Canadian Y&R day ahead recap from the Monday, April 19, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Tuesday, April 20. On today’s episode, Lauren gives Sally some hard and fast advice, Traci and Abby bond, and Sharon is ready to talk to Rey.
Sally walks in on a meeting between Lauren and Jack. It’s awkward and when Jack leaves, Lauren admits Jack told her they weren’t together. Sally thinks he hates her but Lauren says he doesn’t. He’s dismayed with her the way she is. Sally wants to be the person Jack saw. She wishes he’d forgive her and give her another chance. Lauren asks why it’s important. “Because I have fallen in love with him.” Lauren thinks she’s infatuated, not in love. “And honestly, sometimes you have to know when it’s time to move on.” She tells her it was fun while it lasted but it’s over. Sally looks offended.
At Crimson Lights, Rey gets a call from Sharon who asks when he’ll be home. He has to go back to the station so he’ll see her later. He disconnects and Lola appears. He seems down. He admits to the problems he and Sharon are having because of Adam and he’s moving out. She’s sorry and invites him to stay with her. She hopes they have a breakthrough moment and decides to stay. She urges him to fight since he doesn’t seem set on what his future is going to look like yet without Sharon.

Traci arrives at the Chancellor mansion and thought they could all have lunch. Mariah’s still feeling sick. Traci understands. Abby worries when Mariah says she’s up to flying for a last-minute work trip. Abby tries to get her out of it but Mariah refuses to get out of it. Abby gives one of her fake smiles and worries that somehow her nausea will interfere. She backtracks with an apology. “You’re just practicing your helicopter mom skills.” Mariah goes and Abby admits to Traci that she’ll miss Mariah. Traci gives her some advice and they bond.
Kyle sees Tara at the club. He asks her to come to his room to talk. She’s nervous about that but reluctantly agrees to go up in five minutes. He heads up without her. She appears later and he tells her Ashland accused him of “sleeping” with her. He backed off. Tara knows that was bull. He thinks he’s been bested and turned cold and calculating. Dangerous. Kyle tells her Ashland is spreading misinformation about his company. Summer walks in and wonders what’s up. She’s not happy. Kyle worries for Tara but she can take care of herself. She tells him to stay away from her husband and goes. Kyle needs to face Ashland head on to tell him that “whatever anger he has, he needs to deal with and with me.” Summer disagrees. “Just avoid him. Tara and I agree that this is the best strategy right now.” She links her husband to a bull in a china shop. Kyle says he’ll talk to him and offer to leave Jabot if he leaves the company alone. Summer thinks another tactic like showing him that he’s committed to her will help to keep Ashland from feeling insecure. Kyle disagrees and thinks he knows how to handle Ashland.

Jack runs into Ashland at Society. Ashland alludes to the apple not falling far from the tree concerning Kyle and Jack. When Jack asks what the bloody hell he’s on about, Ashland says, “I just told you.” Jack sighs. He brings up someone spreading lies about his company exploiting workers. Ashland hasn’t heard a thing but isn’t sure why he’s asking him about this. Jack is surprised Ashland hasn’t heard but they’re rumors. Why would Ashland bother to listen to that? Jack thinks it makes Jabot look vulnerable to outside attacks and finds the timing intriguing. Later, Kyle passes Tara as he goes to find Ashland, while Summer makes a call to Jack to intervene. Soon, Kyle appears at Locke’s table. It’s time they had a talk…
Mariah stops by her mother’s who wants to hear every detail about the pregnancy. Mariah says later. She’s almost ready to head to the airport to leave town for a meeting. Sharon wants to celebrate when she’s back. Mariah admits she needs this trip. She wants a break from being the center of attention. They discuss Faith’s court appearance and how well it went. Sharon admits she and Rey have been arguing and she may have lost him. Mariah gets it. She’s chosen Adam over him before. Sharon swears it’s over.

Mariah drops by Society to ask Lola to discuss their shared concerns over Sharon and Rey’s marriage at length. “I think they genuinely still love each other,” Mariah says. Lola wishes there was a way they could help them. Mariah suggests they put their heads together and find out.

Rey returns home to tell Sharon about his talk with Lola. She shares that she had the same conversation with Mariah. Rey wishes they could work things out but Adam’s been in their relationship as a third wheel the entire time. Sharon asks if he’s willing to talk. She tells him she can see their future and buy a vacation home in the mountains. She can see them “making love and gazing out at a sky that looks like something out of a dream, holding hands on the front porch.” That’s the life she wants. He used to want that too but he’s having a hard time seeing it now. A call comes in and he urges her to take it. She looks upset and Rey says, “Is it Adam?” She nods. Rey asks for the phone and tells him he’ll find him. “Don’t hide from me. I will find you.” Adam disconnects and Sharon wants to talk some more but this is it for him. He can’t stay there tonight. He takes off to pack.
