Days of our Lives Peacock recap for Monday, October 17, 2022.
In today’s Days episode, Rafe admonishes Nicole for hugging Eric, Rex gets the serum tested and Kristen and Chloe have it out over Brady.
In Friday’s Days recap, Tripp and Joey returned to Salem to see Kayla, Brady agreed to Kristen’s terms to save Marlena’s life.
Monday…
Rex and Shawn are at the Salem PD offices, frustrated that they didn’t find anything when they searched Rolf’s laboratory.
Rex is determined to find something that will help find a cure for Marlena, Kayla and his mom.
Rafe enters and declares that he has good news. He tells them about the bottle of serum and the note that was dropped off at the station.
Chloe is at the auto shop apartment to talk to Kristen. She wants everything out in the open.
Kristen invites her in to discuss. For the sake of Brady and Rachel, Chloe wants to call a truce.
“A truce?” Kristen asks. “And then what? Shopping, lunches, spa days?”
No, Chloe says. But they can act like civil adults for Rachel’s sake.
Kristen reminds her that Rachel knows that Chloe ruined everything and is the reason Rachel can’t see her mother.
Chloe is sorry she feels that way. She tells Kristen that she’s appealing to her as one mom to another. She wants Kristen to work with her, for Rachel’s sake.
Chloe suggests that Kristen should tell Rachel that they all need to get along and Chloe will convince Brady to tell the judge that Kristen should have some visitation rights.
“Don’t you dare tell me what is best for my daughter!” Kristen shouts. “What is best for Rachel and I is that you are out of our lives for good.”
Chloe accuses Kristen of putting the note in Rachel’s lunchbox that said Chloe was to blame for Kristen not being able to see Rachel, but Kristen denies it.
She says that anyone could have written that note, but it wasn’t her. Maybe it was someone who was angry to see a mother separated from her child.
Chloe tells Kristen to cut the victim act. She’s been out to get Chloe since before she and Brady were even a couple.
Kristen accuses Chloe of somehow getting to the judge and throwing the case for Brady.
“You’re damn right it was my doing!” Chloe answers. “And if I had to do it again, I would do exactly the same thing.”
Kristen demands to know what Chloe did to turn the judge against her. Chloe admits to showing the judge the security video of Kristen attacking Chloe with a letter opener.
Kristen wonders how Brady will feel when he finds out what Chloe did, but Chloe tells her that she told Brady everything and he was thrilled.
Chloe continues to taunt Kristen and tells her how stupid it was for her to come after Chloe like that.
“You overplayed your hand, honey,” Chloe tells Kristen. “And Brady has your daughter all to himself.”
Kristen says that will blow up in Brady’s face because Rachel hates Chloe for what she did and is furious at Brady for being with Chloe.
Kristen thinks her daughter will turn against Brady and how will he feel about Chloe then?
Maybe Chloe could spare herself the heartache and just end things with Brady now, Kristen suggests.
Chloe says it won’t happen but Kristen thinks Brady will change his mind.
Kristen laughs it off because she doesn’t think Brady would sacrifice everything for Chloe.
Chloe says Brady wouldn’t end things with her because that would be playing into Kristen’s hands and he won’t let her win.
Kristen recalls her meeting with Brady in which she insisted that Brady break things off with Chloe and get back together with her.
Maybe Brady didn’t want Chloe to be the one to end things, Kristen suggests. Maybe he wanted to do it himself.
“You are truly deluded,” Chloe says.
Kristen counters that she wouldn’t be surprised if Brady finally realizes that his relationship with Chloe is too costly, but Chloe says that’s because of Kristen and her lack of decency.
Kristen questions what Chloe is doing here arguing with her instead of being with Brady at Marlena’s deathbed.
Chloe says nothing and walks out.
“Oh honey,” Kristen says. “Your bad day is just beginning.”
Eric is on the phone with Sami outside the Brady Pub. They talk about Marlena’s condition and Eric tells his sister not to worry. He promises to call if there’s any news and hangs up.
Nicole walks by and Eric turns to talk to her. Nicole hopes that he didn’t hang up on Sami on her account.
They discuss Marlena’s declining health and Nicole offers her condolences. She tells Eric that she was walking and just ended up at the pub.
Eric tells her that Kate and Kayla are also not doing well. He shares the details of Roman and Kate’s bedside marriage. She calls it lovely and heartbreaking. Eric thinks they looked so happy.
Nicole notes that even though Roman and Kate have been with other people, they always find their way back to each other. They are each other’s destiny, she supposes. He agrees some couples are like that. They lock eyes.
Eric needs to get back to the hospital, but Nicole wants to tell him something. It’s killing her to watch him go through this.
They talk about Marlena going through rough times before, and how she’s always there for Eric in his rough times, too. Now, Nicole wants to be the one who’s there for Eric when Marlena can’t be.
Eric says no, but Nicole tells him that this is strictly as friends. She’s married and…he’s with Jada. She wants to go to the hospital with Eric.
With tears in his eyes, Eric agrees and Nicole is overjoyed. Nobody knows him the way she does. Eric notes that she always shows up when he needs her the most.
Nicole goes in for a long hug, just as shocked Rafe walks into the scene.
Nicole pulls away when she sees her husband. Rafe tells them about the bottle of serum.
