Tuesday, August 1, Y&R day ahead recap: Sharon has to decline a picnic with Chance, Summer is crushed to hear about Audra and Kyle’s trip, and Ashley and Billy discuss her plan.
Monday’s Y&R day ahead: Adam Guesses the EMT Was Bought When Phyllis Asks for Dirt on Tucker, and Abby Wants Nothing to do with Ashley’s Revenge Wedding

Sharon bounces into Crimson Lights and finds Chance ready with a picnic basket.
He invites her to have breakfast with him.
Being with her is the best part of his day.
She’d love to but has a meeting with Adam who is waiting for her. Chance shrugs it off and they agree to lunch, later.
They kiss and he moans into her mouth.
Jack is up and dressed before he wakes Mrs. Abbott up. She loves the sound of that, as does he. He asks if she wants a more formal wedding later.
She says a celebration would be nice.
He gives her tea and a rose and they kiss before he faces an attack from Ashley.
Diane says they’ll face it together. “Together forever,” she says with a grin.
They make out. Later, they meet Billy downstairs who congratulates them again and says he made progress with Ashley who is convinced he’s furious with Jack for rushing into the wedding.
“We hardly rushed,” Diane says. Jack reminds her that’s what his sister thinks. Billy says it’s time to escalate. Diane’s thankful he is their spy.
At the Athletic Club in Tucker’s room, they dress and she’s glad they stayed there, away from Jack.
She tells Tucker she’s done trying to protect her brother.
Tucker prays and hugs her, grateful she’s moving on. They talk about her perspective and father’s legacy.
Tucker wants to stay home and have sex but she says they’ve too much to do.
He looks forlorn and she gives him a playful shove.
At the Chancellor’s estate, Devon paces and looks outside and then at Katherine’s portrait.
He flashes back to talking to her about being given a job offer from Tucker but how he wasn’t sure the man was using him.
Katherine gave Tucker another chance because she hoped he was capable of change.
Besides, he’s family and you always back up your family, no matter how much they disappoint you.
At Jabot, Diane tells Jack that replacing Mariah will be tough.
She understood the brand. She looks over resumes when Summer interrupts.
She congratulates them on their marriage and they invite her to the celebration in the fall. She’d be happy to go.
He asks how she is and she’s hanging in there. She says she brought Chelsea in as Creative Director. Jack has faith in her view and what they’ll accomplish.
She tells them that Harrison told her Kyle was on a trip. Diane says he and Audra are on a business trip in New York. Summer scoffs.
They’re sleeping together. She reveals he admitted it. Hurt, she tells them she’s sorry and has a meeting.
Once she’s gone, Diane lashes out, wondering what the heck Kyle is thinking. Jack doesn’t think they can salvage their relationship.
It breaks Diane’s heart but Jack thinks he’s running from the pain. They’ll deal with this together.
Billy winds up in Chancellor Park.
He flashes to talking to Jack about being put in an untenable situation.
He makes a call to find Ashley and then heads to the Athletic Club.

In the lounge at the Athletic Club, Tucker and Ashley finish breakfast and discuss Billy and Jack going head-to-head.
They ponder if he’s looking out for number one still or if he really is on their side.
Billy strolls in and Ashley calls him over. “Join us.”
Tucker has a meeting with Devon so runs off while Billy sits and lies that he’s avoided their brother at all costs today. He claims he couldn’t sleep.
Meanwhile, Ashley says it’s all she thinks about. Something needs to be done.
Billy asks how they talk sense into him. Ashley says that’ll never happen.
She worries that Jabot is destined to fail and asks how far he’s willing to go to protect what’s theirs.
With prodding by Billy, she’s sure Diane will mess things up since she doesn’t know what she’s doing.
Everyone will see how she’s hurting their father’s company. Ashley knows he can fix everything. Once it’s weakened, they’ll step in and save the company.
“You could be the hero of the company,” she says. He gets it but has to think about it.
Summer sees Chance at Crimson Lights and notices the picnic basket. He invites her to eat though she hasn’t much of an appetite. She offers to sit with him while he eats. Her meeting was cancelled.
At the park, Summer tells Chance that Audra and Kyle are on a trip together.
She complains that she’s sleeping with “my husband.” It hit her hard. He can imagine.
She assumes there’s more to it since they’re always together but isn’t sure why she can’t let it go. Chance says she is grieving the loss of her marriage.
He had dreams with Abby and had to grieve over the end of their marriage. “You’ll get there.” Summer has lost Kyle before and says this is different.
She might need closure. He’s not sure that’s “a thing.”
Things are similar for them both, co-parenting. She admits if he wanted her back, she isn’t sure she would say yes. “Too much has changed.”
He calls that a big step. When he points out an American Goldfinch, she says, “What?” He shows her the bird and says he learned about them in Boy Scouts.
She smiles learning that he did normal things. Summer says she and her mom were in the Sunflower Girls.
It didn’t last long because it’s not very Phyllis-like. Sharon appears. She felt bad and pushed her meeting back so they could eat.
“But I see Summer’s taken my place.” Summer offers to go but Sharon asks her to stay. Summer has to get back to work and thanks Chance.
Sharon asks how she is and Chance thinks she’ll be alright. Summer watches as they dig into the picnic basket.
Later, Chance feeds Sharon blueberries and they kiss and talk about how Summer needs a friend.
At Devon and Abby’s, Tucker’s thankful to his son for being his best man.
Devon’s happy for him but Abby’s pretty upset with her mama who is determined to tear down Jabot because she hates Diane.
Tucker defends Ashley’s reasoning. They share a laugh that Tucker’s the reasonable one in the relationship.
Tucker thinks the feud is breaking her heart and wants to spare her more pain.
Back at Jabot, Summer gives the press release to Diane about hiring Chelsea.
She’s hurting she says when Diane prods her but she has to move on. Jack looks saddened.
Tucker returns to the Athletic Club and they discuss her talk with Billy and he says he’s interested in what they’re building.
He wants her to make things right with Abby. She’s confused. He doesn’t want what they’re doing to come between the two.
Back at Jabot, Billy tells Jack and Diane their news, that Ashley had a proposal for him to join their version of their plan, to be a trojan horse.
To allow Diane to damage Jabot enough for Tucker and Ashley to come in and rake the assets for Simply Ashley to take control.
“Swallow up Jabot.”
Diane is annoyed that it’s all about her. She thinks it’s a good thing. They need to find out how to use it to their advantage.
