In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Nikki and Victor are angry about Victoria’s choice, Nick confronts Nate, and Audra and Tucker catch up on their plans. In the previous episode, Traci tried to end the squabbling between Jack and Ashley by suggesting they remember John’s advice.

Nikki walks into her daughter’s office at Newman and demands to know what she did to Nick.
She guesses she ordered him to take a leave. Victoria insists it was the right thing to do.
Nick is stubborn and she had to make the call. Her mother is not impressed by this and asks what the next move is.
Victoria says she is not scheming to push Nick out and is sick and tired of people second-guessing her decisions for the company.
Victor strolls in and asks what’s going on. His wife shuts the door and explains the situation with Nick for him.
Victoria makes her case and insists that this is nothing like what happened with Locke. Her parents think Nick is perfectly capable of working and dealing with his personal affairs.
Once again, Victoria insists that this was her decision to make and she doesn’t know why they are making a big deal about this.
Nikki suggests this has something to do with her relationship with Nate.
Audra arrives at the door and eavesdrops before walking off.
Victor sits down as his daughter goes on about how impressive Nate is. She refuses to be interrogated about how she is running the company and storms out.
“We struck a nerve, didn’t we? That troubles me,” Victor says.
At the GCAC, Tucker calls out to Nate as he arrives and asks if he’s still called “Dr.” Nate starts bragging about all the work he’s done in his new career.
Unimpressed, Tucker thinks Audra deserves a lot of the credit for that.
Nate tries taunting him about Audra being disappointed when she was
working for him.
Nick stomps in and corners Nate. McCall decides to stick around and orders another drink.
Nick tells Nate that he’s a problem and he knows hiring him was a mistake.
He accuses him of using Victoria as a target and dredges up what he did to his own family’s company.
He’s unsettled that his sister is central to his power moves. He accuses him of angling for his COO job and exploiting his situation for that end.
Nate is adamant that he is not a danger to the company and claims he doesn’t think Victoria will make him interim COO. Nick doesn’t buy it.
He’s not upset with his sister but he’s worried Nate is out to take full advantage. He reminds him of betraying his family and Elena.
Nick is appalled by what he did to Neil’s family. Nate says he ultimately didn’t betray anyone. He’s tried to make up for it ever since.
Nate wishes there was something he could do to allay his suspicions. “Stay in your lane at Newman Media,” Nick tells him. That’s the only way to prove he’s not running some master plan.
Although he can respect where he’s coming from, Nate won’t say no if Victoria asks him for help.
“Well, there it is,” Nick concludes.
He’s tired of all the insults. He’s sorry for what Nick has been through but tells him not to blame him for his not being there when Sally lost her baby. Nick fumes.
Victoria arrives and Tucker suggests she break things up before they get physical.
She heads to the table and Nate rises, saying that her brother is just jumping to conclusions but he can handle it.
Nick gets a text. He tells them to do what they need to do and walks out.
Nate says she looks like she’s been through the wringer.
She explains her parents were angry at her choice but that’s only strengthened her resolve.
Nick’s leave of absence is immediate so she would like to name Nate interim COO immediately. Is he okay with that?
Victor and Nikki go to Society and talk about all the chaos in the family.
Everyone is being driven away and Adam is on a downward spiral.
It upsets him that all the kids are leaving.
One thing that he’s sure of is that Nate has something to do with their son’s departure. She nods.
He also assumes that this plan is mostly their daughter’s and Nate is going along for the ride.

When Adam arrives at the hospital, he’s startled to see Sally is not in her bed.
A nurse tells him she’s getting final tests before her release.
Sally returns, unhappy to see him.
He begs her not to turn him away after all that has happened.
She repeats that she doesn’t want to see him. He knows that seeing him is painful but he wants to help her get through this.
Spectra explains the doctor says she’s fine and needs to walk more.
Adam is sure that talking about what’s happened will help. He wants to explain his decision.
She admits she heard all he said earlier when he thought she was asleep.
She knows he would make the same decision again and that is not what she wants to hear right now.
Sitting with her, he asks if there is something she wants to say to him. She can’t forgive him. Adam repeats that he had to save her life.
Time was of the essence and he had to make a life changing decision. He’s grieving their baby but at least he’s not grieving her.
Even if he had opted to save the baby, there was no guarantee she would survive.
He couldn’t lose Sally and she will still be able to have another child. If there was only one life he could save, it had to be hers.
Crying, Sally asks him to go.
After he does, a nurse brings her forms to fill out. She cries as she looks at the stillbirth certificate.
Nick arrives to pick her up. She’s ready to go. Just being there makes her heartache.
Seeing Adam messes her up even more.
He won’t keep pushing her to forgive his brother. Before they can leave, he asks if she’s given any more thought to his offer to move in with him.
She’s touched by the offer but needs time to think about it. Right now, she just wants to go to her room and take a long shower and rest.
Adam goes to the jazz lounge. Audra sidles up to him, guessing who he is and saying he looks like he has a lot on his mind.
He may not know her yet, but she thinks he should.
He’s not interested, no matter how flirtatious she gets. She claims there was no flirting; she’s just curious about her competition.
He gives her a warning but she’s not impressed by his track record and sordid exploits.
He’s already heard she might be headed to the top at Newman Media after Victoria drags Nate into the parent company.
She claims she’s more than ready for that.
“I bet you are,” he says.
She goes on about how convenient it is to live in the club. Tucker wanders in and pays his condolences.
Adam isn’t interested in talking to either of them and exits, refusing to speak to his future “rival in charge.”
Tucker asks her if she’s actually pulled off her plan. She claims all the pieces are falling into place and it’s only a matter of time.
“Heavy is the head that wears the crown…be careful what you wish for,” he warns. She knows exactly what she’s in for.
He warns her that Adam is trouble. She’s not scared.
He tells her how well things are going with Ashley, although she’s still hellbound on taking over Jabot. He thinks that’s destined to fail.
Adam goes to his room and stares in bed as he recalls Sally telling him he’s the father of her child. That changed everything for him.

“You lied to Kyle…again,” Jack tells Diane.
“Kyle wants to separate,” Summer tells Nick as she pouts.
“My achievements are not limited to the boardroom. I’ve got some moves,” Audra brags to Kyle. “I bet you do. How about you show me some,” he suggests.
