Canadian Y&R day ahead recap from the Thursday, April 15, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Friday, April 16. On today’s episode, Nikki finds Victor and Victoria arguing, Chelsea plants seeds of doubt in Rey’s head and Kyle and Summer announce they’re engaged.
At home, Chelsea video chats with Connor. He heard she was sick and is glad to see her. She assures she’s getting better and better daily and they’ll be able to see each other soon. “I can’t wait,” he says. He wants to talk to Dad too but she says he’s working with Grandpa today. He has to go since his class is starting so they say a bittersweet goodbye.

Victoria tells Nikki she thinks Victor’s letting Adam hang out at the ranch. Nikki hasn’t seen him but Victoria saw a rare brand of scotch Adam likes. Nikki doesn’t think it’s that surprising. Victoria thought she’d be shocked. Nikki says, “That’s your father.” He’d do the same thing for her. There’s no point in working herself up into a frenzy. Nikki has learned over the years what battles to pick and says this isn’t as black and white as she thinks. Adam saved Faith’s life. It counts for something.
Sharon wakes up alone. Rey arrives. He went to the gym. She’d like to talk but Rey says no. There’s too much pain. Nothing has changed for him. He’s still planning on leaving after Faith’s up on her feet. Faith arrives, ready for court. She apologizes again for what she’s done. Rey bought her a smoothie and tells her he has to work but he’ll be thinking of her. He’s proud of her. “You’re braver and a lot more responsible than some adults I know.” Sharon shoots him a look as if to say she knows he’s talking about her.

At Jabot, Kyle tells his dad that he and Summer are engaged. He doesn’t want to put his life on hold for Locke. They discuss Billy filling them in on rumors going around about the mistreatment of employees lenders, suppliers, and distributors. Locke must be behind it.
At Grand Phoenix, Summer tells her parents she and Kyle have gotten engaged again and getting married. They don’t react as she’d like and explain that the last time this happened, she bolted. She knows. She didn’t trust him but things have changed. Nick will talk to Kyle and get assurances so he can feel more comfortable. He has to pick up Faith for court. Summer moves to leave and Phyllis calls her one of the greatest things that has ever happened to her. She did what she did to Sally to protect her. “That’s the way it is. That’s never going to change.” Summer says just like her. She was worried Sally was a threat to her job but she realized her mother was. She’ll take time to move on from this. Phyllis asks if it’d help to know Jack ended things with Sally. “Can you thank me now?” Summer looks sheepish and thanks her mama.

Nick arrives at Sharon’s. They coach her on how to behave in court. Christine shows up. She does her own coaching. Nick tells his daughter to breathe. Faith relaxes a little. She thinks about going back to school after and assures them she can handle the stares she’ll get. They head to court.

Phyllis finds Jack at the club and they discuss Summer and Kyle’s engagement and Sally versus Summer. They agree Sally made mistakes and then Jack realizes he’s trying to defend Sally and stops himself. He’s happy she didn’t say, “I told you so.” She says, “Oh. I would never do that to you. Maybe I’m saving that for another day. Just wait.” In their room, Kyle and Summer share how things went when they told their parents about their engagement. Summer unbuttons her shirt and gets flirty as a call comes in for Kyle. “Do you have to get that?” She asks. He follows her into another room, smiling and they giggle as the screen on his phone shows that Tara’s calling. They run off to have sex in the shower and once they’re done, Tara calls back. She’s upset and says she and Ashland had a big argument. He tries to get it out of her but Harrison needs her. She’ll call back. Kyle relays the conversation to Summer.
Rey meets Victoria at Society. She tells him what she told Nikki. “Adam’s at the ranch,” Rey says. Victoria thinks it’s worth checking out. Rey agrees and takes off.
After court, Faith, Nick and Sharon go to Crimson Lights. Faith got a $500 fine and 100 hours of community services. They’re proud of how she behaved in court and she tells them she’s ready to go to school, even though the bullies will be there. “I’m going to hold my head up and face them.”
Rey arrives at the ranch and sees the bottle of scotch Victoria told him about. He confronts Victor, who says he hopes he does find his son. Rey tells him how harboring a fugitive is against the law. Victor all but rolls his eyes. He knows. Every Tom Dick and Harry knows that.” He urges the detective to talk to Chelsea and refuses to let him look around without a warrant. Victor laughs him out of the room, so Rey fights back and shares that his eldest daughter told him where to find Adam. Later, Victoria appears. Victor yells at her for telling the cop that her brother was there. Victoria reminds her of what Adam did, and that Victor always defends Adam over everyone else. She basically tells him he favors Adam until Victor yells at her that he defends all his kids. They argue loudly until Nikki appears to get between them. They tell her what’s going on and she asks them to relax. Victor tells her to stay out of it. “This is between me and your daughter.”He takes off and Nikki says that everything that happens in this family is her business.
Chelsea gets in her chair at home before Rey arrives. He tells her about the tip that Adam’s hiding at the ranch. He hasn’t seen him. She reveals she talked to Connor’s headmaster and is filing a restraining order. Rey notices how fast she’s recuperating. She apologizes for making that marriage crack before. She thinks their situations are similar. He denies that. Chelsea thought she had a future with Adam and a family. She claims she hopes he and Sharon can persevere through his. She continues to plant seeds of doubt.
At school, Faith says hello to Mark. He walks right by her. Someone dude asks where Jordan is. He then says was suspended because of her and calls Faith a loser. Moses appears. “Go ahead. Call her that again,” he challenges. Moses learns that Wayne is the guys’ name. He calls him by his name and tells him that it’s better than calling him what he should be called. A loser, or a wuss, or best yet, a “Mental jackass.” Moses tells him to step off and the guy takes off, quietly.
Rey returns home. Sharon tells him about how well court went. She wishes he was there. He tells her not to go there. He’s still leaving her. He tells her he searched the ranch for Adam. She’s surprised. She had no idea. Rey believes her. He gets a text and takes off.

At home, Sharon asks Rey if he’s leaving now. He says he can’t take it anymore.
Summer walks in on Kyle and Tara at their suite. “What’s going on?”
To Victor, Ashland says, The deal is off. Cyaxares is no longer on the market.” He clutches at his heart and sits down hard.
