Monday’s Y&R day ahead: Diane Saves Ashley’s Life, Tucker Causes a Rift Between Jack and Billy, and Threats Are Made While Aria’s Results Are Back
(Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for August 29, 2023 episode airs in the USA on August 30. Live by 4:15 PM EST daily.)
At the Tack House, Tessa cries as she sings “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” to Aria and then feels bad because Aria probably can’t hear her.
Mariah says maybe not but she can hear it. They put the baby down and Mariah says they’ll get through this.
They’ll need a lot of support so they agree to call Sharon.
First, Tessa needs a hug. She cries in her wife’s arms.
Adam finds Sharon at Chancellor Park and studies her. It’s that bad? She knew he’d try to get power.
He asks if she’s there to teach him a lesson. “Because that’s how I am,” she says with a grin.
He realizes she’s not. She tells him she’s made a decision that’ll affect the whole operation.
He overheard her and Esther talking and asks if she knows Victor’s plans or if she has a new plan.
She refuses to say this without Nick and Victor, even when he begs. They talk about how he thinks he created Newman Media.
Sharon reminds him that’s a stretch turned Cyaxares into Newman Media.
Locke’s company was solid before he took it over.
She goes on to tell him he pushed her too far and his actions have consequences.
He assumes she’s punishing him but she tells him he’s no victim.
He’s certain she and Nick are planning to “blow this whole thing up” and leave him in the cold.
Mariah calls and she excuses herself to swing by the Tack House, ignoring Adam’s pleas to tell him what’s coming.
Audra’s surprised when Victor tells her in her room at GCAC that he’s merged the companies and that Adam’s no longer a problem for her.
She asks where it leaves her.
He has plans for her.
The management structure is being worked out and he’s just there to reassure her.
She’s curious and worries that he could be giving her a demotion and an office in the basement.
Nikki embraces Nick at the ranch and they discuss Adam’s power play at length and how worried Victor is that Nick and Sharon will walk away from the entire deal.
Nick says they’re considering options.
Nikki bemoans the damage done to the deal and Nick knows his dad has gone out of his way to ensure Adam’s not sidelined because he didn’t grow up as a Newman.
They wonder how it’ll last and Nick thinks there’s nobody who can “fail upwards” like Adam.
Nikki asks for patience but he can’t do it. He has valid concerns. Sharon may lose everything and it’s obvious nobody can control Adam.
Nick’s tired of the drama. His mama knows. Ultimately, Victor wants to keep the family together.
Nick comments that he thinks he’s all-powerful but not when it comes to Adam.
They agree that Adam likes being seen as an outcast and then Nikki begs to talk about anything else.
She’s sick of talking about Adam. So is he.
They talk about the perpetual mutant and Nick wonders if Dad would allow it from him or Victoria.
Nikki asks him not to discuss it. It makes her worry he’ll turn away from the family again.
He says it’s one thing to have the drama in his personal life but not in his professional life.
Nikki starts to fret as he is reminded of why he walked away in the first place.
Nikki asks him to wait to see how this plays out.
Nate texts Victoria that he misses her when Audra calls for a meeting.
Nate turns up a few minutes later and she tells him about what Victor told her about the merger happening.
He knew it might be coming since Victor asked for his input.
She worries she’ll be pushed out.
Nate thinks Victor would have told her by now.
She admits he praised her and Nate notes that he doesn’t do that lightly.
He comforts her and assures things will be fine.
She appreciates his support more than he knows.
She’s used to Tucker, who is only loyal to himself.
Nate says that’s what friends do.
They talk about Victoria getting held up in LA. She’ll be another day or two.
She suggests dinner.
She’ll text. He goes and she gets a text from Kyle asking her to dinner.
She can’t but offers drinks before. That’ll have to do, Kyle says.
Victor turns up at the ranch and notes the hostility in the room.
Nick says he’s tired of the way things are going at work and that Adam never faces consequences from his father.
Victor claims he’ll handle his brother as he sees fit.
Nick shrugs him off. He can do what he wants but says there is no guarantee he’ll be a part of it anymore.
He gets a text and rushes off. Nikki warns that he might pull away from the family again and she can’t have that.
She says he’s hurt that Adam’s a problem despite his efforts and that he keeps getting handed chances.
Victor’s trying to do what’s best but Nikki cautions that to Nicholas, it’s preferential treatment.
Victor seems to think he’s only facilitated them to work together and he’s tired of the fighting.
He’ll come up with a solution, one they may not like. “And I don’t give a damn.”
At Crimson Lights, Adam sees Nate who asks how the new venture is going.
Adam can see he knows something but refuses to discuss it.
Nick turns up and Nate asks him what’s going on with Newman Media.
Adam says he’s just gossiping.
Nick says the merger is on the table but it’s on hold so may not happen.
“So you are in on it,” Adam says, making Nate even more curious.
