Thursday, June 29, 2023, Y&R day ahead episode recap: Summer and Nick catch up on their disastrous lives, Michael fills Lauren in about his meeting with Phyllis, and Kyle bumps into his parents at the club.
Tuesday’s Y&R day ahead recap:Kyle and Audra had sex, Ashley revealed to Billy she had a Scheme, and Victor gave Nate and Victoria a warning.

Jack and Diane dance in the jazz lounge and she tells him she feels like the two of them can conquer the world. He promises they are unstoppable together.
At a table, they toast to her resilience. He admires how she is never derailed.
She does worry that Kyle came to the club to sleep to get away from his wife. They just hope things work out for them.
Jack says they may have to learn the hard way about love and forgiveness.
Diane tells him how lucky they are to know struggle is just part of the life. You cherish what you have when you have it. That’s what she learned when she threw everything away.
They both made a lot of mistakes when they were younger. Having him back in her life makes her grateful for every moment.
He’s sure luck and fate play a part in all this. They’re not perfect and are walking into this marriage with eyes open.
She takes great pride in knowing that Phyllis and Ashley are stuck in the past. They kiss.
In his suite, Michael makes out with Lauren. He stops and explains that he had an unexpected visitor as he was setting the stage for their rendezvous.
It was Phyllis in a trench coat. She’s sure that was surreal.
He shows her all the flowers and champagne he’d arranged. She’s impressed by the effort. But first, she wants to know if he’s figured out a way to bring Phyllis back without her life being wrecked.
The lawyer says there are no guarantees. The most he can do is try. The only other option is grim.
They hope she makes the right choice because they miss her. He’s known she’s alive for awhile, but seeing her in person… It was incredible but heartbreaking.
She will have to pay for some of her crimes and her life will never be the same. Lauren isn’t so sure. Just look at Diane.
As they drink champagne, they laugh about their friend’s many misdeeds. She wonders what it would take to make her turn over a new leaf.
He says that prison helped him. But nothing seems to help Phyllis.
Lauren suggests they just need to find the right motivation. He loves her optimism but she’s banking on his problem-solving abilities.
She has no doubt he will help Phyllis. The lawyer says she’s going to have to meet him halfway.
There is a boatload of charges.
His wife has faith and he takes that as a challenge.
She says they should forget about all that now and concentrate on their romantic evening.
They kiss.
After sex, they lounge and toast in bed.

Summer walks around the Abbott estate calling for Kyle.
She slumps in a chair and thinks about how they thought they were destined to last forever.
Her mom sends her a text to say she met with Michael.
“This is all your fault,” she grumbles.
Nick shows up and she asks how he is after everything that happened.
She’s glad Cameron is dead. He says he meant business.
Nick explains Sharon and Faith are doing the best they can and they are all getting through it.
He adds he’s taking some time away from work, but that wasn’t his call.
Plus, Sally lost the baby the day Faith was kidnapped.
His daughter says that’s awful. “It’s a lot to deal with,” he says. Sally’s not doing great.
He assumes she called him over for a reason. She doesn’t want to pile anything else onto him and suggests they talk next week.
He pushes her to talk so she tells him about Kyle wanting to separate. He’s sorry and hugs her while she pouts.
She fills him in on all the latest with Phyllis. They are still looking for a way to help her avoid being arrested for murder.
He’s grateful Phyllis is alive but can’t understand her making her daughter responsible for fixing her problems. Summer can see the logic of what her mom did.
Nick points out what she did to Kyle’s mother.
“I tried to protect my mom and it turns out it might have cost me my marriage,” she says. She was so angry when Kyle was shielding his mom, but then hers ended up being alive.
She knew what she was doing was horrible while she was doing it, but it created distance with Kyle.
Summer put her mom ahead of her marriage and tries convincing herself she had no choice.
Now Kyle won’t even look at her. She asks how she can fix this.
Nick is sure that Kyle will eventually see that her mother put her in a terrible position.
She wants to believe that but it’s taken them a long time to build up trust and she destroyed it.
Her father is sure they can get through the rift if they both want it, but she suspects it’s really the end. Her brain keeps telling her to fight but she feels lost.
Nick wishes she’d come to him sooner to help. So does she but everything unraveled quickly.
He agrees that she should hold her mom responsible for this mess. Her mom is a cyclone that destroys everything in its path.
Summer says the worst part is that they don’t even have a way to bring her mom home. She’s scared there’s no way to make things right.
He encourages her to be patient. Things will get worse before they get better and Kyle will need a lot of space. She plans to listen to him this time.
He’s sure her husband will come around because he knows how manipulative her mom is. He offers to talk to Kyle.
Kyle and Audra are in her bed at the club.
She says this was something fun they needed, but it doesn’t need to be more than that. There’s no pressure from her end.
He doesn’t want to sneak out and climbs on top of her and they go another round.
When he suggests they order room service, she says she has work she has to do. He gets it and appreciates how upfront she’s been.
She tells him he can dress after they shower. He thinks that is a helluva great idea.
After the shower, they get dressed and he tells her he had a great time.
She had a sensational time. They kiss and he takes off.
She smiles to herself and then starts looking him up online.
Nate sends her a text saying their worlds will change tomorrow. “Maybe mine already has,” she says to herself.
As Kyle walks downstairs, he bumps into his parents in the lobby.
They wonder what he’s doing there.
He claims he was just getting away from tension in the house.
Having a shower, he realized that he shouldn’t stay away and wants to be by Harrison when he wakes up.
His parents are glad he’s realized that. He abruptly rushes off.
They hate seeing him so “off” but decide to table that and make out.
When Jack and Diane get home, Nick is just leaving. They tell Summer that Kyle is on his way back and offer to wait up for her. She tells them that’s not necessary.
Once they head upstairs, Kyle arrives. His wife says hi. He stares and then trudges upstairs.
