In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Jack and Traci wonder who to trust, Sally is not swayed by Adam’s pitch, and Nick tells Sharon that he’s been seeing Sally. In the previous episode, Nate begged Elena for another chance, but she rejected him, and Adam blew his bid to win back Sally.

At Society, Jack asks Tucker to join him. Jack makes it clear their chat is only a necessary evil and he wishes his sister had thrown a drink in his face.
Tucker admires how protective he is of his sister and assures him his intentions toward her are genuine. Jack isn’t impressed and says Ashley has made her feelings clear.
McCall hopes he keeps an open mind in case she changes hers. The Abbott wants to know about the timing of his return and whether it involves Diane.
Tucker groans and Jack tells him there’s a rumor he was in touch with her in LA. Avoiding any clear answers only makes Jack more suspicious.
Tucker wonders why he would want any contact with her given she made him a murder suspect. Jack still doesn’t understand why he’s avoiding a direct answer.
Diane shows up, surprised to see them dining together.
Jack offers her a seat and asks her about all the speculation putting them together. Outraged, Diane says she’s sick on people trying to dig up dirt on her.
He notices she’s not denying it either. Tucker notes the tension between them, but Diane insists she saw him for the first time at the wedding since he “death.”
After Jack departs, Tucker gives her a little round of applause. He admires her ability to lie right to Jack’s face.
She’s upset. He’s dismissive. Diane is confident that Nikki and Phyllis started these rumors. They are both sure there is no evidence.
He suggests she take a deep breath. They can handle everyone’s suspicions.
“There is no ‘we’ anymore,” she says. He laughs. She didn’t think she’d have to keep tabs on the Abbotts after Ashley returned. Their agreement is concluded.
“My dear Diane, I respectfully disagree,” he says. She reminds him they had a deal but he doesn’t think she fulfilled her end of it.
He still needs her to do what he has to say and will be in touch.
Nick strolls into Crimson Lights and talks to Sharon about Faith settling in at college. As she gets him some tea, she asks if things are okay.
With some vagueness, he tells her that he’s in the early stages of seeing someone new. She senses it isn’t very fun at the moment.
Her head drops when he announces it’s Sally. She guesses she should be more shocked but remembered having a deep conversation with her and he came up.
Nick wasn’t planning on this happening, but they became friendly, and it turned into something else. Sharon says Sally is “interesting.”
He guesses she’s holding something back. She admits that she can’t help wondering how much of this is really about Adam.
He claims it has nothing to do with him, but she points out they tend to get involved with the same women and runs down the list.
Nick says that he’s involved with her in spite of his brother. Sally is no damsel in distress and doesn’t need rescuing. He’s trying to give her space to figure things out.
Sharon guesses he’s more invested in this than he wants to admit.
“I’ll be fine,” he says.

On the rooftop of the Grand Phoenix, Adam concedes to Sally that he messed things up but everything he has said about loving her is true.
This is all very real for him. He’s putting his heart in her hands and that’s scary as hell. There’s no risk he wouldn’t take to prove himself to her.
Taking her hand, he begs for the chance to get past this. She doesn’t think they can and asks him to let her leave.
He knows bringing up his brother was a mistake. She accuses him of not being able to stand the thought of her with Nick. He admits it kills him and not just because he’s his brother.
Sally suggests he’s being competitive, but he insists he values her for herself.
She’s heard enough for tonight and he needs to stay away for both of their sakes.
After he unlocks the door, she immediately exits.
He loosens his tie and drinks.
When he falls asleep, he dreams of Sally returning and him telling her how she filled the void in his life. They fit together perfectly.
As he takes her hand, Nick shows up and orders him to leave her alone. He won’t let him destroy her like everything else he touches. Adam wakes up and looks at the sky.
Sally returns to her office and admits to Chloe that Adam tricked her into having dinner with him. Chloe says Nick was a rock and thought it would be good for them to talk it out.
Sally admits she read Adam the riot act and then they talked it out. They reminisced. He was thoughtful. It was good. “Ah crap!” groans Chloe.
Sally thanks her for being concerned and takes off.
On her way out, she sends a text to Nick.
Jack heads home and finds Traci reading on the couch. After she tells him their sister has gone to bed, she admits she’s a little worried about her. She’s not sure she’s as immune to Tucker’s charms as she claims.
Jack admits he has those worries too, but is taking her at her word that she’s not interested in him. They discuss the speculations connecting Diane to Tucker.
Drinking, they mull over the rumors. He explains Diane looked him in the eye and claimed they have no connection.
“Do you believe her?” Traci asks.
She suggests he go on as he has been. There might be nothing to the suspicions and the situation with Kyle and Diane doesn’t have to change.
He thanks her for the sage advice.
Sally meets with Nick on the patio of Crimson Lights. She tells him about her conversation with Chloe and about her dinner with Adam.
She heard him out and he made a heartfelt pitch for one more chance. Nick knows he’s still in love with her.
Sally admits she’s confused. They had something special until he blew it up. She doesn’t know how she can trust him. Plus, she can’t get Nick out of her head.
He knows this is getting messy and that’s not what either of them want. They should probably pull the plug and go their separate ways.
She agrees. It could be time to walk away. They hug. Summer walks in on them.
When Tucker returns to his suite at the GCAC, he finds Audra waiting for him. He thought for a moment she might have given away their secret to Devon.
She tells it was Nate who was giving away information on the company. Nate’s betrayal will have a major impact on his plans.
Going public will be delayed. But there is a larger problem. A rival CEO is interested in a takeover. He assumes it’s Victoria and wonders if she’s as formidable as her father. Audra thinks that’s unlikely.