Eric is thrilled and runs off to join his family at the hospital, leaving a flustered Nicole and Rafe alone.
Nicole hopes that the serum is the cure everyone is hoping for.
“Yeah, that would be great,” Rafe says. “And then maybe I can stop finding you in Eric’s arms.”
Nicole is surprised but Rafe tells her that he’s tired of walking in on Nicole and Eric in each other’s arms. He reminds her that this just happened the night before.
Nicole tries to explain that Eric just told her that his mother is dying, but Rafe isn’t buying it.
“There’s always an explanation,” Rafe says. “Or maybe I should say an excuse.”
Nicole asks if she’ll always need a reason to offer sympathy to a friend but Rafe reminds her that Eric isn’t just someone, he’s her ex-husband.

Rafe reminds her of how she was in such a hurry to marry him and forgo the big wedding she wanted. Nicole says just wanted to avoid the pressure it would bring.
Rafe thinks it was because she had just spent the day with Eric at Abe and Paulina’s wedding, but Nicole says the wedding inspired her to move quickly with Rafe.
Rafe isn’t buying it and thinks maybe their marriage was a mistake.
Nicole tries to argue with Rafe, but he’s not interested. He thinks that Nicole married him so that she could stop pining for Eric.
Nicole denies his accusation and declares her love for Rafe.
Peacock
At the hospital, John has the brown bottle with the serum but he’s convinced it’s another trick from Orpheus. Brady and Jada try to talk him down and hand over the bottle.
John shows his son the note that came with the bottle explaining that it’s the serum from the same orchid that saved Roman 25 years ago, but John doesn’t believe it.
Brady thinks it’s what they’ve been praying for. John wonders why the hell he thinks that and Brady recalls his earlier conversation with Kristen in which she told him that she moved the orchid before the cops showed up to search Rolf’s lab.
Brady tells his dad they have no other option but to try the serum.
Jada agrees. She tells John that if Marlena died and the serum turned out to be the real deal, he’d never forgive himself.
Rex and Shawn show up at the hospital. Rex asks John for the bottle so he can test the serum, but John says there’s not enough time.
John agrees and Rex runs off with the bottle to get it tested. He and Shawn exit to join Belle in Marlena’s room while Jada asks Brady if he has any idea who wrote the note that came with the bottle when it was dropped off at the police station.
Brady recalls his conversation with Kristen about the serum but denies to Jada that he knows where the note came from and was very insistent that the serum be used. Brady’s just concerned about the women.
Jada asks Brady if has any doubts about the serum. He says he does and then exits to go check on the lab’s testing progress on the serum. Jada seems unconvinced as she watches him walk away.
In Marlena’s room, an anxious Belle wants to know if the search of Rolf’s lab turned up anything.
Shawn tells her the search found nothing but he and John share the news of the mystery bottle of serum and the note.
Marlena awakens and Shawn takes her hand and sits at her bedside. He apologizes for not being there before now. John says it’s because he’s been working around the clock to help her.
Marlena asks Shawn to promise her that he’ll take care of Belle. A tearful Belle turns away.
Marlena is weary and can barely keep her eyes open.
Eric finds Jada at the hub and she updates him on what’s happening. He thanks her for her hard work.
Jada wanted to be the hero that solves this case and she just might be, Eric says.
He asks Jada to go get Kate and bring her to the hospital so they can administer the serum as quickly as possible. She agrees and exits.
Brady finds Rex at the hospital. Brady tells him that the lab analysis revealed that it’s a close match to the serum that saved Roman 25 years ago.
Rex, Brady and Eric enter Marlena’s hospital room. Rex updates them on the news that the serum is a close match to the original.
Rex is 95% sure the serum is the real deal.
John is worried about the risk involved and wonders if they need more testing. Rex says they don’t have time and his gut is telling him to administer the serum to Marlena, Kate and Kayla right now.
Marlena opens her eyes and says she wants to get the serum and they’ll see what happens.
John says Marlena isn’t expected to be a guinea pig, but Marlena says she’s volunteering. She thinks she should get the serum right away. If it works, they’ll give it to the other women.
Rex asks everyone to leave the room. Marlena tells Eric to do last rites if things take a turn for the worst. Everyone seems worse off after hearing that and they file out.
John kisses Marlena and the forehead and tells her she is the one great love of his life.
Back outside the pub, Jada walks in on Rafe and Nicole’s conversation. She hears Rafe yell that he doesn’t want Eric working with his wife, and hides to eavesdrop.
Nicole asks when Rafe became a caveman. Rafe reminds her it’s Eric they’re talking about.
Does she think it’s a good idea to work closely with him? She doesn’t think Rafe trusts her and he admits that in this situation, he doesn’t.
Nicole wants to talk about it but Rafe says there’s nothing to say and walks away.
Chloe finds Brady at the hospital. He updates her on the news of the serum being turned in at the cop shop.
Chloe wants to know where the serum came from, but Brady is saved from answering by his phone ringing. Brady lies that it’s Paul and walks away to take a call from Kristen, checking in.
Kristen tells Brady that she had the serum delivered. She’s upheld her part of the bargain and now it’s time for him to dump Chloe.
Meanwhile, in Marlena’s room, Rex asks Marlena if she’s sure she wants the serum. Her mind is made up.
Rex injects her IV tube and Marlena looks anxious.
