General Hospital recap for Wednesday, April 13, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Cam and Joss are startled, Sonny makes Phyllis an offer, and Esme tells Nikolas about her childhood.
We also have Monday’s GH recap where Harmony got threatening when blackmailed and Trina encouraged Ava not to blow up her marriage.
Sam and Dante arrive at the Metro Court. He wanted to bring her there to do something special. She wonders why. They get drinks at the bar. The cop tells her he just wanted to make sure she knows how lucky he is to have her in his life.
The PI wants to de-stress him and starts probing about his work day. He’s not saying much.
Obrecht, Scott, Nina, and Britt have dinner. They hope it will not be a night of Liesl lecturing them. Scott offers to leave them alone to have a ladies night. Liesl insists he’s part of the family now.
Ava runs in and tells the lawyer she needs to speak to him immediately. Once she drags him away, Obrecht starts quizzing Britt about her dating life. Nina teases her for a moment and takes off.
Ava asks Scott to arrange for Spencer to make his restitution somewhere other than the gallery. She won’t let him hurt Trina anymore. He’s not sure the courts will take much interest in some teenage discomfort.
Jerome strides over to Dante and takes him aside, asking him to stop wasting resources on the case against Trina. He points out that this is not his investigation. All he can say is they are following the evidence.
Ava doesn’t like that answer and storms off as he heads back to Sam. He tells her Ava may have been out of line, but she was also right. Dante promises to do everything in his power to make sure the right person is punished.
When Sam is momentarily left alone, she hears Dante’s phone get a text. She opens it and sees it’s about the evidence in Trina’s case. Sam hacks in.
Scott returns to Liesl and her daughter. Britt is grossed out by them making out. She wanders off and starts looking through messages from the dating service.
Liesl calls Dante over and orders him to arrest Sonny for threatening Scott. He’s not going to do that. Scott suggests he try corralling his father. When Dante returns to Sam, he catches her on his phone.
Meanwhile, Britt tells Liesl she’s happy she’s found love. She received some possible matches herself. Obrecht offers to look them over.
At the Webber house, Joss complains to Cam about the pain that Trina is in. They need to find evidence to clear her. He starts offering her his brother’s carrot ginger cookies. She hadn’t heard of them because she dropped out of social media.
Getting up, she vents about how insane it is that Trina is going to trial. They have to find evidence against Esme before it’s too late. When they start making out, she pushes him away, sensing that someone is there.
They search the house but there is no one. Cam worries he’s pushing too hard but she assures him he’s not. She feels safe around him and she won’t let the video get between them.
He gets a call from Lila’s Kids informing him he can’t be a camp counsellor this summer because of the sex tape. Joss blames this on Esme.
Cam needs to study for a history exam. She repeats they need to prove Esme is responsible.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas assures Esme that he wants her to stay. She hopes she can help him heal things with his son. The more time she spends with him, the more she realizes what a great father he is.
She tells him about her lonely childhood without a mother. The prince knows how she feels. Esme feels like her birth parents through her away. He tells her that children don’t have to earn their parents’ love and they may have wanted to keep her.
Esme explains that she was close to her nanny Maggie but they lost touch. She’s sure Maggie and Spencer would have liked each other. Maggie would have been happy she found someone to love her… briefly.
Later, Ava arrives and finds her husband thinking alone. He tells her about his interesting conversation with Esme. Nikolas says he pretended to buy all of it. The more they know the better. Ava already knows more than she wants to.
When she wants to go to bed, he wants to join her. Ava still has no intention of sharing a room with her. Nikolas says they are both passionate and say things they don’t mean. This isn’t foreplay for her. As long as Esme is in the house, his bed will be cold.
She adds that there won’t be a vow renewal ceremony. Any vow he could make to her right now would be meaningless.
In her room, Esme goes through some old letters, including one from Maggie warning her to stay away from her father.
Arriving at the gallery, Spencer is surprised to find that only Trina is there. She says he can go. When he doesn’t, he says it’s because he’s waiting for her. She accuses him of staying with Esme knowing what she’s done, and accusing her of betraying her friends when he knows it’s not true.
He reminds her she was drunk at the cabin and doesn’t know what happened. She points out that she was with him in the graveyard when the video was released. He wonders if she’s told her lawyer that he’s her alibi.
She says it hasn’t come out yet but she will tell Scott when it does. He admits that it’s hard for him to believe she would have made the video but he won’t blame Esme. Trina doesn’t think there are any other options.
“I’m not defending Esme. I’m doing this for you!” he tells her. Spencer explains he is only pretending to be with Esme so he can get evidence to clear Trina’s name. He asked her to move in with her for that reason.
Trina asks why he’s helping her. “Because I’m falling in love with you,” he admits. As they are about to kiss, she snaps out of this fantasy and returns to their argument.
He wishes this wasn’t happening to her but she can’t blame Esme for everything bad that happens in her life. Trina shoves him and orders him out.

At Charlie’s, Sonny introduces Brando and Sasha to Phyllis. Since they just got married, she offers them drinks on the house. She pays her condolences for the loss of their son.
The couple announce they are looking for their new home. Sonny and Phyllis wish them luck and head for the bar. They talk about how the newlyweds are doing and then he asks how things are with her.
Phyllis is amazed how much Port Charles now feels like home. He says that’s good and then asks if she’s happy there. She is so he asks her to take Charlie’s off his hands. Phyllis can’t afford to buy it, but he says the price is more than reasonable.
He’ll charge her a hundred dollars. It would be free but the tax man would come after her. This is just the start of him repaying her for giving him a home. Nina strolls in.
Back at their table, Brando knows that Phyllis’ mention of their son upset her. She’s sure Phyllis was just being kind. Nina joins them and compliments her on her speech at the launch party.
Brando and Sasha discuss housing. She starts to worry she’s pushed him into getting married. He assures her he would do anything for her. They kiss.
Nina joins Sonny and Phyllis, who is trying to turn down his offer. Nina encourages her to take it so she will stay in town. Phyllis agrees. Sonny sends his bodyguard with her to the bank.
Sonny tells Nina about his conversation with Scott. Suddenly, two masked men with guns burst in and order them not to do anything stupid or the won’t live.
