Friday, August 18 recap of B&B: Beth and her guests wind down her party, Liam and Hope talk divorce, and Ridge asks Steffy what’s happening with Liam.
Thursday’s B&B recap: Ridge was dismissive of Eric’s request to collaborate on a new line and Beth celebrated her birthday with a mermaid party.
At Eric’s Hope awkwardly looks at Liam playing with the kids and then declares it’s time for presents.
The guests talk about how great it was to play mermaid all day.
Beth was just happy to be with her mom and dad… and cake.
Hope forces a smile. She thanks Donna for letting them have the party there.
Liam starts loading the presents to take them to the cabin.
Brooke and Donna suggest they take them home and leave the kids to swim.
Once Liam and Hope are gone, Deacon thanks everyone for including him in this.
They talk about the divorce and what it will do to the kids.
Brooke hopes that Liam and Hope will come to their senses and fight for their marriage.
Brooke thinks they just need to remember how much they cherish their family.
Hope and Liam bring all Beth’s gifts back to the cabin and talk about how fast she’s growing up.
The next thing they know she’ll be in high school.
Liam asks if they’ve done right by her. Hope says she’s happy for now because they haven’t told her.
He thinks they got lucky today.
He suggests they talk about the divorce papers.
They are in his car and they haven’t filed them yet.
He’s sure the press will pick up on this and have a field day. He just wants to protect Beth.
Hope wonders if they really have to burst her bubble.
She’s been making excuses for why he’s not home.
He thinks they will have to have a difficult conversation with her soon.
Neither of them wanted this for their daughter. He says they are here because of Thomas and admits he’s part of that too.
Liam still can’t understand why she let Thomas in and reminds her of all he did.
She knows all that and how lucky she is to have Beth in her life.
Liam wonders how she can turn to the man who tried to keep her from smelling her daughter’s hair.
How could she let him come between them?
They remember the night their daughter was born and taken from them.
Telling her they lost their child was the hardest thing he ever did.
But it was all Dr. Buckingham.
He will never be able to forgive Thomas for not telling them the truth and using it to manipulate her.
Luckily, Douglas told him the truth. The first time he held Beth as Beth was like a miracle. He remembers he had to fight Thomas to stop him from kidnapping her. But it was worth it because he got her to see the miracle of Beth. It was like a light went on in her eyes.
Tears stream down her cheeks as he says Thomas was content to let her grieve forever.
Liam says they are only as good as their worst choices.
Thomas is a dangerous person.
Liam says he still loves and cares about her.
Whatever happens between them, she will still be better than Thomas.

Daily B&B spoilers into August
At Forrester Creations, Ridge and Steffy talk about how great the latest designs are going.
He wonders if she’s avoiding the birthday party.
She didn’t want to be stuck between Liam and Hope.
Her father is sorry about what’s happening with Finn.
He never wanted her to fall into his drama-filled relationship footsteps.
Ridge urges her to open up and tells her she did the right thing moving into Eric’s.
She knows but it kills her to be away from her home and husband.
Ridge says Finn is a good guy but he has a weakness: Sheila.
Steffy complains about how twisted the “murderous psycho’s” hold on him is.
She worries about Sheila going after Hayes.
He brings up how concerned Liam is about her and asks what’s going on between them.
He admits he talked to her ex and asks if any old papers have resurfaced.
She insists that she has no time to think about Liam.
As soon as he backs off, she flashes back to kissing Liam.
