General Hospital recap for Thursday, April 20, 2023. In today’s GH episode, Ned and BLQ discuss ELQ’s problems, Carly and Nina argue about Sonny’s priorities, and Curtis probes Drew for clues.
We also have Wednesday’s GH recap where Trina damaged the Haunted Star’s engine and was captured by Victor, and Michael asked Sonny to the wedding — alone .
At the Quartermaine estate, Ned gets off the phone after leaving a message about damage control.
He tells BLQ that if they don’t do something soon, Valentin could destroy ELQ.
She assumes this is about the stock drop. He explains that the market didn’t like Valentin faking his own death. It made shareholders skittish.
He worries that the sharks are circulating and he may have to start firing people. Valentin hasn’t even released a statement. The longer he is silent, the worse it looks.
Ned thought Valentin knew how central the health of the company was. He’s starting to regret siding with him.
She hopes he’s not plotting a double-cross. He explains how things have changed. Ned can understand what Valentin is dealing with, but he needs to go.
He can see a path to fixing things and wonders why his daughter isn’t more thrilled about it. She doesn’t feel good about blindsiding Valentin. This could make him an enemy.
At Wyndemere, Nina is startled when she arrives and finds Carly there. Carly explains that Ava is out.
Nina really needs to talk to her friend and wonders why she’s there. Carly is watching Avery.
Nina offers to take over so she can go. Carly refuses. They bicker about that.
Refusing to leave, Carly suggests they avoid each other. Nina accuses her of telling Michael not to invite her to the wedding.
Carly says she’s delusional. When she learns that Sonny is going without her, she says it sounds like he’s finally got his priorities straight. She’s glad he’s finally putting his family above her.
Nina blames her for keeping her out of Willow’s life. Carly reminds her that she’s always been “a bitch” to Willow. She still doesn’t see her as a person, just a possession.
“I own my part. But it’s your fault I don’t have a chance to earn her forgiveness,” Nina says. She says that Willow could have been cured by now if Carly had told Willow who her mother was.
Carly tells her she kept the DNA results a secret because Willow didn’t want to know a woman she hated is her mother. The blame is all on her.
Nina repeats that she stole the time they could have had to reconcile and walks out.

Ava stops by Portia’s office at General Hospital and asks about the Trina situation. Portia blames Spencer for everything.
Ava asks what Trina was thinking sneaking onto the boat. The doctor says she wasn’t thinking, just following.
She’s utterly terrified and tears up, thinking of all the ways her daughter could be hurting.
Sniffling, she tells her that she messed up and is now estranged from Curtis and Trina.
Ava knows all about making mistakes in doing what’s best for your child.
Portia just wishes her daughter had never met Spencer. If she survives this, she will make sure they never see each other again.
Ava knows how petty nd entitled Spencer used to be, but he’s changed. That’s because of Trina.
They both know Trina’s pain is tied to him too. Ava says it’s still Trina’s choice to be with him.
The sobbing doctor worries she may never have the chance to reconcile with her daughter.
Ava tells her it’s not too late. When Trina was in danger, she called her. Portia wasn’t sure she would ever hear her daughter loves her again.
The Jerome tells her to have faith. The doctor thanks her.
Drew meets with Curtis, shocked to hear about Trina going missing. Curtis tells him what they know.
He hasn’t had any contact from Trina for awhile and it’s driving him crazy.
Drew is sorry to learn that Curtis isn’t with Portia right now. Curtis asks for details about his history with Victor.
All Drew knows is that Victor wanted information about some black op he was involved in when he was a Navy Seal. He tried to remember and piece things together but came up empty.
Curtis asks for all he knows about the Cassadine. They rehash the past year and the story of the necklace. Drew assumes Victor is headed for his brother’s bunker.
Curtis tells him he has to remember. Trina’s life depends on it. Drew can’t remember.
Even before Curtis knew Trina might be his daughter, he loved her. She’s an amazing young woman but she must be terrified.
Drew says he sounds like a proud father and Trina sounds just like him.
Curtis spots Portia and rushes over. He couldn’t leave while Trina is out there in danger.
Drew joins them and they wonder who could get them information on Operation Demeter. Drew gets an idea.
When Ava gets home, Carly tells her that Nina was there. If she ever feels compelled to give her advice, she shouldn’t.
Nina gets into her car, thinking of Carly telling her how all the blame is on her. After cursing her, Nina remembers Ava telling her about Drew and Carly’s insider trading.
“It might be time for Carly to face some consequences,” she decides.
At the Haunted Star, Victor has his goons drag Trina in and hold Spencer back at gunpoint. Victor lays on the sarcasm about how industrious she’s been on their little cruise.
Liesl is brought in and Victor explains that Trina is a saboteur. Victor prompts Trina to help him decide what to do with her.
He steps aside to talk to Obrecht about the pathogen. She tells him how impressive it is but she’s already conceived on several possible vaccines.
Meanwhile, Trina tells Spencer how sorry she is she fell for the trap. He tells her it’s okay. She stopped the ship and that may have saved them.
Victor has the teens dragged up to the deck and tells Spencer he’s giving him his last chance to be on his side to right the scales of the earth’s population. Spencer refuses.
His uncle is sure that he has the clarity of purpose to be a true Cassadine. Trina says that he’s nothing like his family.
Victor hopes he’s not giving up his legacy for some pretty face.
Spencer says she’s more than that. He doesn’t share his uncle’s vision and will never work with him.
That breaks Victor’s heart. He orders Trina thrown overboard.
Spencer immediately caves and agrees to do whatever he demands. Victor isn’t stupid enough to believe that. He just thinks he’s a weakling.
Victor orders them both drowned. Spencer is as much of a disappointment as Nikolas.
Liesl orders him to stop this. She wants to use them to test the vaccine. Although she thinks his plan is madness, she wants to survive and thinks that creating this vaccine would be a great achievement.
The challenge makes her feel alive for the first time since Britt died.
Spencer and Trina whisper to each other. He wants to figure out how to get away. Neither of them like the idea of becoming guinea pigs but Obrecht may have bought them the time they need.
Victor is informed that the engine has been fixed. Obrecht orders her patients fed and watered so they can be healthy for testing.
Victor says they will reach the bunker by morning and then Liesl can get to work.
