In the Wednesday, July 14, 2021, full episode recap of Days of our Lives, Lucas tells Sami that Nicole is still gunning for their secret to come out, it’s Nicole’s anniversary, and Brady and Xander have a run in while Chanel is hurt by Allie. In case you missed out, on Tuesday’s Days of our Lives episode, Abe was egged and Julie tells Eli that Xander and Gwen killed Snyder.
Xander’s in the middle of a business deal when Brady enters the Basic Black office and disconnects his phone. “What the hell?” He thought it was his since he lost his. Xander tells him to check Nicole’s desk. “Nicole wouldn’t take my phone,” Brady says. Xander asks for respect and Brady smirks. He only has this job because he’s blackmailing Nicole. Xandy’s shocked that Brady knows they had sex. Brady says he took advantage of a woman and then used her to get a job. Xander shrugs him off. He invites Brady to fire him. But if he does, “Your brother will find out what a cheating tramp his wife is.”
Nicole walks into Brady’s pub and flashes back to her wedding to Eric there. “Happy anniversary…to me,” she says, almost in tears. She stares at her rings and tells herself to pull it together. Theo appears and questions her. She is hesitant and then reveals what today is. Theo’s sorry. He knows how far Africa can seem from Salem, but he also knows Eric loves her and he’s thinking about her now. Nicole tears up and thanks him. He hands Brady’s phone over. He spent hours trying to trace the call and got Kristen’s number but it was a burner. Lucas strolls up and butts in when Theo asks what it was about. Theo goes and Lucas asks why she wants to talk to Kristen. Nicole reminds him she was trying to prove her theory that he had sex with Sami. Nic tells him not to worry. She didn’t get an active number. She takes off and he flashes to seeing Sami burn the letter and then to taking it from the fireplace. He takes it from his pocket and seems self-satisfied.
At the DiMera mansion, EJ kisses Sami’s cheek. He talks about everything he needs is in this bed and asks if she agrees. Of course she does. “Then you’re not going to sneak out on me again?” She questions what he’s on about and he says she took off after their afternoon rendezvous. She recalls burning Kristen’s letter and he demands to know where she went. She lies that she went downstairs to get a drink. He says he was there and couldn’t find her. She thinks he didn’t look hard. She took her ice tea and drank it on the porch. She boasts about how good Harold makes it with lemon and mint, and she kisses EJ. He has a surprise for her, though it can’t compete with Harold’s ice tea. Sami freaks out. “A surprise?” He hands her a necklace from a shop she saw in Tuscany. She’s delighted. He had it shipped. She puts it on. It’s the least he can do to thank her for standing by him and caring for him while they recovered. They kiss and she wants sex but he has to go to work. He goes and Lucas calls. She rolls her eyes. “What the hell do you want?” He asks if she got the letter and she admits Jake knows about them and was going to use it against them when Gabi talked him out of it. Lucas thinks that’s lucky. She says she burned it and there’s no way EJ can learn the truth. Lucas wouldn’t be so sure. He tells her about Nicole trying to expose the truth. Sami groans. Everything is different now. “He’s being so loving and attentive and after sex he… Lucas, I’m sorry.” Lucas says it’s not a problem. She tells him EJ gave her a necklace and EJ calls him a “swell guy.” Sami can’t let Nicole ruin everything. She thanks him and disconnects. Later, Lucas thinks EJ might find out another way. He smiles as he looks at the letter.

Allie gets back into bed at home and Tripp tells her he’s happy and feels close to her. She feels the same. No regrets. They kiss. He groans. “You’re making this hard for me,” he says. He wants to stay but has to get to work. Allie says he can’t because Chanel’s out there. She doesn’t know he spent the night. Chanel rolls over on the sofa and wakes up. She flashes to seeing Tripp and Allie go to her bedroom. Allie appears, looking sheepish. Chanel asks how she slept. “No complaints.” Chanel seems jealous when she says, “Glad to hear it. Don’t you think Tripp is getting a little lonely in your bed?” She admits she thought that after their talk, Allie was going to break up with Tripp. Allie understands. Chanel tells Tripp to come on out. She tells Tripp that Allie’s her girl and he seems like a great guy. “What am I gonna do? At least we all know where we stand?” He asks where they stand and Chanel admits she thought there was something between them and she guesses there wasn’t. “You two want to be together and I’m totally fine with that.” She dresses and says it’s time to get her own place. She thanks Allie for letting her crash and goes. Allie seems sad when she leaves. She says she chose him and goes to get the kid to take a walk. Tripp looks concerned.
At Rafe’s, Jake talks to Gabi about her work. He juggles the limes and says his day is wide open. He is still smarting from losing his job and should have taken EJ down. Gabi disagrees. Jake thinks the letter could still come back to haunt her. Gabi doubts it. She tells him to think about his future. She gives him a pep talk and says she’ll get Philip to hire him. “He thinks I’m the bee’s knees,” she says. She wants his help in taking down DiMera.

Nicole walks in on Xander and Brady arguing. Xander explains what happened. Nicole didn’t expect him to tell Xander. Xander reminds him that he needs to be treated with respect. He takes the day off since he can’t work like this. Nic hands Brady his cell and says it was in a conference room. This puzzles him. He tells her to go home when he realizes today’s her anniversary.
Theo finds Chanel in the square crying. He assumes it’s hard on her being at the square because of what Paulina did. They look at the logo. Theo’s sorry. She appreciates it. He offers to help. If there’s anything he can do… “Maybe there is,” she says, pulling him into a kiss. He’s into it and then pulls away. He was offering to talk or ice cream. Not to kiss. She asks to hook up but learns he and Ciara are marrying. She’s upset but congratulates him. He’s sorry if he hurt her feelings. She says it’s not about him or the bakery but needs to deal with this on her own. She goes.
Nicole returns home and finds a card from Eric about their first anniversary and how he couldn’t let the day pass without telling her he loves her. “Happy anniversary,” she hears from behind her. Eric’s home.
Lucas arrives at EJ’s office at DiMera…
