Thursday, Jan 18, 2024: Today on Bold and the Beautiful, Eric checks out of the hospital, Ridge hopes his father understands what he did, and Carter thanks Eric.
Wednesday’s Early B&B recap: Wyatt told Bill he might leave LA, Li called Poppy and Luna gold diggers, and Eric was overcome to hear he’s going home.
At the hospital, Donna signs off on the paperwork and Eric thanks the doctors for taking such good care of him.
He doesn’t know how he can thank Finn enough. Donna seconds that.
Eric can barely process being back on his feet again.
Finn congratulates him and says this is because of his hard work and determination.
It’s the hardest thing Eric’s ever done.
He was gone and went somewhere he will never forget. He thanks Finn again.
At Eric’s, Ridge tells Brooke he didn’t think they would be in the position of waiting for his father to come home a few weeks ago.
She wonders what would have happened if he’d stopped Finn from performing the procedure.
Ridge just hopes his dad understands why he did what he did.
She assures him his dad wants to be alive.
If he wanted to go, he would have.
Carter joins them to wait for Eric and Ridge assures him once again that he’s part of the family.
Donna helps Eric through the door. “You’re really here,” Brooke says.
He won’t let anyone hug him because he’s too frail.
They each welcome him back.
Eric looks around the room and at all the photos on the mantle.
He wasn’t sure he would ever get back there.
Carter tells him he’s shown him so much grace and forgiveness, welcoming him into his family.
Choking up, he says he wasn’t ready to lose him and holds his hand. Eric nods.
After Carter leaves, they talk about the impact Eric has had on their lives.
Brooke says none of them were ready to lose him.
Now they can spend more time with the greatest man Ridge knows.
He asks if he was ready to go to the other side. Was he ready to stay there?
Eric admits that he was scared until he went to the crossing over place and she saw the light where hearing and seeing are the same.
He saw Stephanie. She’s waiting for him.
His body felt fine.
It was going to be the perfect exit.
“There’s nothing to be afraid of,” he tells them all.
It’s beautiful and full of love and light.
“Now I’m back here,” he says.
Ridge asks if he made the right decision. Did he want to go?

B&B January comings and goings
At Il Giardino, Sheila gets an order from Deacon and they talk about how busy the place is before doing some flirting.
They spot Bill. Deacon can’t believe he shows up like three times a day when Brooke and Hope won’t even come in.
Deacon greets Bill and Poppy and shows them to a table, telling them that they are in luck because Sheila will be their server today.
“Luck? I thought you meant the good kind,” Bill jokes.
When he and Poppy are left alone, he tells her he can’t stop thinking about her and wants to make more memories with her.
Back at the bar, Sheila asks Deacon why should put Bill and his date in her section.
He thought she could have some fun with them and jokes she should tell him his credit card has been declined.
She reminds him he only pays in cash.
Sheila heads over and introduces herself.
When she asks for their drink order, Bill says that if she doesn’t know his yet, she’s a worse waitress than he thought.
Once she walks off, Poppy notices.
Bill assures her that he’s not normally rude to waitresses but that waitress is the same woman who tried to kill her sister.
Sheila brings them their drinks and walks off.
Poppy wants to throw her drink in her face.
Bill would love to see that but it’s not worth it. Sheila is dangerous.
Eventually, she will snap and be behind bars.
They can go and visit her in prison on a date.
Poppy makes it clear she’s very open to seeing him again.
Back at the bar, Sheila and Deacon gossip about Bill and how his date is going.
“Poor Poppy. She has no idea what she’s in for,” he says.
Sheila tells Deacon that Poppy is probably falling for all of Bill’s lies.
He tells her to cut more limes.
Bill notices Poppy popping one of her “special mints” and wonders if she’s nervous.
Smiling, she asks if she should be.
One thing he’s always remembered about her is that she always makes things seem carefree and magical.
It’s like she hasn’t changed a bit.
Looking at her smile, he can recall her dancing in the moonlight and puts on the song that was playing.
Everyone starts staring at them and Bill dares her to dance.
She stands up and starts bopping around.
Bill’s eyes bulge until he leaps up and holds her, telling her she’s transporting time with her graceful moves.
She’s a magical surprise when he needs it the most.
As he kisses her, the other diners clap.
Deacon and Sheila look less impressed.
