Days September comings and goings
Adam Caine
Adam Caine will make his way back to Days of our Lives as Edmund Crumb, according to Soap Digest.
For those who don’t recall who this is, Edmund was married to Susan Banks (Eileen Davidson) once upon a time after they met at a pub in 1998. They fell in love and Edmund bought a ring, ready to propose when Susan went missing.
He found “Susan” in Salem (it was Kristen) where she had been accused of murdering Kristen DiMera. Edmund thought Kristen was Susan, as did everyone else, and proposed.
“Susan” accepted and eventually had to marry Edmund. When Kristen tried to escape with Stefano (Joe Mascolo), Edmund confessed to killing Kristen. Fake Susan ended the engagement and the real Susan was on an island, almost ready to be executed.
When she was released, she learned Edmund accidentally killed Susan’s sister Penelope Kent (Eileen Davidson), who was already dying. Edmund and Susan were married, while Kristen was sent to the island to take her place.
Edmund was last seen in 1998 and will be seen this time around with Ava (Tamara Braun) and Harris (Steve Burton) who seek him out in order to find Susan (Stacy Haiduk).
Zach Tinker
Zach Tinker returned to Days as Sonny Kiriakis during the week of August 28 for Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) memorial.
Tinker also portrays Fen on Young and Restless and has been playing Sonny since 2021, a role in which Freddie Smith originated.
Tinker will be last seen on September 29 when the actor and character exits Salem once again.
John Kapelos
John Kapelos returns to Days as Constantine, the man that Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) meet in Greece.
He was in Beyond Salem when Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Harris (Steve Burton) met him the first time.
He will be seen the second week of September in a handful of episodes and will return Thursday, October 12.
Charles Shaughnessy
Charles Shaughnessy returns to Days of our Lives once again as Shane Donovan.
Donovan’s an ISA agent and will first be seen in Greece the week of September 25 where he will run into his daughter Teresa (Jen Lilley).
There is no word yet on how long the actor will stick around.

Shaughnessy first appeared as the DOOL agent from 1984 – 1992 and has returned for quick episodes over the years, also making an appearance on Beyond Salem as the same character.
In May 2023 he left his role on General Hospital as dastardly Victor Cassadine, a role he portrayed since September 2021.
Incidentally, the role of Cassadine was originated by Thaao Penghlis (Days’, Tony DiMera).
Colton Little
Colton Little reappears on Days as Andrew Donovan who reconnects with Theresa (Jen Lilley).
He will be seen on September 14.

Yvans Jordain appears on Days as Dugan, a man that Steve (Stephen Nichols) and John (Drake Hogestyn) meet on September 4.
Rachel Melvin
Rachel Melvin makes a surprising return to Days of our Lives after not having been seen or barely spoken of since 2009 as Chelsea Brady, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Billie’s (Julie Pinson/Lisa Rinna) daughter.
Melvin will appear on September 7 for Victor’s funeral. She’ll be gone before the week is out.
The actress told Soap Digest, “I had kind of put it out into the ether when John Aniston [ex-Victor] passed away that he meant a lot to me because he did. He was one of the people that I had the most fun with on set and I just really enjoyed him. I had talked to Martha Madison [Belle] and said, ‘I know you’re on the show right now. If you hear of any funeral arrangements or anything like that, please let me know because I really want to pay my respects.’ I don’t know if maybe that got passed around or something, but before I knew it, my manager was calling and said, ‘Hey, DAYS would like to invite you back for a memorial episode,’ which, of course, I was l more than willing and excited and happy to do.”
Louise Sorel
As reported in April, Louise Sorel was back filming at Days of our Lives, according to the actress herself who revealed this to Harvey Brownstone in an exclusive interview on YouTube in April.
The actress also talks about how she got into acting and how encouraged she was by her drama teacher before she touched base about some of her past roles.
Watch the interview and tune in Friday, September 8 for her first return appearance.
Readers will recall that Vivian’s voice was heard on a call with Stefan from Statesville on January 30.
SoapsSpoilers doesn’t have an airdate for Vivian’s return.

Days September comings and goings
Dick Van Dyke
Most will recognize him from either The Dick Van Dyke Show or Mary Poppins and now, Dick Van Dyke will be guest-starring on Days of our Lives in September for a handful of episodes.
Access Online refers to his character as a “mystery man with amnesia.” You can head over there to watch a clip of the actor working alongside Deidre Evans (Marlena) and Drake Hogestyn (John).
Van Dyke told the website, “I have played old men before, but comedy old men. [This is the] first time I have ever just played my 97-year-old self.”
Folks will see Van Dyke Friday, September 1. It turns out he’s John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) real father, Timothy Robicheaux.
He will exit the week of September 11.
“Some of the people have been doing it for 20 years,” Van Dyke said.
“That’s all the homework I can do, watch one and see how they do it. The other thing, you have to hold, ‘duh duh,’ there’s the sting of music and we’ve said something exciting.”
How the actor got the part? That was all thanks to Hogestyn who works out at the same gym as the Mary Poppins star.

Jen Lilley
Jen Lilley makes her way back to Days of our Lives to once again reprise her role as Theresa Donovan during the week of August 28.
The last time we saw Lilley as Donovan was in July of 2018.
Her return this time around will be brief.
John-Paul Lavoisier
John-Paul Lavoisier returns to Days of our Lives as Philip Kiriakis on August 28, 2023.
We wonder if his return could be the beginning of the show’s tribute to John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis) who died on November 11, 2022 at the age of 89.
Kassie DePaiva Returns
Kassie DePaiva returns to Days of our Lives as Eve Donovan.
This is only for one episode in a scene with Steve Burton (Harris).
Camila Banus
Camila Banus will be exiting Days of our Lives after 13 years of playing vixen, Gabi Hernandez.
The actress’ last day of shooting was April 28 and we will update with her last airdate.
Banus tells The Wrap that she wants to do something different. “I’m ready for pretty much whatever comes my way,” Banus said. “My biggest desire is to work on films. I’m a huge film buff, and I would love to work on big budget films wherever, whenever that is. I’m just excited for cultivating new characters and possibly working on something comedic. I do think that I need to stretch that out because I think there’s a lot of potential there for me. I feel like people are really receptive to my comedic timing and I think that would be wonderful. I’m just excited for this new horizon of whatever is to come because I just love characters. I love cultivating them. The most wonderful thing about acting is playing pretend every day. I love to do that, and I can’t wait to do that with a bunch of other people and make magic again.”
