Fri Jan 19, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Victor interrogates Cole; Lauren helps Nikki keep a secret; Ashley backs Tucker into a corner.
Thursday’s recap: Nikki Finds Seth Rifling Through Her Desk, Jack Makes Diane an Offer, And Audra Tells Tucker He’ll End Up Alone

Memorial’s Psych Ward
At Memorial, Claire has a nightmare that Aunt Jordan’s telling her to wake up and that she’ll never escape her.
They’re alike, she says. “I’m burned in your soul forever.”
Claire wakes up panting and freaking out. Victoria tells her it’s okay and that she’s not alone.
Victoria wanted to check on her and is proud of her for seeing her aunt, which couldn’t have been easy.
Claire says nothing for long moments. She felt justice was being served seeing her for a moment.
Now, she says there’s so much therapy in store that it scares her.
Claire is sarcastic as she tells her mom that they told her it’s a healing process that won’t happen overnight.
Victoria agrees. When she heals, gets better and is released, they’ll go at her pace and get to know one another.
She can decide if she wants to be a part of the family.
Claire figures she knows it all and they hold terrible grudges against each other.
She calls them cold and spiteful and Victoria says not all of them.
She can decide on her own how she feels.
Claire smirks and asks if she’ll really be a part of her life and if her dad will.
She wonders if they’ll make good parents and if she will make a good daughter.
Victoria says time will tell and asks for a chance to make up time lost.
Claire begins to sob and throws herself into Victoria’s arms. They cry together and Claire pulls away, suddenly.
Victoria says that’s what family is about.
Claire needs to get ready for her session but says they can continue to visit her. She invites her kid to call anytime.
The Newman Ranch
Cole visits Victor at the ranch and they discuss how Claire has changed everything, and made Cole a father.
Victor thinks steps need to be taken and Cole disagrees.
Victor wants to know what Cole’s intentions with Claire are.
Cole says he’s taking it slow, trying to care for her.
He’s on sabbatical from teaching to work on his book that he can write anywhere.
He plans on being a part of his kid’s life no matter what and will live in Genoa City for now. He asks what Victor plans.
Vic’s concerned about his daughter first and foremost.
Newman Enterprises
Lauren visits Nikki at Newman Enterprises and immediately tells her friend she stands by her decision to tell Jack about Nikki falling off the wagon.
Nikki admits she is angry. Furious! Not with her but with herself for what she’s done to her family and friends. It’s unfair.
Lauren says not to worry about them, and to focus on her energy and recovery.
Nikki knows she’ll face this on her own but Lauren says it’s too much of a burden for her.
Nikki says she hasn’t had a drink since Lauren came to her rescue. Lauren’s glad but the war isn’t over.
She doesn’t think Nikki should rely on Seth who is fighting his own battle when Jack does. Plus, he adores her.
Nikki thinks it could compound her issues and lead to another. “Victor.” The rivalry goes back decades.
Nikki considers keeping it from Victor who would rather be there for her but Lauren doesn’t like it.
Just then, Victor appears, happy to see two friends talking.
He wants to take them to lunch but Lauren needs to work.
Abbott mansion
At the Abbott household, Ashley tells Jack she saw Tucker, who denied getting violent in Paris.
Jack says to stay away from the man. She’s not sure how since he’s around every turn.
Jack asks her not to let the man get under her skin. The divorce is final, she knows who the man is.
It’s time to purge herself.
Ashley shakes her fists in the air and screams that it’s not that easy.
Jack says they can’t get him out of their lives until he’s out of hers.
She knows and needs to talk to him. She runs off with Jack sighing.

Athletic Club
At the Athletic Club, Billy and Devon have breakfast and discuss work.
Tucker finds them and accuses them of circling the wagons and joining forces to go against him.
He’s flattered about it. Billy isn’t surprised he’s flattered being called a corporate raider.
Tucker’s putting his energy into Glassade.
Billy’s surprised they’d want to get close to him but Tucker says he replaced his entire board. Billy sneers.
He must think that’s a successful launch.
Tucker agrees but says he’s only focused in his company. Not theirs. He won’t destroy his grandkid’s future. Tucker goes.
The men aren’t sure they believe him.
Tucker heads upstairs and runs into Ashley who wants to talk.
Since she won’t do it in his room or there, he follows her to the lounge.
Neil Winters Lounge
In the lounge, Ashley asks him to admit what happened in Paris. He thinks she’s playing games and asks why she’s making him out to be a monster.
She snaps at him and he tells her she has a problem with commitment.
He thinks her love scared her off. What they had was real and it scared her.
He feels she chose family but she disagrees. They repeat their same old argument and he says when things get too real, she always runs to family.
Ashley says he doesn’t know her and tells him to go.
The Abbott manse
Lauren returns to see Jack at his house and talks about how Nikki’s starting to come around.
Society
At Society, Victor’s glad to have lunch with his beautiful wife.
He’s concerned about Victoria, he says since she’s going through so much.
He tells his wife about his chat with Cole and says the man was vague about his plans.
Nikki assumes it depends on Claire’s recovery.
Victor worries Cole and Victoria will fall in love again.
Crimson Lights
At Crimson Lights, Victoria tells Cole how their daughter seems like she finally has hope.
She hugged me, Victoria confides. Cole’s so happy to hear that.
Victoria thinks she’s desperate for their love and support.
It makes her feel they’ll get their daughter back. Cole tells her about the meeting with her dad and Victoria scoffs at how overprotective he is.

At the Abbott manse, Traci says to Ashley, “There’s your version, there’s his version. So how can we get closer to the facts?”
Ashley says she knows of a way.
At Daniel’s condo, Heather says, ‘Is a future with Lily still what you want?”
Daniel tells his ex, “You know, I’m not sure.”
In prison, Jordan’s on a call with a cell phone. “Claire?”
Claire is almost panting with fear as she listens.
“Claire? Please don’t hang up,” Jordan says.
