Friday, August 25, Y&R day ahead recap: Sharon wants to go rogue, Nikki lets Esther know her job is already in jeopardy, Tessa and Mariah talk to Sharon about their concerns over Aria’s hearing, and Nick surprises Sally.
Friday’s Y&R day ahead: Sharon & Nick Fume at Adam’s Declaration, Nikki Thinks Audra and Nate Need a Leash and Aria’s Pediatrician Has Bad News

Sharon arrives at the Tack House where Mariah and Tessa say they just got Aria to sleep after all the testing the doctor did.
Sharon’s glad that at least they know it’s a hearing problem and they can begin to fix it.
Mariah says they don’t know anything.
CBSAn audiologist is coming but they could say something different.
She apologizes for raising her voice but Sharon understands.
She urges them not to panic or lose hope.
They’ve been Googling worst-case scenarios. Talk turns to SNA.
Sharon calls it complicated and Mariah wants to listen so she tells him about the merger and Adam’s power play and that they’ll fight it. Sharon won’t give up her third of the company.
Tessa says she shouldn’t have to.
Sharon will fight anyone for it. She won’t step aside and let the boys takeover.
Mariah calls her fearless an strong. She needs that energy.
Tessa calls her the strongest and bravest of the three of them. Sharon agrees. They debate.
After she’s gone, Tessa suggests going hiking but Mariah’s in the zone, drying dishes.
She agrees it’s probably best to take their minds off of Aria.
Mariah should have noticed this sooner but Tessa says not to go there.
Mariah’s wheels are spinning. Tessa says to hang on. She’ll make a call.
Later, Devon stops by.
He heard about Aria and offers to answer any questions they have.
Mariah is touched and hugs him.
Nick arrives at Sally’s upset with Adam.
She sighs and he refuses to talk about him.
She calls it an Adam-free space.
They make out. After sex, they snuggle in bed.
She suddenly feels awkward to talk to him about his offer to fund a business for her.
He says it is.
She’ll give him a business plan.
He tells her she doesn’t need to pitch him.
He trusts her. She’s grateful. They start talking about Adam and how he went behind Nick’s back to hire her.
Nick says it’s all about what Adam wants or needs and if you try to stop him, he rolls over you.
Nick thinks she dodged a bullet. She reminds him they’re talking about Adam again.
Nick blames himself. He’s glad she came to him finally about the backing.
Later, they dress and talk about the meetings coming up.
She’s excited about her new company and he thinks she’s one “hell of an investment.”
If he could convince her to live with him… She stops him with a kiss. One thing at a time.
Adam goes to Victor at the ranch. He wants to be CEO of Newman Media, citing that he’s most qualified to run the company he created. “With your help, of course.”
Victor calls him magnanimous to say so.
He’s not surprised at his son’s request. He thinks it’s brazen.
Did he run it by Nick and Sharon? Adam says he will. This pisses off Victor.
He doesn’t like his methods. Adam is sorry for going after what he wants and thinks he deserves.
He knows his dad likes to keep the carrot just out of reach.
Victor yells that he got the merger. Why does he have to upset the apple cart?

Adam yells that he told him this was a good idea many times and yet Nate comes in and Victor finally listens. Why?
Victor says this isn’t about him, it’s about Adam’s methods.
Adam shakes his head in annoyance and his dad asks if he’s going to sulk now.
Adam will back off. Maybe Nate will suggest he run Newman Media and then Victor will agree.
He tells his dad he doesn’t need Audra Charles. “She’s out, correct?” Victor sighs. “We’ll see.” Once he’s gone, Nikki is in his place.
She wants information and Victor tells him about Adam wanting to be CEO of the merged companies.
Nicholas and Sharon would answer to him. Nikki thinks it’d cause more trouble.
The Black Knight says not to worry. She complains that he never listens to her.
He shrugs. It takes time for what she says to sink in. She suggests giving Adam a secondary position and Sharon and Nick would be in charge. He mulls it over.
Adam finds Esther behind the counter at Crimson Lights.
She explains why Sharon hired her.
He orders and she gives him an espresso on the house in celebration of her job.
Sally arrives to turn his job offer down.
Nick and Sharon meet at Society.
She suggests to her ex that they back out of the whole deal.
Take back Kirsten and make it their own.
Free of Newman, Victor and Adam. She doesn’t want to get into the familial issues.
Nick hears her but the paperwork was filed and the merger’s almost done.
It’ll be hard to get out of the deal. She already has lawyers looking over contracts.
Nick’s glad but worries this will dominate their lives. He shrugs.
They have been there before. He wonders if it is possible to turn Kirsten into what they wanted without Dad and Adam involved.
Victor walks up with a smug smile on his face.
He sits and they talk about Adam and his intentions with Kirsten.
He calls it crucial to the merger and it’ll be stripped down.
It’s the only way it can compete. Nick asks, “Are you talking about the company or the three of them working together?”
Nikki snoots on into Crimson and thinks Esther must be going through hard times to be behind the counter. Esther laughs and explains her new job to the blonde.
It’s temporary but she can’t see Sharon returning.
She’s too excited about her new business.
Esther likes doing this. Sharon tells her to hold off ordering business cards.
She hates to tell her this but confidentially, seems like the venture could be blowing up.
That bums Esther out. “Double darn,” she says, glumly.
They have a seat and talk about it, and how Adam gives Victor false hope that he’s going to turn into the son that Victor’s always wanted.
Now, Nick is caught in the middle, as usual. Esther doesn’t get Nick and Adam working together when they hate each other.
Nikki shrugs. “There’s no love lost.” Esther sees it all as trouble.
She’s upset that all her plans to have a jazz trio and a piano bar, jazzing up the menu… is all gone.
“And after all the time invested.” Nikki reminds her she’s been in charge for five minutes.
She’ll get over it.
In the other room, Sally tells Adam that she took his brother up on financing her new venture.
Adam calls it a mistake. She’ll thrive but who does she know it’s hers with Nick’s money behind it.
She says they discussed him being hands off.
Adam knows Nick well and he’ll pretend he’s hands off but in the end, he won’t resist. It’s the trait he shares with Victor.
Back at the ranch, Victor tells Nikki that Sharon might be the sticking point.
Nikki asks if this is worth it to Victor. How does it benefit him?
Nick and Sally sit at Society and discuss how Adam felt when she turned him down and how Sharon’s thinking of going on her own.
Nick wonders if he should bag the whole thing and focus on Sally’s business venture.
She only wants his capital as an investment.
Not a business partner. If she feels she has to answer to him, there’s no deal.
Sharon arrives at Crimson Lights and Esther whines that she is back to take control at Crimson Lights.
She complains and finally, Sharon says nothing has changed.
Things are on track if not better than they did before.
As she says this, Adam eavesdrops from the door.
