In the Wednesday, October 20, 2021, full episode recap of Bold and the Beautiful, Katie tells her sisters about her connection to Carter, and Zende and Paris are late for a big meeting. Soaps Spoilers has Tuesday’s B&B recap where Katie and Carter realized they both had issues falling for the right person.
The Logan sisters discuss Carter. Katie thinks he really loves Quinn. She says maybe it wasn’t love at all. Brooke wonders why a decent man like Carter would have feelings for Quinn. Donna wonders if it was physical. Katie says it wasn’t. She claims she was “ready” to blast him when she visited him and then realized they had more in common than any of them thought. The sisters glance at each other, knowingly. Katie details what they discussed and that Bill visited her before she ran over to Carter’s. She tells her sisters she’s lonely. She calls their discussion cathartic and reveals she’s not sure she’s meant to be with Bill. Brooke talks about Sheila slithering back into their lives and Deacon’s return making her feel the need to protect the kids. Donna claims her life is boring. She reorganized her closet since she had nothing better to do. Katie thinks this means she needs a man. Donna says there’s only one man for her. “My Honey Bear.” The women encourage their sister to go after Eric, a married man.
At the Forrester home, Carter talks to Eric about the jewelry line. Eric wants him to talk to Quinn about it. Ridge asks him where Quinn is and Eric shuts him down. Both men ask about his feelings about Quinn now that she dumped him. He tells them it’s no secret that he “cared” for Quinn. They shared something deeper than a physical connection. Eric asks if he’s been able to move on. He’s in the process. “Yes,” he says, but the connection is over. It should never have been there from the start. Eric asks if he has residual feelings for Quinn. Once the man is gone, Eric thinks Carter will find someone new sooner than they think.

At Forrester, Zende and Paris don’t make the meeting with Hope and Thomas. Thomas texts her. He assumes she’s at Zende’s. They ask Charlie if he’s seen them. He hasn’t and takes off. He goes to search for them and returns. They’re not there. “Want me to send out an APB?” Thomas laughs. Hope refuses. Charlie toddles off to his office to keep Forrester safe from “nefarious characters.” Thomas looks at Zende’s design. He never does anything this asymmetrical. Thomas and Hope like it.
At Zende’s place, he and Paris kiss. They agree that last night was off the charts. “Our first time,” she says. “Definitely not our last,” he says, removing her jacket. She puts it back on. They’ve responsibilities. They’re late for their Hope for the Future meeting. “Just so you know, I found my Hope for the Future,” he says, laying the cheese on thick. They make out.

Zende and Paris show up for their design meeting at Forrester. Hope asks for a good explanation. “We overslept?” Zende says with a question. Paris apologizes. Thomas takes Paris to the design office to talk, while Zende apologizes again. Hope laughs. It’s fine, but she thinks he could do better with excuses. “You know, don’t you?” He asks. Hope admits she knows they were together. Zende says they had a fantastic night. He asks Hope if he needs to be concerned about Thomas living with Paris. Hope doesn’t think so. In the design room, Paris tells Thomas he’s embarrassing her, “big time.” Thomas tells Paris “we appreciate you big time.” He brings up her coming into work late and knows she slept at Zende’s last night. He assumes that Zende cranked up the music and wine. “You make it sound like he has a playbook,” she says. Thomas tells her Zende’s a lucky guy.
Carter finds Katie alone at the restaurant. She invites him to sit. They both apologize for their attitudes yesterday and she tells him they have a lot in common. He smiles.
