In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Nick and Victor discuss the investigation and Nick’s feelings on killing Locke, while Billy talks with Lily about his career, and Victoria’s prepared to start anew.
In the previous episode, Chance gave up on the Locke case and Diane and Jack made out in her fantasy.

Victoria is ready for work at home when she flashes to Billy telling her there’s nothing she can’t conquer.
Nikki arrives with tea and breakfast and Victoria tells her mama that coming home was what she needed to start her new life. They should start planning for life after Ashland.
She’s mourned Ashland in her own way and feels free, or she’s starting to. Nikki’s not thrilled that her daughter had a drink with Billy.
Victoria wants to talk about Locke with their employees and put an end to rumors, and speculations about the future of their company.
Nikki’s concerned that there are those still loyal to him.
Vicky says it’s fine. Her true leadership at Newman is going to begin.
Nick goes to the ranch and tells Victor that the Locke investigation isn’t over for him, despite Chance ending it.
He’s trying to work through a man dying because of his actions. He was angry because his father protected him — covered it all up. Victor thinks Locke causes his own death.
Nick says maybe if you look at the full picture.
Still, Nick doesn’t like lying to the cops. He’s struggling. He knows his father was doing what he could to protect them. He didn’t know what went on in the house.
He barely had time to think, he says while his dad acted on instinct.
He worries about the risk but Victor tells him it’s fine. Abby interrupts and they talk about Chance making a difficult decision. Nick has to get to work and toddles off while Abby’s glad this is over. Victor intends on thanking Chance but Abby asks him not to.
Kevin rushes to Chance in the park and asks how the DA reacted when he basically handed them a guilty verdict.
Chance tells him he didn’t.
Kevin’s bowled over and listens as Chance explains it was his decision.
Kevin freaks out and they argue, each taking opposing sides on this.
Kevin says if it comes back to life, it’ll be serious blowback for them both. Kevin knows that Victor covered it up.
He tells Chance that his mother and brother and even himself as made mistakes and it always comes back to bite ya.
Chance tells him that nobody’s trying to get away with anything. They argue it some more until Chance says it’s time to move on.
He leaves for the station and Adam appears. “Kevin. Sounds like you’re in a tight spot.”

Billy catches Lily at work and gives her coffee. He wants to talk about his career.
He knows what he wants to be when he grows up.
He calls being in his recording studio unfair to her and the company.
She thanks him.
He says he’s making a course correction and found a replacement. She’s shocked.
He says, “A replacement as host of the Grinning Soul.”
Lily’s thrown. He’s staying on as CEO and ditching the podcast. She wants to ensure it’s what he wants, not what he thinks she wants to hear. It’s not. He says they live together.
He didn’t like the feeling that the connection between them was changing.
He assures her that he doesn’t want to take advantage of her and this situation. “This is where I want to be. This is what I want,” he says.
Chelsea catches Adam reading up on Ashland Locke’s death. She shrugs.
His family must be happy to have this behind them.
Adam says it’s his family’s hope that it’s behind them, but perhaps there’s more to it. Chloe arrives and it’s awkward so Adam tells the women he hopes they get back to being the dynamic duo.
He goes and the women talk about the podcast being cheaper than therapy.
Chelsea says she gets positive and negative comments and it’s like walking a tight rope.
She says when she feels she’ll lose her footing, Billy’s there.
She likes how cool it happened when she told him blatantly that his podcast was a dreadful bore and he hired her.
Chloe’s happy she found a safe place to land. She can see it’s what she needed.
They sit and discuss the change to Chelsea’s career and how proud Chloe is. Chloe thinks something is off for her friend. “Out with it.” Chelsea thinks it’s about Sally and offers to create a dress that gets tighter and more uncomfortable as the day goes on. They laugh and Billy turns up.
Chloe goes to refresh her drink and Chelsea wants to talk about her new idea for the podcast. Billy informs her he’s dumping the podcast for his CEO job. She’s stunned. She doesn’t like it and doesn’t want to do it alone. She took this job because he was fun.
He’s sorry it came out of left field but he made a commitment to Chancellor Industries.
Chelsea’s shocked he’s in a rush to get back to a world where he felt he didn’t belong. It doesn’t make sense to her. She’ll wait until he realizes it’s a mistake and says she’ll be there to tell him ‘I told ya so’. He leaves and Chloe returns after eavesdropping.
She knows they’ve work to do on their friendship but says this about Billy: “Do not go there.”
Adam comes upon Chance and Kevin in the park, talking animatedly about the Locke case. He hides behind the tree and eavesdrops.
Chance calls him a threat that night. His death was unintentional, whether it was in self-defense or a car accident.
He wasn’t going to drag the family through an ordeal that could have been a scandal for the real victim.
Victoria. Kevin agrees but it should have been the DA’s call. Not Chance’s.
He goes and Adam reveals himself. He heard everything and says Kevin should get out in front of this, right now.
Billy heads back to work and gifts Lily a yin and yang necklace, saying it’s because they fit together so well.
They make out.
Chance arrives at the ranch and kisses Abby who is going home. Victor thanks Chance.
Chance doesn’t want his thanks.
