Soaps Spoilers has the Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for Tuesday, October 19, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Wednesday, October 20. (Recaps live by 5:45 PM EST daily.) In the previous episode, Sally and Adam made out. In this episode, Victor decides it’s time to take Billy out and asks Adam’s help, everyone says goodbye to Italy, and Nick and Phyllis discuss their relationship.
At the palazzo, Ashland, Victoria, Nikki and Victor have breakfast and discuss saying goodbye to their guests. It was difficult for Ash to say goodbye to Harrison. Victoria calls the wedding perfect and thanks her parents for making it happen. Nikki’s glad Victor kept the wolves at bay. Victor goes to get juice and Victoria follows to ask for the whole story on Gaines. “Nothing to worry about. It’s been handled.” She worries he’ll need handling again. He assures that they neutralized the threat and she should thank Adam. Upstairs, Lily wakes up alone. Billy’s up, furiously texting. He didn’t sleep. He walked and ran into Victor, he admits. Lily is on edge. “Playtime is over. Time to man the battle stations. The old man has openly declared war on me and Chance Com.” Lily presses a hand to her head as if she has a headache.

In Genoa City, Lauren yells at Chloe that she warned her that Sally’s up to her old tricks and cares nothing about anyone else but herself. Michael showed his wife a photo of the Italian wedding and Lauren noticed that Victoria wasn’t wearing her “incredible” wedding dress. She saw the social media “buzz” and Sally Spectra’s name popped up as a designer. Lauren’s sorry Chloe is dealing with this. Chloe can’t be angry with her. She knew. “You were in on it?” Chloe cringes. She didn’t know that Sally’s plan would work. There’s no stopping Sally. Kevin gives her credit. She has guts. Michael’s amused, which angers Lauren more. “You betrayed me.” She talks about how underhanded the woman is until Michael says that none of them can cast stones about doing underhanded things. Chloe didn’t even know Sally would get Victoria to wear the dress but she can’t say she’s sorry. She and Sally needed this moment in the spotlight. She agrees she should have told Lauren and is sorry for that. Lauren gathers her stuff and her husband. “You should be.” She storms off with Michael.
Upstairs at the palazzo, Adam finds Sally outside his door. He hopes she slept well. She got more rest than she would if they spent the night together, she tells him as Jack strolls by. Sally tells Jack she was thanking Adam for bringing her so she could get Victoria to wear her dress. She goes off to pack. Adam tells Jack that Sally’s just a friend. Jack counters that he doesn’t owe him an explanation. Jack cautions him to stop kidding himself and be careful. “Remember what they said about playing with fire.” In their room, Phyllis wakes up to Nick packing. He’s not going back to Genoa City. He’s going to the UK to be with Noah. Phyllis realizes she’s going home alone. He asks her to come with them, “If you want.” She repeats his words, “If I want.” She needs to get back to work. He gets it. He’s looking forward to extra time with Noah. Phyllis asks if they’re okay. He reassures her that they’re fine. She worries they’re falling apart and he denies that. It’s been a few frustrating weeks for him. It’s not an issue with her but his family. She knows and doesn’t want to create drama. She only wants to help. He asks if she went to Jack for advice and asks if it was awkward for him. She calls Jack a confidant. He just wants them to be happy. “You think he’s the best person to go to?” She couldn’t find him and she needed someone and he was there. She was outnumbered by Newmans. She laughs and says, “No offense.” Noah appears. Nick wants to take off without saying goodbye. Noah hates that he feels this way but understands. Phyllis tells Noah she needs to get back to the hotel. In their room, Lily knows Victor’s been dying to come after their company. Billy says, “This was different. It was like the timer was going on in his ongoing game of intimidation and he’s about to hit the ignition button.” He’s motivated to be prepared. Lily hopes he’ll think twice about bringing a blackmailer to a wedding. Billy goes online again. He hopes Gaines hasn’t posted the video. He told him he would if Billy didn’t. Since he hasn’t, Billy goes off for a walk.

Adam appears downstairs as Victor tells Victoria that Adam saved her wedding. She looks at him, surprised. Adam thanks the happy couple for including them at the wedding. Victor’s so happy his kids are putting their differences aside. Victoria says she understands that she owes him gratitude for saving her wedding. Adam’s just trying to fit in. They agree families look out for each other. Elsewhere, Sally eavesdrops as Phyllis asks if he has room for her on the jet. He does but hopes things aren’t worse for her and Nick. Sally smirks and goes. Noah appears as they’re talking about the wedding. He says goodbye to everyone and in a Batman whisper, Ashland says, “Thank you.” Noah drags Nikki aside to explain that Nick wants to say goodbye on his own. She runs off while Noah tells Adam he’s surprised that he didn’t wreak havoc. He likes keeping people on their toes. Upstairs, Nikki puts her hands on her hips and is upset that Nick isn’t saying goodbye to everyone else. He doesn’t want to cause more issues and is at the end of his rope with his dad. “You can’t just write him off,” Nikki says. Nick’s over it. He’s not sure he’ll be able to fix things with his sister. Nikki feels they can. He loves her optimism but he’s not the one she needs to convince.
Downstairs, Sally wishes Nick and Noah safe travels and when she learns Phyllis isn’t leaving with them, she wonders if there’s trouble in paradise. Adam appears and says goodbye. Victor approaches to talk to Nicholas — alone. Later, Jack is glad to have company on the way home. He misses Kyle, Summer and Harrison. She does too. Downstairs, Adam asks Sally to give them space. Victor asks Adam to launch an attack on Chance Comm and Billy. Adam nods. He’s been against this but that’s all over with. “You can count on me.” Billy listens in from nearby. Adam goes to pack and flashes to kissing Sally. She appears and he asks if she’s ready to reap the glory of her big success. She’s more than ready. In her room, Phyllis packs. Nick appears. He wanted a proper goodbye and asks her not to worry. He needs a few days to work out some things. “It’s gonna be fine.” He kisses her and they embrace. Jack comes out of the shadows and watches Phyllis once Nick goes. In their own room, Lily packs as Billy returns. He tells her about what he overheard. “They’re coming after us fast and hard.” He didn’t hear what they’re planning though. They need to strike first. The best defense is a good offense. Outside, Ashland and Victoria talk about him starting more treatments. He needs more time with her. Nothing will get in their way.

At Crimson Lights, Lauren complains to Michael about Sally. She’ll forgive Chloe, but not Sally. She wonders when this will end.
