t go on the record.
Martin explains there is still an avenue they can explore. He’ll call some PIs to search for the oncologist. This could blow the case open.
He tells them to concentrate on his testimony because that’s what will save or damn him. He’s sure Diane could grill him about his past substance abuse.
Martin leaves to track down Sam. Liz urges Finn to relax. Her house is empty. They kiss.

Brick shows up at Jordan’s place after she calls him over. He saunters in, wondering why he’s there.
She working on a special project and needs someone with his skills. She can’t involve the PCPD because it would put them in a bad spot.
She’s read his file and know what he can do. Brick asks what the mission is.
He tries flirting with her but she’s not biting. She asks him to track down a contact who has disappeared.
He’s not thrilled to put his neck on the line with the Feds when she won’t tell him anything.
Jordan insists she needs to keep the circle of trust small, but she will owe him a favor from the mayor’s office, no question asked.
He makes her give him his number and she tells him not to abuse it.
“Gotcha now,” he says, smirking to himself as he leaves.
Chase and Dante are at the PCPD complaining about how long they had to spent testifying today. Dante remembers he needs to bring Esme in for a statement.
Laura shows up and says they will have to do more than that to keep Port Charles safe. She informs them that Heather wants Esme in prison with her.
Heather tried to convince her to run, but Esme refused. She confirmed that Esme remembers everything.
They worry that Esme is desperate and has nothing to lose. Laura says they need to arrest her before she does something.
Dante points out they can’t. She’s told Robert to drum up a charge and Dante offers to bring her in on a false pretense and keep her in for questioning.
He points out that in the eyes of the law, she’s the victim and Nikolas is a wanted man. Laura and Chase insist on going with him as backup.
They go to the Metro Court and start searching. They find Kevin knocked out in Alexis’ office.
Jordan, Sonny, and Alexis all arrive at Kristina’s. She announces that the procedure worked and she’s pregnant.
Congratulations go around. When Alexis tells Molly she’s happy for her, her daughter asks if that’s true.
Alexis tells her daughters she’s thrilled for them and tells TJ that he’s the perfect partner. Everyone hugs.
TJ says no one can know about this until the first trimester passes. Kristina got some non-alcoholic champagne for a toast.
Alexis gets a call about something at work and has to leave abruptly.
Sonny makes the toast, saying that having a child is difficult but an incredible experience and he’s happy they can share in the joy of watching their child grow up.
Sonny tells Kristina how proud he is of her. Any parent would pray their child has the kind of relationship she does with her sister. They hug.
Alexis arrives at her office and Chase questions her about Esme. A cops comes in, saying they found something.
Chase then calls Dante to say they found a letter from Maggie asking Esme to visit her in Toronto.
He tells Alexis that Esme is their prime suspect in Kevin’s attack and they doubt it will stop there.
At the hospital, Kevin is stabilized and Laura talks to him before he goes in for tests. Holding his hand, she tells him she doesn’t want to go through life without him.
She calls Spencer and tells him to call back. It’s about Esme.
When she joins Dante in the hall, he tries to reassure her about Kevin. As she wipes away a tear, he tells her Esme bought a bus ticket to Toronto.
