The Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for the Tuesday, August 23, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Wednesday, August 25. In the previous episode, Billy uncovered Ashland’s secret. In this episode, Stitch has a clue about Mariah’s whereabouts, and Moses and Faith get closer.
In her unknown location, Mariah gasps in pain as she realizes she must be having Braxton Hicks contractions. It’s too soon to go into labour. She tells the baby it isn’t time yet, but begins to sweat and rips off the towel from the camera and tells her kidnapper she needs to be in a hospital if her contractions are real. “I need a doctor!” She begs and screams at them.
At the Chancellor mansion, they discuss the clues that Stitch got and Abby tries to get Sharon to call Rey. She won’t and Devon asks Stitch what he was doing at the convenience store where he saw the guy buying up the protein bars when he’s staying at the GCAC. Stitch looks surprised by the question. He says it was out of his way. He walked there from the park last time he saw Abby and he went for some power bars. Devon again finds that suspicious that he went the same time as the other guy. Abby, meanwhile, can’t stop touting how amazing Stitch is to have provided such a terrific lead. Sharon and Tessa go for a drink in the kitchen, while Devon goes to make a call. Devon returns and hides while he eavesdrops. Stitch says he has to go. Abby heads to the kitchen while Devon appears. Stitch asks him to call if Abby needs him. He goes and the women return when Rey turns up. Chief Williams gave him the okay to set up someone at the store while they wait to see the footage from the day the man bought the protein bars. Sharon and Tessa go to Mariah’s room to feel closer to her while Devon shares his suspicions about Stitch with Abby. “You don’t believe that Ben’s telling the truth?” She asks. Devon tells her to look at everything that’s happened. He’s gone out of his way to be a shoulder for her to lean on while her husband’s out of town. Maybe he wants to rekindle of what they have by taking advantage of her pain and fear.

At Society, Gloria realizes she was aggressive last they met. Kevin and Chloe appear and Glo tries to get rid of them. They’re in the midst of a business meeting. They head to a table and Kevin explains that Glo wants to take over JCV. Chloe thinks her mother-in-law has chutzpa. She laughs. It makes sense. She reveals Glo was trying to pump Sally for the younger demographic. At the sofas, Lauren asks why Glo’s the best candidate for the job. She says she’ll follow trends, make intelligent decisions followed by quick action. Lauren asks if she thinks she understands the targeted demographic. “Absolutely,” Glo says. They’re ambitious and demand work/life balance and care about the world around them. Their clothes will be socially conscious and environmentally friendly, like them. She’ll use inclusive marketing strategies. Lauren admits she can see Glo has done her homework. Lauren’s impressed. Chloe eavesdrops. Lauren asks what at JVC could be improved upon. Glo says accessories. People may not be able to buy the JVC line but they can afford accessories. Lauren nods. Other candidates have been tripped up by that question. Lauren gives her the job — temporarily. Glo’s thrilled. She goes and Lauren appears. Chloe likes the idea of Glo being hired. Kevin hopes she can do her job without driving Lauren crazy. Lauren is concerned for Chloe for hiring Sally. What if she made the same mistake? Chloe has her eyes wide open. Lauren goes and Chloe begins to doubt how things will turn out at Newman Media with Sally. Kevin talks her down. They agree personal and professional lives are separate. Kevin gets a text from Rey who has a lead on Mariah and rushes off.

Phyllis checks in on Jack who is back from Milan. She thanks him for bringing her gift to Summer and Jack tells her how great the kids are doing. “Great,” Phyllis says with a sigh, hand on one hip. She just wants her daughter home. Jack tells her this isn’t a loss. He can fly to see Kyle anytime. Phyllis argues that it’s not the same. Jack gives. He admits this is much harder than he’s saying but they won’t sit and wallow. She wants him to wallow with her but he laughs and refuses. “Come with me,” he says, extending his hand.

At the ranch, Victor tells his son there’s no lead on Mariah. Nikki says they’re doing all they can to ensure Nick’s kid come home safe. Victor reveals they’ve come up with information on Ashland that seems interesting. He tells her Ash bought the two news stations from a woman. Those approached were reluctant to talk about the relationship between Ash and the woman. Nick thinks it sounds like a non-issue since the PI found it fast. Nikki thinks they should accept he has no skeletons in his closet, but Victor’s still going on with it. “It’s almost as if you’re hoping to find something. Is that what this is? You’re hoping to destroy Victoria’s marriage?” That isn’t what The Mustache wants. He wants his kid to be happy.
At Victoria’s house, Ash gets off a call after he tells someone he’ll deal with it. Victoria questions him. He says he spoke with a retiree from one of his news stations who got a call from a reporter who tracked him down. Victoria assumes it was from Billy, or his dad digging dirt on him. Ash admits when he was young, he worked for an older woman who mentored him. Her husband owned two news stations. When she died, Ash bought the stations from her. It began his empire. Vic appreciates him telling the truth. She asks if they were lovers and he denies it.

At the park, Phyllis asks Jack to buy Marchetti and move their office here. He laughs and Sally watches the exchange from the treed area. She goes to say hello and has words with Phyllis who doesn’t want her there. Jack suggests Sally move along, and looks at Phyllis, pissed. She apologizes. He wishes they could rise above. Red agrees to try not to let Red 2.0 get to her.
At Crimson Lights, Sally sees Nick leaving a message for Phyllis. Sally shares that she ran into her with Jack, “Where she always is lately.” She goes off.
Victoria Visits victor to ask if he’s investigating her man. He doesn’t deny it. She asks him to leave it be.
At his place, Rey and Devon look at the footage from the convenience store.
