(Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for July 14, 2023 episode airs in the USA on July 17. Live by 4:15 PM EST daily.)
Victor pours himself a drink at the ranch and sits at his chess table looking upset. Nikki asks what’s up.
He says he’s concerned about how fractured their family is and wondering what to do to unite them.
So far, nothing is working and Victoria’s unpredictable. She pushed Nicholas out of the company with no warning and refused to buy McCall.
He shakes his head thinking about how isolated Adam feels after his loss.
Victor is so sad and doesn’t feel like part of the family. “In many ways, I feel I’ve failed.” He’s given them too much reign.
“I’m not sure I like where this is going,” his wife says, knowing he’s shown restraint in letting the kids do what they want.
He agrees but at what cost? He knows Victoria let Nate come in and he doesn’t trust him, not after what he did to his own family.
And he gave Adam the keys to the new Camelot and used the power to go after Newman Media.
Victor feels he’s been too easygoing with everyone and plans to put an end to it.
Adam watches Nick down some beer at Neil’s Jazz Lounge while in the background a pianist plays. Adam orders single malt neat and Nick asks him to leave Sharon alone.
Adam says this was Sharon’s idea and he’s not even sure it’s a good idea. Nick lashes out, reminding his brother he put Sharon through hell time and time again.
Adam thinks he should mind his business and help Sally heal. Nick doesn’t think she needs him hovering.
Adam snipes, “Yet your ex is defenseless and needs your help against the big bad wolf?” Nick says to stop.
Why can’t they be civil? Maybe they should stop. Adam says he had to save Faith’s life for Nick to be civil to him and it barely lasted a year.
Adam says maybe he’s right. They’re better off not trying. While Adam thinks they could stay out of each other’s lives, Nick says their dad won’t let it happen.
He’s determined they work together. They agree on one thing, Victoria dumping Nick for Nate wasn’t good. Adam jokingly asks how it feels being kicked out of the garden. There are way fewer snakes, he thinks.
Nick snarks he was thinking of teaming up with Adam. Adam doesn’t want him reporting to Victor but Nick says he helped him talk himself out of it.
They get a text from Victor to get to the ranch right now.

Chance wanders into Crimson Lights to Sharon closing up. He helps and tells her that Phyllis turned herself in.
Sharon’s glad. She offers to give him coffee. When he protests, she says she’ll make him a good one.
She asks how Phyllis seemed and he thinks she was resigned, contrite but not defeated.
Sharon thinks Michael told her to act like it. Chance says she’s in a heap of trouble. Neither can tell why she decided to turn herself in now.
Chance knows she has a stay-out-of-jail card, according to Heather, her lawyer.
They drink coffee and he looks through her Cameron Kirsten business documents.
He’s shocked to hear she owns Kirsten Incorporated now and wants to run it and turn it into something new. He’s amazed.
She’s energized and doesn’t think of it as blood money now. The core business is in shambles but still generates revenue. She’s turning evil into good. He’s glad for her.
She tells him about merging with McCall and as they talk, they lock eyes and start making out.
She goes to lock the door and gets back to tearing off each other’s clothing. They go back to her office.
Their shirts come off and Chance picks Sharon up and sets her on the sofa, kissing her lips and her stomach.
At a GCAC suite, Victoria’s glad Nate suggested the bar was boring and that they take their drinks upstairs.
He knew she was thirsty and wanted to do things to her he couldn’t do there without getting arrested.
He kisses her hand and hopes this means more to her than sex.
She says it does and asks what he wants from this relationship. He wants it all. To work with her and go back to their place.
They kiss after he tells her to give him one good reason they can’t have it all. Later, they’ve dressed and Victoria and Nate get the same text as Nick and Adam.
Victoria calls her dad to see if they’re okay. He tells them he’s fine and says to bring Nate to the ranch. He disconnects and Victoria worries. Nate assumes it’s about Newman.
Nick, Adam, Victoria and Nate turn up at the ranch. Adam brings up McCall International which is now called Inadustus International which means “scorched earth’.
Everyone sits and Victor talks about what the three of them have done and that he doesn’t trust Nate.
He says she bought McCall and Adam used it as a bulldozer to come after Neman Media. “I’ve had enough,” he yells.
He calls the shots and lays down the law. They’ll do what he wants from now on.
Nick and Nikki collectively purse their lips while Adam looks like he wants to argue.
Nick will help Adam run Adustus International, Nate will continue working with Victoria and then they’ll make Adustus International a subsidiary of Newman.
If they don’t like the new arrangement, they can go. Nick says, “Sure.” Victoria says he’s left her no choice. Adam shakes his head and gets up and walks out.
Victoria and Nate follow later and Nick hopes Adam will come around. If not, he’ll become more volatile. If he doesn’t come in line, Victor says he’s done with him.
At GCAC bar, Audra gets a text from Nate telling her about the meeting at the ranch. She spots Tucker who has been drinking and says the stars are aligning for him.
He buys her a drink to celebrate. He orders and talks about how much he likes the word mollusk.
She’s weirded out and he tells her he’s happy and what to do is to get rid of the past. Like him getting rid of McCall. She grins and he toasts to the world being his. She says he’s rambling and sounds drunk.
He is a bit giddy, he admits since he’s so happy. He won’t say why because he’s afraid to jinx it. When Audra gets a text from Kyle for “drinks and other things,” Tucker looks over her shoulder in shock. “Kyle Abbott?”
He’s shocked but understands it. He’s handsome and good for fun. She sees more potential.
She hired him at Newman Media. He asks if it was before or after they rolled around in bed and says he bets her a trip to Vegas he’ll screw it up. She refuses and takes off. She invites Kyle to her suite in a half hour.
Victoria and Nate go back to her office. She grins. They’ve got McCall to themselves, Nick is subservient and Adam’s gone.
They clink glasses. It’s what she wanted all along.
Back at Crimson Lights, Sharon and Chance have finished sex when someone pounds on her door.
She wonders if it’s serious and checks her phone. Adam’s been calling. She dresses and goes to get the door.
Adam’s there and tells her what happened with his new company which is moot.
They can’t merge but he wants all in with hers. He wants nothing to do with his family or father.
