In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Victoria agrees to let Chelsea spend time with Johnny, and Mariah and Tessa head to meet Delphine. In the previous episode, Mariah and Tessa heard back about the adoption and Phyllis was still furious about Diane.

At Crimson Lights, as Danny and Daniel talk about Lucy, Danny tells his son he’s proud of him for what he’s doing and the man he’s determined to be.
They’re excited to work together. Danny’s going to get back and start recording but he reminds his son this is his show.
They agree communication is key. Danny says to come visit whenever he wants.
They hug and Danny says he’ll see him soon. They say I love yous.
He goes and Danny’s about to text Cricket when she walks in. “Danny.” He smiles. “Cricket?”
He was about to call her but he wasn’t sure if she was back from her trip.
She says her and Paul got back today. She’s there for a meeting with Mariah and Tessa who want to adopt.
She thinks they’ll be wonderful mothers. Danny thinks Sharon will be a good grandparent, too.
Christine asks him to stick around until after her meeting.
Sharon, Tessa and Mariah are excited that they’ll be flying out to see Delphine soon. Meeting her tomorrow could change their lives.
Christine goes to Tessa and Mariah and lets them know that Delphine responded well to their letter and profile.
More than the other prospects. Sharon calls them a great team. Mariah and Tessa are thrilled.
Mariah’s stomach is flipping over.
Tessa says it’s casual but so much more. Mariah calls it the most important interview.
She’ll have so many questions. If they don’t form a connection, it’d hurt.
Christine says not to get ahead of themselves. Sharon calls adoption a process and wants them to take it slow.
Christine says to be themselves. Ask her questions too so they feel like they’re on equal footing.
Danny eavesdrops as they talk and smiles to himself, flashing back to when Cricket was modelling for Jabot, and their first meeting and when he told her he was in love with her.
He flashes back to them being married and how happy they were.
He then remembers their divorce talk when he cheated on her with Phyllis.
Later, he remembers wishing her and Paul the best.
He only wanted her happiness. He seems upset when he remembers all of this.
Christine wraps things up with Tessa and Mariah and they take off as Sharon thanks Christine for shepherding them through this.
She’s in tears as she thanks her and Christine goes into the other room and thanks Danny for waiting.
He tells her it’s worth it to have time with her.
They discuss her being in private practice and his flourishing career in selling out shows and making music.
He calls himself fortunate.
He has good fans but being on the road is harder, though he loves to see the world. Gina flies out and they sing on occasion together.
He was with her on Thanksgiving.
He brings up Daniel and how he and Phyllis have been rallying around him in his time of need.
She repeats the post that Phyllis wrote on Instagram.
She’s glad they were together but didn’t know he and Phyllis were in such close touch over the years.
She’s bitter as she talks about the past with Phyllis. Danny often wonders what would have been between them if Phyllis didn’t happen.
But then he wouldn’t have had Daniel. He says it wasn’t easy but they’re in a good place. Cricket barks that she’ll never forget what Phyllis did.
She almost cost her her life. She tears up and Danny’s sorry. Cricket calls him a victim too.
She’s glad they found happiness even if it wasn’t together. He recalls they last saw each other during her wedding.
She says her and Paul are doing well. He admits he’s seeing someone and it’s casual.
Given his schedule, he’s not sure where it’s going. There’s always room for a dear friend. She smiles.
They agree that she and Paul will come to one of his concerts.
He wishes they had more time.
She wonders if that’s his way of asking her to take him to the airport. He doesn’t want to impose but there’s so much more to discuss. She agrees and she takes him to the airport.

In Nate’s office, Victoria and Nate do business. She’s not happy that Nick isn’t there for the meeting.
Nate asks if he can do anything about the conflict between them due to her hiring him to replace Sally.
Victoria calls Nate an asset to their company and asks if Nick has given him trouble. Nate denies that.
She says that Nick blended his personal life with his work life. Nate vows not to repeat his mistake there at Newman.
She has confidence. She knows her and her brother will get over this.
They always have each other’s back when it matters. Nick’s glad. Nate asks if there’s more on her mind. He’ll get them some coffee.
She smiles and agrees to it. They drink and she tells him that Reid’s in a good place and that Johnny’s at an age where he wants to pull away but there are extremely complicated things going on.
The situation is harder than she anticipated, she says, vaguely.
Nate calls her understanding, and forgiving and says she never misses a trick.
He thinks Johnny can trust her to know what he needs.
He asks her to give him space. She listens and smiles. She’s grateful and admits it made her feel better.
At Society, Lily and Nick catch up. She’s unhappy and it’s easy to see. Nick invites her to sit and wants to talk about Nate joining Newman Media.
He apologizes on behalf of the company if they had any part in her family’s conflict. She thanks him for that.
They were both shocked at how it went down and Lily says they’ve no proof of what went down but she can figure it out herself.
She tells him Nate’s job spells it out. Nick can’t confirm anything but Lily knows he wasn’t involved.
She’s grateful. She has been let down by many and has to roll with it.
Nick furrows his brow, thinking there’s something else going on with Billy.
He offers to listen. She thanks him but declines. Nick’s impressed with the work Lily has done.
That means a lot to Lily. He makes her smile, wishing her a happy new year.
Billy stops by Chelsea’s, surprising her. He wants to see how Connor’s project at school went.
She eyes him and says her kid isn’t home yet. She thinks he has another reason for coming.
He didn’t come to burden her with his issues. She reminds him that friendship means they share each other’s problems.
She’s not fragile and insists he opens up. He tells her Lily thinks they might be done.
Chelsea’s shock is obvious. She tells him to bring Lily flowers and he stops her.
This isn’t about Chelsea. Lily wants to call it quits because he’s self-centered and restless.
It’s why he quit the podcast. He’s constantly in need of the next best thing, the thing that’s going to give him a rush that will make him feel alive.
It’s been his track record and he says he’s less than an ideal long-term partner.
Chelsea refuses to let him beat himself up. Is he willing to give up?
She pressures him to go to her and beg for a second chance. Billy texts Lily to meet.
He goes and she almost texts Billy but then decides against it and texts Victoria, asking if she can take Johnny to pizza one night this week.
Victoria says he has too much homework and then thinks for a moment.
She changes her reply and says sure, they’ll find a night that works.
Billy meets Lily at Glam Club and tells her he wants to fight for them.
He asks for another chance. She worries about his lack of effort and says it hurt her.
She tears up. He says he messed up. He’s sorry. He’ll make an appointment today for therapy.
He wants to fight for them. He wants her with all his heart. She cries and agrees to keep trying.
