Fri May 23, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Victor receives unexpected visitors, Cole faces a tough decision, Claire asks Summer for a second chance.
Thursday’s recap: Nikki Returns as Cole and Michael Scheme to Get Jordan to Prison, and Alan Talks to Ashley About Her DID

Nick, Phyllis and Summer meet at Society.
They talk about how Harrison has fewer nightmares but he’s clingy sometimes.
The therapist told them it’s a process but Summer thinks they’re doing okay.
Her parents don’t believe it but Summer doesn’t want to discuss it.
They think it’s about Claire.
She admits Harrison’s worried sick about her and it breaks Summer’s heart that she has the power to upset him even though she’s not around.
Summer wishes she could wave a magic wand and make her disappear.
Nick understands she’s easy to blame.
Summer can’t get past how she was part of something horrific and she doesn’t think it’s unreasonable that she doesn’t want to see her.
Nick understands but thinks they should spend time together once in a while.
This irritates Summer who doesn’t think Claire’s entitled to a job with someone else’s child.
Phylis interjects, much to Nick’s delight.
This isn’t their call it’s Summer’s and she shouldn’t be pressured into this. Summer calls it Kyle’s call too.
Nick has a theory that Summer’s taking the anger out on Claire because she can’t take it out on Jordan.
Nick doesn’t think Claire’s a threat and worries her son is picking up on the negative vibes.
Summer never badmouths her in front of him. She’s had a bad vibe about the woman before the kidnapping. Nick asks his kid to let it all go.
At the tack house, Victoria and Claire are happy that Nikki’s back to herself, even though it’ll be a while until she’s 100%.
Claire feels guilty but Victoria doesn’t blame her.
In fact, if it weren’t for Jordan, they’d never have found Claire.
Cole pops up and greets the ladies before Michael texts to tell him to stay close because this could happen fast.
He looks like he’s keeping a secret and when they question him, it’s obvious he’s lying that he has a meeting.
Claire thinks Oxford wants him back but she wishes he’d stay.
So does Vicky. Cole’s not leaving.
He’s extended his sabbatical.
The women notice he’s jumpy but he covers and then flubs when he talks about Jordan not coming after them.
They remind him she’s dead and Claire asks if he thinks otherwise.
He lies that he doesn’t. They discuss Claire being afraid of learning to ride but Victoria assures her daughter that Cole’s a good teacher.
She asks them both to give her a lesson now but Michael texts that they need to get moving.
Michael welcomes Nikki home at the ranch. She looks wonderful.
Nikki feels wonderful and says she has a lot of work to do.
She’ll have daily mandatory meetings as an outpatient. Victor’s supportive.
Nikki calls Lauren a godsend for standing up for her at Newman.
She owes her a lunch.
Michael suggests they do it now.
Michael will make reservations and talks about having to make an adjustment on a German contract.
He’ll stay there to do it and meet them at Society.
They take off.

At Chancellor Park, Harrison asks Kyle why birds can’t fly. He’s not sure but does the chicken dance to make his kid laugh.
Harrison hides behind his father, thinking he sees “the witch,” but it’s just a woman who looks like Jordan.
They realize it when she walks by.
Harrison starts to worry about Claire and Kyle vows nothing like that will happen to him again.
Jordan’s gone. Harrison asks why Mommy doesn’t like Claire.
Kyle says she was worried when he was taken and needs time to come to grips with it.
Harrison seems satisfied with that and wants to call Claire to come to the carnival with him.
Back at the ranch, Michael texts Cole that it’s time to move as he searches for the secret panel.
Cole begs off the lesson and looks suspicious to his family before he takes off from the tack house to the ranch.
He’ll meet them later.
Cole finds Michael in the hall and they head down to the dungeon.
Michael’s dumbfounded by what Victor has done with the room and the cell.
Jordan wakes up and snipes that Cole abandoned her.
She asks why the Newman lawyer is with him.
Michael tells her they’re there to take her out of there and will put her in a real prison.
Jordan’s visibly grateful but her happiness turns sour when Victor waltzes in.
“I’ll be damned if I’ll let that happen.”
The men look on in shock.
Jordan’s crushed by his appearance.
Back at Society, Summer and Nick hug Nikki when she and Victor arrive.
Nikki invites them to join them.
“Even me?” Phyllis asks. Nikki smiles. “Even you!” Victor gets a text and has to go — it’s business.
He takes off leaving Nikki worried.
Everyone fawns over how good Nikki looks and Phyllis asks what her secret is.
“Alcoholism,” Nikki deadpans.
She fills her in on her rehab and Phyllis respects that and welcomes her ex-mother-in-law home. Nikki smiles.
They discuss the kidnapping and how Summer and Harrison are doing.
She knows the worst thing is being a parent and seeing her kids suffer.
Phyllis asks Nikki to tell her a little about Claire and how she’s not holding a grudge.
Nikki says she had doubts but they’ve come around.
Claire’s sweet and caring and Nikki thinks Summer will see it soon.
Outside at the ranch, Victoria tells Claire that Midnight Blue, the horse, has taken to her.
Claire calls the horse smart and gentle.
She sometimes thinks of how things would have been if she had grown up with her parents.
Victoria seems sad.
She thinks about it too.
She felt so empty when they thought they lost her.
Reliving it was painful.
The love she had for her kept her alive.
This is a precious gift and she’ll never take it for granted. Claire sniffs.
She forgets how much Jordan took from her mother.
Victoria says she’ll never be able to take anything from them again.
They wait for Cole and talk about how preoccupied he is.
Claire doubts it’s another woman and Victoria grins.
That thought never came to her mind. Claire smiles.
She can tell her mama is hooked on dad.
Victoria admits to feeling a connection but she’s not sure where they’re going.
They’re in no hurry. Claire’s shocked they talked to hear this and pleased.
Kyle calls and invites Claire to the carnival on Harrison’s behalf.
She likes the idea but doesn’t want to cause trouble. Kyle assures her it won’t. It’s the last day of the carnival. She’ll head right over.
Claire arrives at Chancellor Park and Harrison hugs her.
They head on the Ferris Wheel and have a great time together.
Summer sits on a bench at the park and thinks about her talk with her parents.
She spots Kyle, Claire and Harrison talking about going to the carnival.
Kyle takes Summer aside and shares what happened.
Summer thanks Claire for being there for Harrison.
Claire hopes it’s okay she’s hanging out with him.
Summer says yes, Harrison seems happy and that’s what’s most important.
Summer asks her to get together later to discuss something more regular.
It’s time to get back to normal.
“We can see how it goes.” She thinks anyone that can make Harrison smile like that deserves to be in Harrison’s life. Harrison cheers.

Billy’s in Lily’s office and asks his mother Jill what they do now.
Jill tells her son to keep this to himself for now. “I don’t want Lily to know.”
At the Athletic Club in a room, Alan tells Ashley that these personalities think they’re protecting her.
But the fact that they exist at all means there’s something terribly wrong.
Ashley asks what they’re protecting her from.
