Wednesday’s GH recap: Selina Makes a Deal with Sonny, Lucy Wants in on BLQ’s Scheme & Nina Decides to Bring a Gossip Columnist to Town
Crimson Magazine
In her office, Carly’s not happy that Drew is blackballing Nina. They got their revenge.
It’s killing Nina to see her take her place. Drew says until she gets her own magazine.
“I had to shut her down.” Carly thinks their happiness and success are the best revenge.
Why can’t he ignore Nina? He doesn’t like that she tried to sabotage her magazine.
Carly barks that she caught it. Drew knows Nina won’t disappear. Carly doesn’t care. Let her play her games!
They agree on one thing, it infuriates them that Nina’s gloating but Carly knows stooping to her level causes more conflict.
Nina’s almost disconnected from everyone in her life except Drew.
Drew points out that she has a bottomless bank account.
It’s dangerous. He defends himself and Carly thinks he just wants to humiliate her.
“That too,” Drew says through gritted teeth.
He widens his eyes the size of saucers and is surprised Carly’s not backing him.
She says it’s just causing more conflict.
Life is short. Her mom’s dead and it reminds her of that.
She’s happy with him and asks if it’s enough. He thought it would be.
He talks about being beaten in Pentonville.
Carly tells him his anger, his rage scares her. He hasn’t been the same since he was in prison.
“I went to prison for —” She tells him to finish the sentence. Teary-eyed, she says he went for her.
He’s sorry and denies that’s really it but she says it’s true. Her life stayed the same while he was in there.
Drew doesn’t regret it. He loves her. She loves him. He says it’s all that matters but she’s not so sure anymore.
She understands his desire for revenge but wants Nina out of her life completely.
She’s not sure he can do that or wants to. Drew reminds her he gets as much say in their relationship as she does.
She thinks he’s turning into someone his family doesn’t recognize and this means Nina has won.
Her condition on taking this job was that it’d end the war with Nina. He agreed.
She hands over the magazine and tells him to consider this her first and last issue.
She walks out on him.
Charlie’s Pub
At Charlie’s pub, Sasha and Maxie run into Cody and Spinelli.
The kids are with Felicia, Maxie says.
She’s ready for fun.
Sasha asks them to hang out tonight. Cody takes Sasha to get drinks and she asks what tricks he has up his sleeve.
Cody wants Spin to serenade Maxie with Karaoke the way he did when they dated.
This impresses Sasha. She hopes it’ll give Maxie the clarity about Spinelli that she needs.
Meanwhile, Maxie complains about Tracy to Spin.
Maxie learns Kristina just started Karaoke.
It reminds them of their non-wedding.
Cody and Sasha return to the table and are the first to sing.
Spin and Maxie laugh their pants off at them.
Later, at the bar, Sasha explodes with cheer, shocked she sang in front of people, while at the table, Cody pressures Spinelli to sing to Maxie.
Spin wants him to let it go. Cody can’t.
He feels he owes him one for the blackmail when he first came to town.
Besides, he cares about Maxie and her family.
He wants them both to be happy.
Spin thinks it’s about his relationship with Sasha.
Cody denies it.
Spin goes up to sing a romantic song.
Maxie smiles. Once he’s done, the room cheers.
Cody and Sasha leave Maxie with Spin.
They talk about him staying with her and she admits she doesn’t want him to go.
He feels the same.
It feels so right for them both. She knows she can count on him.
He calls her one of his closest friends and considers her more than a friend.
He kisses her and she melts into it. After a few moments, she pulls back and suddenly has to go.
She rushes out.
Outside, Cody and Sasha pat themselves on the back for a job well done. Maxie appears and tells Sasha they need to go.
PCPD
At PCPD, Cyrus is wired and Dante and Anna go over the plan.
Cyrus is going to Pentonville to preach a sermon as a volunteer chaplain.
The arms dealer, Philip O’Neil is in custody but he’ll attend the sermon with his guards.
Cyrus asks why she’s talking to him like he’s an idiot.
He knows her plan.
She doesn’t want him to weasel out of their deal.
Cyrus says she’s asking him to betray his sacred duties as a man of the cloth.
Dante points out that he’s not even ordained.
Cyrus says people in prison think it’s close enough and he hopes that they remember his sacrifice.
He goes and the police listen in when he starts his sermon.
Jagger walks in, “Start without me?” he asks.

Selena’s Garden shed
Selena takes Sonny and his guard to her garden shed.
A man inside is bound to a chair and gagged.
He struggles, looking frightened.
They head in and Selena says Lee bought a new luxury vehicle, which had her digging into his accounts. He came into some money.
After some “convincing,” Lee admitted he shared her whereabouts.
They recovered a gun from him. Sonny’s interested in that.
There’s no serial number but a mark on it.
Sonny assumes it’s a WSB missing gun.
The guy looks at Sonny who yells that he has been working for the people who took a shot at him twice.
Since Selena can’t get a name out of him, she thinks the garden tools will do it.
He grabs some sheers and Lee struggles.
His gag is ripped off and Sonny asks if he has a compelling reason to spare him.
He wants a description.
Lee has no name for him. The guy said it was better he didn’t know but he was a go-between, working for who is really in charge.
The mobsters scoff at him, thinking it’s convenient.
Lee says his boss’s name is Stone.
The mobsters head outside and Sonny says that name means something, thinking of John ‘Jagger’ Cates.
He tells Selena about Stone and his brother John, the fed.
They head back inside and Lee agrees to do anything to save his hide.
Cyrus introduces himself to O’Neill in Pentonville.
He shares that he was in prison too.
This surprises O’Neill since he’s a chaplain.
Cyrus says he trusts in God to guide him and tries to pay forward his redemption by helping other lost souls.
O’Neill thanks him for sharing and calls it quite the transformation.
Port Charles Police Department
Back at PCPD, Anna reminds Cates that this is PCPD jurisdiction.
He says he’s shutting the operation down because she kept the FBI in the dark.
Anna reminds him they’re on the same team. Cates snipes at Dante for blowing it because he has a bias toward Sonny Corinthos.
Anna says Sonny’s been targeted twice.
It’s not a bias to find out who did it. It’s their job! It could work.
Why is he so ready to shut it down? Dante thinks it sounds personal. Anna agrees something is up.
She’ll go to his supervisor and tell him he’s not fit to run the show. What’s it going to be?
