Thursday, July 20 GH recap: Kristina and Molly talk out their problems, Spencer worries that he causes Trina too much trouble, and Sam and Cody wonder why he was stabbed.
Wednesday’s GH recap: Sasha hallucinated during an interview and stabbed Cody, Portia urged Spencer to get out of Trina’s life, and Curtis woke up.
By the pool, a hallucinating Sasha stabs Cody, thinking that he’s Cyrus. Maxie rushes over and tries to calm her down by the hallucination taunts her and she lunges again. After Maxie manages to get her to snap out of it in time, Sasha drops the knife.
The paramedics are called and Elise records all of this as Sasha asks Gladys why she just did this. Gladys promises they will fix everything.
Detective Bennett walks over and announces that Cody is in bad shape and is being charged.
Maxie tells the cop that he can see she’s not well and shows him Sasha’s anti-depressants.
Elise tells him about her publicized mental break.
The cop has Sasha cuffed and will order a psych evaluation for her.
Esme is startled when she goes to Pentonville and Cyrus pops up.
He explains he’s read all about her journey and how she’s changed.
After he introduces himself and tells her about the path he’s on, he says he knows what it’s like for people to be skeptical of his sincerity.
He explains that he reached out to her because her child is part of his family.
She assumes he’s a Cassadine so he has to explain that he’s Laura’s brother. Heather shows up and tells Renault to back off, declaring she is the only family her daughter and Ace need.
Once she chases him off, she tells Esme how thrilled she is that she came and asks if she has any pictures of Ace.
Esme makes it clear that she hasn’t forgiven her and still thinks she’s vile, but she’s the only person who can answer her questions.
Heather tells her how much she loved her and had to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect her.
Esme doesn’t think killing people counts as protection but her mom says she was just doing what she had to do for her baby, just like Esme is.
She’s sure she’s finally realized how much they have in common. Esme insists that she’s nothing like her.
Heather knows that she and Ryan have their faults, but they and her adoptive parents made her what she is. Esme insists that she and Spencer
will raise Ace to be his own man and know nothing of his bloodline.
Heather asks what will happen when he hears about what happened to her adoptive parents. Esme is confused when she suggests it wasn’t an accident.
Her mother tells her that the people in Port Charles do not forgive and forget. She named her Esme because it means “to love” and she accepts her for how she is.
At the bistro, Austin tells Ava that he’s there for her. Any man with eyes would want her and their attraction could save their lives.
Nina and Sonny arrive. They chat about Curtis and Sonny asks the doctor about how well he knew Britt.
Austin is starting to feel like Sonny doesn’t trust him. He knows he is righty concerned about anyone who may have contact with his daughter.
Gordon Stevens, one of Austin’s former patients, shows up and demands to speak to him.
Awkwardly, Austin asks him to step outside to talk. Sonny asks Ava if she and Austin have a secret.
Ava says they like a little mystery. She reminds them of how he faced down the Quartermaines and Nina vents about that family.
When Sonny steps away, Ava says this is going great and Nina shakes her head.
Outside, Gordon tells Austin that Mason has not paid for his services.
Gordon tell him he owes him and threatens to break his arm. “You break him and I break you,” Sonny threatens as he interrupts.
He orders him to apologize and sends Gordon away.
Austin thanks Sonny and tries to explain. Sonny had no idea the medical profession was so hazardous.
They return to the ladies inside.
Sonny flashes back to watching Austin arguing with Gordon about Mason and then says he feels like he knows a lot more about the doctor now.

Nicholas Chavez’s temporary GH exit
Kristina arrives at Sam’s. Seeing that Molly is there, she tries to leave but her big sister insists they all stay.
She orders them to explain their positions.
Sam says they will always be sisters and begs them to talk this out. Kristina admits she’s not always the most self-aware person but was only trying to be helpful. Molly admits she might have overreacted but it was all too much.
Sam leaves to take a call. Molly admits she wanted to hurt her sister. She explains that her own body has let her down and made her realize no amount of work can overcome it.
Sam rushes out, telling them there is mint chocolate ice cream and vodka in the kitchen.
Kristina admits she was being impulsive but was only trying to give her what she wants. Molly says she should have talked to her about it.
Krissy knows she has a tendency to “word vomit.”
She knows Molly has never needed her and always had things together. She just wanted to help her for once.
Molly just needs her to be her big sister. Kristina promises to just wait for people to tell her what they need. Her offer still stands.
At General Hospital, Trina is eager to hear that Curtis will be okay now that he’s awake. Portia urges Trina to visit Curtis with Marshall.
Once they go in, Spencer tries to be optimistic about the situation and promises her that he won’t let his family harm hers.
She wonders if that’s a promise he can keep. TJ arrives and asks after his uncle.
Portia worries that there may be residual complications from the surgery.
Curtis tells his father that he needs his daughter. They tell him he was shot and the bullet likely wasn’t meant for him.
Trina takes off and Curtis tells his father he feels strange.
When Marshall tells him the doctor’s almost lost him, Curtis says that explains why he saw his mom and Tommy.
He was happy there but he came back for his child.
Portia and TJ drop in with the surgeon, who needs to run some routine tests. It’s soon apparent that Curtis can’t feel anything below the knee.
Spencer and Trina walk the corridors and he tells her he will always be there for her.
She asks what he was talking about with her mom. He flashes back to Portia telling him to let her daughter go.
He claims they were just talking about putting family first. When they sit, he tells her he feels like he’s been letting her down.
Does he make her life better or harder?
Esme calls but he fobs her off. Trina admits to him that things haven’t been easy. He hugs her and says they can face whatever happens together.
Sam arrives and visits Cody, surprised to see he’s alive. So is he. He tells her that, for once, he’s not in any trouble.
He explains that Sasha stabbed him. It doesn’t make sense to either of them.
When he adds she called him “Cyrus,” Sam explains who he is.
They guess her recovery has had a set-back. He wants to check on Sasha but she reminds him he’s been stabbed.
They spot Sasha cuffed to a wheelchair being rolled down the hall.
