In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Ashland makes demands of Adam and then goes to Victoria to ask her to take off with him, while Mariah and Tessa have a fashion show and Billy realizes he needs a new persona for his podcast. In the previous episode, Victoria confronted Locke about his betrayal and his lies about having cancer, and Ashland asked for forgiveness.

In her office, Victoria paces and recalls Ashland’s suggestion that they take the 500 million that Adam is offering and double-cross him and run with the money.
She looks at her portrait that Ashland gave to her and recalls Ashland telling her that it shows that she’s the one in power. She recalls how good it made her feel.
Adam visits Locke in his hotel suite at Grand Phoenix. Adam thinks he’s there to take the cash. Locke has terms and conditions but Adam says he’s in no position for that.
Accept the deal or answer to his family. Adam details that he relinquishes control and agrees to an annulment. He calls their marriage invalid, basically, the way he wormed his way into her life.
They’ll wire him money into his account. Ash asks why he should believe he’d make good on it. Adam says it’s in his good interest.
Ashland wants the money first, and then he’ll sign the agreement. Adam’s mouth drops open in surprise. How would that work? Ashland is the one who has done everyone dirty. They just want him out and Victor thinks 500 million is a good amount to get rid of him. “It’s non-negotiable.”
At Crimson Lights, Tessa talks to Mariah about going thrifting to find 70s clothes to wear to their wedding. Mariah’s unconvinced. “Matching white jumpsuits?” She asks. Mariah laughs. They take off to find their dream outfits.
Sally finds Lily at Society and tries to make small talk. Lily gives her the cold shoulder. Sally gets it. She wants to put that behind her. Lily calls it stalking and entrapment.
Sally tells her she’s learned that doing things on the up and up is the only way. She has intentions of gaining her respect. Lily says that’s fine but partnering with Adam will go against her.
Lily wishes her luck. Sally asks what she can do to change her mind. Now that she’s CEO of Newman-Locke, they’re running in the same circles. They may be doing business deals together.
Lily says getting along and being friends takes a level of trust. She hopes Sally’s a better person but she can only give second chances to those who show they deserve it. Sally will try her best. Lily laughs and says she has nerve at least.
At home, Billy starts his podcast, but he has issues getting anything interesting out. He looks at Victoria’s number and calls Nick. He wants to do something about Victoria’s issues but Nick tells him to stay out of it.
They disconnect and Billy goes back to his podcast and the abuse of power and privilege.
He says he’s worked hard not to be that person anymore, which is why it sickens him to see it. It’s like a mirror reflecting on himself and makes him want to fight for the victims.
He gets enraged when he sees people use their power to get more, and more. It makes him want to do something about it. He stops the podcast and can’t get Locke out of his mind.
He promised not to get involved in her personal life. He gets concerned about Jack and the pain Diane will wreak on his life. He gets back to the podcast and talks about people not needing much power to manipulate.
That some aren’t able to tell the truth but all they know is how to play games. What do you do with someone who deceives you in such a way that it destroys lives? He thinks there’s only one solution to all of this.

Nick goes to Victoria’s office. He heard from their mother that Ashland’s considering taking the deal for 500 million. Victoria is furious that Adam went behind her back and did this.
Nick reminds her that Ashland’s the bad guy. She can’t believe he’s siding with Adam but Nick isn’t. They’re all against Ashland.
He’s sick of the man and thinks it’s time he gets rid of the guy himself. Victoria shouts, “Don’t you dare!” She wants him to stay out of it. It won’t accomplish anything. Nick’s so concerned for her and this situation is out of control.
He knows it’s taking a toll. She knows he has her best interests at heart but she thinks he could make things worse if he attacks Ashland. She admits they need to let Adam play out this offer. ”
Ashland can’t crush me. I’m stronger than you all think I am.” He knows. Ashland walks in and sighs, seeing Nick coming to his wife’s rescue.
“When are you gonna learn Nick. She doesn’t need this?” Nick asks if there’s an ounce of decency inside him. Ash says not to worry.
He won’t have to deal with him much longer. “I better not,” Nick says before he goes. Victoria asks what he told Adam. He first needs to know if she’s willing to walk away from this and come away with him.
He tells her they want them to annul their marriage and he has to release control of Newman. He is fine with letting go of the company but not her.
He’ll dissolve their marriage, but his feelings for her can’t be signed away or bought. “Do you love me?” She tells him yes, “Of course I love you.”
She tells him she’s willing to walk away — with him. She cries and he hugs her. Ashland calls Adam and asks him to get the paperwork drawn up.
Mariah and Tessa arrive home with loads of bags of goodies from the thrift shops. They each picked out some cool outfits they thought each other would look good at.
They try them on and laugh and though they didn’t find their outfits, they found a lot of inspiration. They snuggle on the sofa and Mariah kisses Tessa’s head. “This day is going to be so perfect,” Tessa says.
They start piles of clothes that they want to keep and ones they don’t. They discuss how Sharon’s excited to help them.
Tessa calls it one hell of a party. They discuss vows. Tessa’s got some but she’s keeping quiet. It makes Mariah nervous since she’s a songwriter. Her vows will be better than hers. Tessa tells her to stop that.
When she speaks from the heart it’s the most beautiful thing. They kiss and after they have sex, they talk about adopting.
They haven’t done much about it since they started wedding planning. Mariah’s not sure she can do it all right now.
Tessa thinks a few months after marriage and they’ll do it, after her tour. They still want to have a baby. They kiss.
Adam heads into his office, angry. He tells Sally that Ashland won’t commit to the deal. The word annulment got under his skin more than the prospect of losing control of Newman.
Sally thinks he might really have feelings for Vicky. Adam says they got caught up in arguing logistics. In the end, he had to do one more thing before he agreed to anything. He bets it has to do with Victoria.
Lily arrives home with food for her and Billy. She tells him about her run-in with Sally. They pooh pooh the idea of Sally befriending her and Billy tells her that he figured out a way to turn his one podcast into two.
She’s shocked. They drink some vino and he tells her about his discussion about the abuse of power which leads him to talk about Locke and Diane. He realizes he needs a persona.
A pseudonym. He’ll be able to speak freely. He can change his voice. Lily’s into it. “Might be fun.”
Billy tries a few voice changers later on and has a bit of fun with how funny they sound. He finds one that works for him that doesn’t sound like him. He talks again about power and if it destroys.

Chelsea asks Sharon if she’s okay with Rey going on a trip with her. Sharon asks, “Why wouldn’t I be okay with that?”
Ashland goes into Adam’s office. Victor and Adam wait for him and Adam says, “We’ve been expecting you.”
Victoria is in her car when a bright light comes out of nowhere and she crashes her car. Nikki’s on a call with her and yells, “Victoria? Victoria!”
