General Hospital recap for Friday, August 19, 2022. In today’s GH episode, Finn tells his father about his issues with Liz, Dante tells Olivia about his problems with Sam, and the Davis women catch up over lunch.
We also have Thursday’s GH recap where Britt gave Cody another shot, Liz had another disturbing flashback, and Anna threatened Lucy .
Finn fusses over Violet by the pool. Once she has a hat and a book, he tells his father that he told Liz he loves her.
That was a big step and now he can’t look the other way.
She reciprocated but then he messed it up. Something is wrong beyond the sleeping pills she’s been taking.
His father wonders if he should drop the subject of her parents. Finn is sure her issues involve her family. Violet asks if she’s seeing ghosts again.
They gloss over that and Finn has to head back to work.
Alexis and her daughter meet at Kelly’s. Kristina announces she was promoted to manager at Charlie’s. She’s been spending some time with her dad but isn’t crazy about his new relationship.
Alexis admires how grown-up she is.
Molly gabs about her work in the DA’s office and how unfair it was that she wasn’t allowed to work on Trina’s case. At least it ended with the right verdict.
Now Molly wants to follow her mom’s footsteps and go into defense.
They notice Sam is strangely quiet and starts interrogating her about Dante. Sam admits they were happy until he suggested they move in together.
Her sisters don’t understand what’s wrong with that. Sam can’t handle visiting his house because it’s full of Lulu’s stuff.
Her mom is sure that Dante isn’t seeing Lulu when he sees her. Sam gets a text and takes off.
Gregory and Violet walk by. The girls ask Violet to join them. Gregory doesn’t want to “pester” Alexis but she asks them to stay.
Alexis and Gregory tease each other.
By the pool, Maxie tells Spinelli that he should be finding a woman appropriate to his personality.
He says his infatuation with Britt is already fading. She wonders who he has moved on to. He’s vague.
Austin shows up. He got through his business in Pautauk faster than he thought. Spinelli rolls his eyes.
The doctor thanks him for keeping her company. Spinelli admits he hates to leave her with the wrong people. She asks them both to take her to the picnic.
Mason pops up and asks for an introduction to Austin’s friends. Austin introduces him as a cousin. Mason was hoping he was going to stay in Pautauk longer.
Maxie invites him to the Quartermaine picnic. Mason happily accepts. He heard they were like royalty.
Austin and Mason making veiled references to his family. Maxie and Spinelli step away to discuss their children.
Austin tells Mason there’s no way he’s going to that picnic. “Watch me,” he says.

Kelly Thiebaud exits and Emma Samms returns to GH
In the stables, Cody tells Britt they should have a second date to learn more about each other. She wonders why he keeps asking about her father.
He’s only mentioned her father once. She points out their fathers knew each other. Not only that, but they did business together.
“What else are you keeping from me?” she asks. He says his first instinct was to run from her after learning who her father was. But she helped him and smells good.
“I just liked you,” he says. Her mom told her the matchmaking may have been more accurate than she thought. He’s sure Faison met his match in her mom.
Liesl suggested they have something in common. He asks if her dad ever mentioned his. He didn’t.
Cody is curious about what they were up to but she’s not interested. He tells her how strange the odds are that they would end up meeting the way she did.
She looked gorgeous when he fell on her. They recall the GIF of her and laugh about it.
After they taunt each other some more, he thanks her for saving him in the alley. He asks her to the picnic and she accepts, walking out with a smile.
Dante wanders into the Quartermaine kitchen where his mom is making arrangements for the Quartermaine charity picnic.
She tells her son that Cody has been helping Leo learn lines for a play. He’s happy they’ve made fast friends.
When she says she’s saved a seat for him an Sam at the play, she guesses something is wrong. He tries to dismiss this but she’s sure he’s hiding something.
“I think I messed up with Sam,” he admits, explaining he asked her to move in. Sam thinks he’s rushing and hasn’t worked through his feelings for Lulu.
His mom prays Lulu will wake up, but they both moved on before the explosion.
Sitting down, he admits part of him thinks he should have been able to save her.
Olivia assures him none of this was his fault. The only thing that matters now are his feelings for Sam.
He’s backed off and doesn’t want to pressure her. He thought they were good but now he feels like he messed things up. Olivia tells him to stick to the basics.
Dante wants a life with Sam and the kids. He loves her and wants to try and make her happy.
Sam jogs in and Olivia immediately makes herself scarce.
Dante asks Sam if she is coming to the picnic with him. Of course she will.
He repeats that they don’t need to rush. They’ll know when the time is right. They hug but she looks worried.
At General Hospital, TJ is startled when he finds Liz’s hand is covered in blood. She says a collection tube just shattered and she can hardly remember it.
This concerns him. He asks if Scott upset her earlier. After ordering an x-ray, he decides to send her home.
When they walk down the hall, he starts babbling about survival mechanisms. She stares at the stairway door and then hallucinates marching to it and falling down the stairs.
He snaps her out of it and walks her to radiology. After, she waits for her ride as Finn arrives. He’s startled to see the bandages.
At first she tells him it was an accident but decides he deserves to know the truth.
They go into an exam room and she accuses him of not trusting her. He doesn’t know how asking about her family violates about that.
She makes up a lie and he wonders if there’s more. Liz tells him to leave the psychology to Kevin. She doesn’t want to fight anymore.
After kissing him, she walks off. He thinks about how he might lose her if he keeps pushing. Then he makes a call to her mother, asking for a consult about someone they have in common.
