Tuesday, July 25, Y&R day ahead recap: Victor puts Nate in his place, Sally tells Adam she’s been too harsh with him, and Jack and Billy bicker about their plan.
Monday’s Y&R day ahead: Victor threatened Phyllis, Jack and Diane declared war on Ashley and Tucker, and Victor made Sally an offer.

In Sally’s suite at the GCAC, Nick tells her about his plans for the day. She thanks him for being there. She’s grateful to wake up with him.
After they kiss, she asks what he thinks about Victor’s offer. He doesn’t know what to say. She explains she refused to work with a Newman before because of the situation with Adam but things have changed since she lost the baby.
He urges her to take as much time as she needs. She feels like she has to be practical and Victor’s offer is a good career move. Nick wonders if she can trust his father.
She’s wary but has to settle on the best deal for her and Chloe. Victor’s offer would be a dream job with anyone else. Plus, it means a lot that he made the offer. It would mean a lot to turn his opinion of her around.
Nick assures her the only thing that matters is how the feel about her. She wants Victor’s trust. They continue to wonder if this is a game.
Half-nude Nate is surprised when Audra shows up at his suite to drop off his suit. She admires how much he’s accomplished in such a short period of time. He’s determined to dress the part.
Nate bumps into Adam at Crimson Lights. The Newman admires his new suit and wishes him luck at his new job.
They start sparring about Newman Media and Nate smugly tells him that his plans will never come off.
At the ranch, Victor videocalls Jill and they talk about the celebration of Neil that she missed.
He adds that he’s offered Sally a permanent job and already hired a firm to do the work that Sally was contracted to do for Chancellor-Winters.
Jill thought she didn’t trust Spectra and reminds him of the carny dossier he assembled.
He wants to keep her closer to the family.
Later, Nate arrives and Victor urges him not to get too comfortable in the big chair while Nikki and Victoria are away.
He admires his ambition and trusts him more than Nick does.
He makes it clear that Newman will never be run by anyone but a Newman.
He suggests he “disabuse” himself of any fantasies that he could one day be in control. “That ain’t gonna happen,” he says.

Nate goes to the Newman office, smiling, unbuttoning his jacket, and stroking the big desk.
“Trying it on for size?” Nick asks as he interrupts.
Nate explains Victoria is out of town and he’s filling in. He’s tired of Nick’s constant attacks and asks what will knock the chip off his shoulder.
Nick says his rise has been at his expense.
Nate suspects he’s taking his distance from his own family out on him. His lack of ambition has landed him where he is.
Nate tells him to leave him alone to do the job Victor and Victoria expect him to do.
Sally wanders into Crimson Lights.
She and Adam have some small talk about her trip to see Coco and Grams.
He admits he dropped by last night but realized she didn’t want to see him.
She claims she wasn’t avoiding him and asks why he came by.
Sitting down, Adam explains he lashed out at Chance and went to her hoping she would calm him down. Old habits die hard.
She gives him props for realizing that and leaving her alone.
Spectra explains that she got the chance to talk about everything with her family. Coco and Grams thought she should be less harsh with him and she now agrees.
They both lost something when Ava died.
He’s happy to hear that. She points out he has a new opportunity in his life but he is still looking for trouble. Why?
He wishes he knew. But Nick and Sharon are there to keep him on the straight and narrow. She thinks he should try that.
Adam pushes her to admit she loves Nick. She doesn’t say it, just that she has “affection” for him.
He’s happy that she’s talking to him at all and doesn’t want to veer off the path to friendship.
Sally says they have a long way to go. She adds that Victor is changing his position about her and offered her a job at Newman.
He assumes that his father has nefarious motives. Nick shows up and Sally informs the brothers that she has decided to give their father the benefit of the doubt about his offer.
She thinks it could be great for her career.
At the Abbott estate, Diane tells Jack and Billy that they need to lure Ashley and Tucker into a false sense of security.
They should have a huge public fight. That will convince them Billy can be an ally. He can get inside the new company and destroy it.
Jack doesn’t like putting his brother in this situation after he’s turned his life around.
Billy doesn’t care about any stigma this could attract. This is about protecting the family company.
They’ve given their sister every chance to back down and she’s refused.
Jack won’t let Diane be a victim of a hate campaign. They agree to go ahead with this.
Billy points out that he really just has to sell the idea that he objects to Diane.
He can feed Ashley and Tucker false information.
Jack asks him to promise not to get taken in by promises of power.
Billy asks why they are having this conversation if he can’t trust him.
Jack is apologetic and insists he has faith in him. Diane stops the brothers from bickering. They agree to the plan. Billy will be in touch when he’s figured out when and where to make their public display of anger.
Once Billy is gone, Jack pours a drink and Diane tells him how excited Harrison is about their wedding.
She can see how things are weighing on Jack. He admits he’s still conflicting about fighting his sister. He hates this situation and what it’s doing to Diane.
Jack tells her what an inspiration she is. He loves her so much. They kiss. He gets an idea.
Jack suggests they go to the justice of the peace right now and get married, proving to everyone that nothing will bring them down.
Billy wanders into the GCAC and catches Nate getting off the phone with Victoria. They immediately start bickering about her.
Billy says he will always look out for the mother of his children and Nate says anyone who thinks she needs coddling doesn’t know her at all.
Nate heads back to the office and Audra stops by, impressed by how easily he’s taken over.
He says it comes naturally and then complains about Nick. He adds Victor made it clear he would never be CEO.
Nate plans to make himself indispensable to Victoria. She urges him to solidify things with her and take them to the next level.
