Wednesday, July 18 GH recap: Sonny encourages Kristina to figure out her feelings, Molly vents about her sister to Sam, and Esme begs Alexis to stop a story on her parents.
Tuesday’s GH recap: Chase and BLQ declared their love, and Anna convinced Jackson to let Lucy and Felicia go.
Gladys, Maxie, and Sasha are by the pool going over the story Crimson in planning to do on the model. Sasha is determined to speak about her mental health issues and her recent problem with shoplifting.
Maxie promises to be by her side to make sure this goes smoothly. When Gladys spots Cody relaxing by the pool, she’s not happy to see him.
Maxie heads over to Cody and Gladys reminds Sasha to take her meds. When Gladys mentions that talking to the press might not be such a great idea, Sasha wants to call and cancel. Elise the journalist shows up before she can.
Across the room, Maxie and Cody talk about Sasha’s choice to talk to the press. He notices Sasha talking to someone and Maxie asks him not to come over to their table.
Maxie tells Elise that this is all a big non-story and Sasha just wasn’t clear about their relationship with Logans. Elise gets that but wants Sasha to talk about coping with all her pain.
Sasha says her friends and family give her the strength to keep going. Maxie stops Elise from asking about Cyrus.
Gladys walks off to Cody and orders him to leave. Sasha spots her ranting at the cowboy and then hallucinates that he’s Cyrus. When she starts twitching, Maxie tries to end the interview.
Sasha pushes on and tries talking about mental health stigma as she continues hallucinating and leaps up. As Gladys shoves Cody around, he grabs her arm.
Gabbing a knife, Sasha rushes over and stabs Cody in the back.
Alexis arrives at The Invader office and finds Esme rifling through files on the floor. She demands an explanation and accuses her of combing through her documents.
Esme notes the documents are about her and asks if she was hired because Alexis is doing a story about her. Her boss says that’s none of her business but explains a reporter is considering doing a piece about her parents.
Esme begs her not to allow it and reminds her that she’s a Cassadine so she should understand. Alexis rejects the comparison and tells Esme she has done nothing to earn a clean slate. She doesn’t trust her and no one else does either.
If she wants to change that, she needs to take a hard look at her past and face what she did. When she turns her back, Esme shoves some papers into her shirt before leaving. It’s an article about Heather.
Kristina shows up at Sonny’s penthouse and complains she feels like she’s losing control of her foundation because she messed up the paperwork. She’s mad at herself for screwing up. He reminds her she’s new at this and has to learn.
He encourages her to sort this out in person. When he mentions she might need some support, Kristina snaps. Alexis encouraged him to have a conversation with her.
Kristina moans that no one trusts her to make decisions about her own life.
Her father asks her to explain what else is going on. Vaguely, she says that she had an idea to help Molly and told Sam and Alexis about it and they shot her down. Molly found out and was furious.
She wishes she could have an open conversation with her sister but she’s sure Molly thinks she’s irresponsible and self-serving. She doesn’t know what to do.
Her father asks why she was so eager to help and have a conversation with her sister about it. She thanks him for making her feel less alone.
Molly (now played by Brooke Anne Smith), bursts into Sam’s penthouse and starts ranting about Kristina planning to become her surrogate without consulting her.
Sam says she has every right to be angry but her sister isn’t sure her relationship with Kristine will ever be the same. Molly complains about how she has always made allowances for her sister and how they have always tip-toed around her feelings.
Molly is the one with the health condition but this has all been made about Kristina. Sam suggests her issue isn’t really with Kristina but with her and their mom and how they’ve always focused on Kristina.
Molly insists this is about how self-centered Kristina is. Her sister tells her that Kristina was impulsive but genuinely trying to be helpful. That doesn’t go over well.
Molly knows harm might not have been intended, but it was real. Sam is surprised by her attitude right now. It doesn’t make sense.
Molly admits it’s because her sister can have a baby even when she doesn’t want to and that’s not fair. Sam gives her a hug.
They sit and Molly explains how clueless her sister is about other people’s sadness. Sam knows her sister doesn’t understand and suggests she speak to her directly.
Molly is sock of being the bigger person. Kristina needs to figure this out on her own.
Kristina shows up, startled to see Molly there.

Trina meets with Taggert at Kelly’s for breakfast. She admits she feels guilty when she’s away from the hospital. It feels like Curtis may never wake up.
Taking her hand, he tells her she doesn’t have to go through this alone. She admits that being with him makes her feel like she’s giving up on Curtis.
They talk about how things have changed since they got the DNA results. She thinks they need to address this.
He assures her that nothing will change how he feels about her. She’s going through the time in her life where she spends more time away from her parents.
She points out she’s not growing up, she’s trying to figure out where she came from. Curtis will help her with that.
They hug and she tells him it’s good to know she can count on him. After she leaves, he puts booze in his coffee.
At General Hospital, Portia tells unconscious Curtis that his family and friends all love him and are waiting for him to wake up. Spencer arrives and startles her. He apologizes for intruding and walks off. Marshall shows up.
Portia tells him there has been no change and complains about Spencer. Marshall notes the Cassadine is waiting in the hall.
She immediately walks out to him and tells him he needs to hear her. He tells her how he’s wanted to spend more time with Trina and admits he’s been busy looking after his little brother.
He tells her how great Trina is and how she’s the best thing that has ever happened to him. The doctor asks if he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to her daughter.
He wouldn’t say that but doesn’t think he’s the worst thing. Portia suggests that all the worse things that have happened to her daughter have been because of him.
He says they have tried to work past those things. She thinks her daughter is simply overlooking them.
Spencer admits she should run away from him but has stood beside him despite all that’s happened and they make each other happy. Portia refuses to accept that.
He says this is a complicated situation and he’s stuck with Esme. Portia says the selfless and mature thing would be to let Trina go so she doesn’t have to see Esme anymore.
Trina arrives and gives Spencer a hug. Marshall calls out to them that Curtis is waking up. They rush in and his eyes open.
