Wednesday, August 16, Y&R day ahead recap: Nick vents to Sharon about Adam, Adam tells Sally he would have offered her a job, and Billy asks Victoria if she can trust Nate.
Tuesday’s Y&R day ahead: Victor reconsidered his relationship with Adam, Nate attempted to reassure a skeptical Victoria, and Adam warned Audra and Kyle.

Nick arrives at Crimson Lights and informs Sharon that Adam has been resorting to blackmail and Victor is refusing to fire him. He’s sure his brother is more of a liability than ever and his father won’t do anything about it.
She says it’s no surprise. This is all par for the course. They want this to work and have to figure out how. She guesses there is more and asks what it is.
Even if Adam is going about it in a despicable way, he wants what they want: huge success. He thinks it’s mostly about sticking it to Victoria. Nick is taking all of this personally.
She suspects that Victor’s objection to the merger is mostly about keeping Adam in his place.
Nick can’t stand his brother undermining everything.
She says their company is off to a stronger start than Adam could compromise and suggests she’s making this person. Nick refuses to trust his brother in business or with Sally. He can’t stand him putting Sally in an awkward position.
Sharon says there’s nothing any of them can do about Adam’s feelings. She suggests he can’t let go of his hatred for his brother.
She’s sure that Sally can stop Adam from getting under her skin and he should be able to do that too.
He’s tired of his brother always being there.
Sharon says every time he lets him get to him, he wins. He’s always reactive.
It’s better to focus on what he can control.
He agrees to focus on business, like changing the stupid name. He suggests they call themselves SNA Media. She loves it. He hopes Adam hates it and quits.
Adam bumps into sally at Society. She tells him she’s accepting his father’s job offer today and is excited about it. He hopes it’s everything she wants.
She reminds him there was something he wanted to discuss before Nick interrupted.
They sit and he explains he was going to try to convince her to work with him after the merger. Now he doesn’t know when or if the merger will happen and his days at Adustus are numbered.
She hopes he’s being paranoid. He guesses that he’s on thin ice. He was just going after something he believed in but it didn’t work.
Sally is sure he’s trying to prove himself to his father and says he can admit that. He wonders if admitting things to himself is a step to losing them.
She admits she was up all night wondering if he wanted to beg for another chance. It hadn’t occurred to her that he would offer her a job.
He wonders if she was disappointed.
Spectra won’t answer that but suggests that he just do his job and stop making trouble and acting like he’s five. Maybe it’s time to give up the rush of creating chaos?
He admires they way she has outgrown her old tendencies. She doesn’t think they can work together any more than they can be together. It’s impossible for him to separate his emotions from other things.
She may not feel the way she used to, but it doesn’t make her happy to see him hurting.
He doesn’t blame her for turning him down and is sure she will knock it out of the park with his dad.
She needs to get to the ranch. He’s happy for her. Before she goes, she tells him they have gotten through the worst of losing Ava and she’s getting past being angry at him.
Adam thanks her. That means a lot.
Adam heads to Crimson Lights to meet with his partners.
They tell him they have found the perfect office location. He thinks that sounds great.
Sharon adds they have also decided to change the name to SNA Media.
He laughs and then says it’s good, admitting Adustus was a stupid name. Nick is shocked.
Adam is sure they were expecting him to fight but he’s tired and doesn’t want to ruin what they are building. It’s all he has left.

Over breakfast at the GCAC, Billy and Victoria debate the plans to send the kids to boarding school. He wonders if she is eager to send them off to spend more time with Nate.
She accuses him of always having a problem with them men she dates. He points out he’s rarely been wrong about that and guesses something is going on.
They back down and compliment each other as parents but he can’t help think she deserves better than the men she gets involved with.
She admits that compared to the other men, he wasn’t so bad.
He urges her to talk to him if something is wrong. She admits something is not quite right and explains that Nate tried to parlay some information into a business move.
He kept that from her and she wonders if she can trust him.
They talk about how ruthless Nate can be.
She’s sure he would sell out Audra and almost anyone in a heartbeat.
Billy wonders if that includes her. She’s adamant it doesn’t. His fantasy is to run an empire with her.
Billy thinks anyone with that kind of hubris is a little dangerous. He knows. That leaves a lot of collateral damage and she’s had enough of that for a lifetime.
Nate stops by the ranch to clarify everything that happened with Audra.
If things aren’t okay between them, he wants the chance to make them right.
Nate knows he screwed up at Chancellor-Winters, but his loyalty at Newman is to the company and Victoria. When this Audra thing came up, his only concern was to protect them.
He also found Adam’s attempt to blackmail Audra despicable.
Victor appreciates him coming to speak to him face-to-face and his loyalty.
For the time being, they are good. He hands him a folder of financial projections for Adustus and asks him for feedback.
Nate goes to the office and tells Victoria about his meeting with her father.
She squints when he tells her it went well. She’s too busy to discuss this right now.
When she brings up boarding school, he tells her she’s right to think they should go and goes on about equestrianism.
She’s surprised that he’s been listening so closely to the things she says about her kids.
He says he’s genuinely interested in her kids and he wants to smooth things over with her.
He feels like something has shifted between them. Victoria won’t deny it. Trust is more important than anything.
Nate “regrets the hell” out of what he did and wants the chance to make things right.
He’s got too much to lose and he’s not just talking about his job.
They have an extraordinary connection. He’s tried not to let his feelings jeopardize that but their attraction is becoming more important to him every day.
She can understand what he did but feels lied to.
He admits he wouldn’t have told her anything until it was all resolved. He wanted her to admire him the way he admires her.
“I want to be worthy of you because I’m falling in love with you,” he says. She squints.
His boss admits she has no idea what she’s feeling right now.
She can’t shrug off what he did. He promises to do all he can to regain her respect.
She can’t deal with this now and sends him away.
He buttons his jacket and sighs.
When Sally gets to the ranch, she tells Victor she’s taking him up on his job offer. He’s sorry to hear that.
Spectra is baffled. He gets her to sit down and explains there won’t be a design division because he’s devoting all his energy to straightening out Adustus and making his sons work together.
There will never be a design division.
She points out she can’t go back to her old job since he already replaced her.
She asks if he did this to her as punishment. He claims he just did this for the good of the company and dismisses her, wishing her luck.
