In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Billy’s insomnia pays off, Victor and Nikki share romance, Ashland and Victoria have a setback and Adam and Sally talk business. In the previous episode, Gunshots rang out.

Adam walks into his office and sees a massive bouquet of roses and champagne. Sally strolls in and snaps at him, telling him this is completely unprofessional. She tells him that she’s there to find out about her role as COO.
Not to ask him to be his Valentine. Adam knows but if she didn’t do it, who did? She suggests Sally but he can’t see that. He opens the card. It’s from one of the advertisers. It’s a Valentine’s stunt. She finds the chocolate-covered strawberries and digs in.
He watches her bite into the strawberry and looks as though it’s affected him. They share a look and she smirks and sets the berry down. He clutches at his throat and they try to change the subject. She needs to know what Adam wants of her.
She has no idea of what her duties are. Does she have her own autonomy or does he want a yes woman. He values her point of view and likes to be challenged. He likes that she doesn’t hold back. He sees similarities between the media and the fashion business.
She knows how to attract people and she can shine. She doesn’t disagree and knows her way around a spreadsheet. Convincing people they want something is her superpower, she tells him. He admires her confidence but knows they’re under the watch of his dad and sister. Any false move and his sister will kick them both to the curb.
Ashland places bouquets of flowers around Victoria’s office. She approves. He wanted to show her what she means to him. She gifts him a ring. She researched his name and says it’s from a Scottish lord named Locke. She knows it’s not his given name.
Ashland’s moved and tells her he’ll cherish it forever. He hugs her and says there are a dozen reasons he doesn’t deserve her love but he is grateful for it her coming into his life. He gifts her a necklace and wants to celebrate the rest of the day. “Deal,” she says.
At the ranch, Victor ends a call with Michael, thanking him for going to Peru. Nikki questions what’s going on and Vic says Michael called from Peru.
He found more information out about Locke. Michael found out that the cash flow from Ashland’s shell company to his clinic in Peru doubled just before his treatment. Nikki doesn’t get why that’s suspicious. “I smell a rat,” Victor says.
Something about his story doesn’t add up. Nikki asks why he’s stirring things up today of all days.
She doesn’t think he knows what day it is. He knows. She asks him to take her to a romantic lunch. “I adore you,” he says but beforehand, he wants to take her to the stables. She asks what he’s done. He grins.

Amanda places a Valentine’s Day card on the table at the condo. Devon appears and she wishes him a happy Valentine’s Day. He feels bad. He forgot. She understands. A lot has been going on with Dominic. Devon talks about his worry about the child. Amanda holds him. She knows he’s in the best possible hands. Devon opens his card and tells her that he didn’t forget Valentine’s Day but he ordered her something too late. She doesn’t mind. She doesn’t need a grand gesture to show that he loves her. She feels it daily.
Back at the condo, Billy awakens to Lily touching him with a rose. They smooch. He tries to remove her shirt and she reminds him it’s a workday. “I’m trying to work,” he says.
She jumps up when there’s a knock. They let Devon in. He tells his sister that Dom had to get a bone marrow aspiration yesterday and they’re waiting on results. Billy and Lily offer to postpone but he needs the company right now. They discuss how to honor Katherine and Neil.
Devon has a streaming service and they have content. She suggests educational, inspirational podcasts. Devon likes the idea. Billy says he had insomnia recently and because of it, landed on something interesting.
The idea with the theme of bettering oneself. Each series is designed around physical and mental health. Devon likes it and can’t wait to get started. He gets a call and says it’s about Valentine’s Day. He takes off. Lily and Billy are glad something good came out of insomnia. They start making out again.
Ashland and Victoria stop by Nikki and Victor’s table at Society. Victor invites them to sit and they talk about the flowers and necklace, along with the ring. Victor finds it surprising since he has no family in Scotland. Victoria insists that’s not the point. Locke says it’s about the future, a symbol of the path forward he wasn’t sure he’d be able to take. They toast to his miraculous recovery. Nikki tells them about Sparks, her new horse that Victor bought her. He comes in the spring. Victoria canoodles with Ashland and Victor says it’s wonderful to see how much in love they “seem.” Victoria grins. Of course, they’re in love. Victor says her happiness means everything to him, as he stares at Locke.
Devon arrives at the condo with red and white roses that everyone in town has bought out. He has a few balloons and gives them to Amanda. She made him a nice dinner. She has flour on her nose and he kisses it off and then kisses her neck. She giggles as they kiss.
Back at the ranch, Nikki comments that he was riding Ashland through their lunch. Victor winds his watch as he listens. She reminds him of how disruptive the first time he dug into the man’s past. He reminds his wife he’s a chess player and moves ahead of everyone. She knows but has concerns and asks why he’s looking for trouble. He fixes his watchband and says he’s not but if something is going on with that clinic in Peru, he’ll find out about it. They begin dancing together.
At Newman Enterprises, Ashland mentions her father’s eagle eye trained on him through lunch. He admits that Victor questioned him about his experimental treatment. He says it seemed innocent at first but he knows better. He reveals the reason he know about the protocol was that a college was treated a few years ago for cancer. Victoria’s shocked. He admits he donated money when the company was in jeopardy.
Victoria’s shocked that he didn’t tell her this. He reveals he set up funding through a shell corporation when she comments that his name wasn’t anywhere. She gripes about him keeping this from him. “How could you?” He claims he was trying to protect her and guard her against the legal ramifications. He didn’t even know if the treatment would work. She calls his promises of no more secrets completely meaningless. He says he was trying to protect the company. She calls that a weak excuse. Ashland confesses he loves her and owes her his life. He hates that he has to tell her this today. She doesn’t think it’s fair that he withheld this. She’s glad he’s doing better. He is. He has something to live for. She smiles. They sit on the sofa for a bit and finally, Victoria reaches for Ashland’s hand and gives him a half-smile.
Back at Newman Media, Adam and Sally have champagne. He toasts to her growing success. She thanks him for taking a risk on her. She knows she’s not the logical choice. “It goes both ways,” he says. She toasts to them both and they look into each other’s eyes.
