In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Diane wants to see her grandson, Phyllis claims she isn’t jealous, and Nikki goes off on Diane in public, causing a fight. In the previous episode, Elena was jealous of Imani, and Imani and Amanda received bad news.

Traci sees Diane in the park looking for Harrison. Traci says he’s doing another activity today. Diane talks about Summer’s bond with Harrison and Traci explains that she’s filled a void in his heart since he misses his biological daughter. Traci says Diane has years to get used to faking her own death and everyone else’s old wounds are open.
She advises her to be patient. As they talk, Diane gets emotional. She knows she isn’t entitled to forgiveness. She just wants to be there for Kyle now, the way she should have been all along. Diane fishes for information and Traci says Kyle’s torn and needs time to process his feelings.
Diane calls him serious and thoughtful. They agree he’ll take time. With his wife and son, he needs to take everything into account. Traci thinks she should take solace in the amazing young man he’s turned out to be. Diane thanks her for taking the time to talk. Traci takes off.
At Grand Phoenix, Phyllis is angry when Summer says Diane came to the park to see Harrison. She’s angry and knows this will piss Jack off. She says Diane cuts through all boundaries. Summer’s surprised until Phyllis admits she’s with Jack. “You’re sleeping with my father-in-law?” Summer asks.
Phyllis refuses to discuss it but Summer knows he’ll be careful with her heart. Phyllis admits he will and they’re taking it slow. She says the general public has no idea. Summer assumes that she doesn’t want people dredging up her past. Phyllis says she’s a different woman and Jack trusts her.
Talk turns to Diane again and though Summer says Diane was on her best behavior and that Kyle was happy about it, Phyllis thinks she was putting on an act. Summer starts to wonder if she’s worried Diane’s a threat to her relationship with Jack. Phyllis tries to deny it. She calls Diane a horrible woman but a genius at psychological warfare. Summer calls her a genius at that, too.
Phyllis knows how devious she’ll be with Kyle and Jack, who is already doubting his instincts. He already wonders if she’s changed. Phyllis starts to cry. She can’t go through this again. Summer says she’s sabotaging herself. She wonders if her mom dove back into this romance out of jealousy. Phyllis denies that.
“Why does everyone think that?” She says Amanda insinuated the same thing but they’re wrong. She’d never use Jack to get back at Diane. They discuss Marchetti but Summer’s cryptic and talk turns to explain “this whole Ashland thing to him.”
Phyllis is confused but knows something is going on since he’s staying at the hotel. Summer tells her Ashland lied about cancer. “It was all a hoax.” Phyllis shrugs and smiles. She isn’t surprised in the least and asks how Victoria is. Summer says she covered when they saw her at the park but she must be in a state.
Phyllis thinks she must be thinking of how many told her not to believe in him. Summer eyes her mother and hopes she’s not enjoying this. Hand to heart, Phyllis denies that. It has to be painful. She asks how Nick’s taking it. Summer says they didn’t discuss it. Phyllis hopes her kid isn’t going to be manipulated by Diane. Summer refuses to let “that total narcissist hurt my little boy” the way she did her husband.
Kyle arrives home. Harrison’s with kids and the nanny and he says Summer’s with her mama. They’re glad he’s keeping Phyllis company. Jack brushes it off but Kyle saw the dynamic between them. He knows his dad was away late that night of the wedding. Jack refuses to say anything and Kyle grins.
He knows that means they were together. Jack says they’re testing the waters and Kyle leans in. “Ooh is that what the kids are calling it these days?” Jack asks his son not to read much into it. “Who knows where it’s going?” Kyle asks if there are issues already but Jack likes how it’s going.
He wonders how much of a coincidence it is that it happened when Diane walked back into their lives. He’s struck by the timing and says there’s contention between them. Phyllis wants her out of town. Soon. He wonders if Phyllis is subconsciously telling her not to think about resuming things with them.
“You don’t think that’s why Phyllis spend the night with you?” Jack furrows his brow and denies that. He knows how Phyllis feels about him. Kyle admits sometimes he thinks his mother is sincere and other times he’s not sure. Jack thinks he’s trying to justify giving her another chance. Traci appears and tells them she saw Diane. Jack is worried and reminds his son about who she is.

At Society, Nikki and Victoria tell Victor that things are being handled while they’re in Switzerland. Victoria doesn’t want him bringing Adam in. Nikki interrupts since she knows Victor feels it’s good they’re going away. Especially to be away from that dark cloud that is Ashland Locke.
As soon as his name is mentioned, Locke strolls into the bar. It’s awkward. Nikki tells him to stroll on by but Victoria asks to leave them alone, while Victoria reminds the man he paid him a lot of money.
Nikki brings up their trip and he asks how long she’ll be gone. Victoria hasn’t decided yet but doesn’t think it should matter to him. They go and Victor tells the man there’s no reason to show his face around Genoa City anymore. Ashland wants to apologize.
Victor thinks it’ll be entertaining, and invites Ash to sit. The man says what he did to Victoria was despicable. He’ll regret it to his dying day. She’s the best thing that ever happened to him and because of his greed and arrogance, he may have lost her. “You did lose her,” Victor says.
What he did was unforgivable. He calls Locke pathetic and says his daughter’s sick of his glib apologies. Locke thinks they still have similar backgrounds. His abusive father and starting out from nothing was true. He only lied about having cancer.
Victor shakes his head. Locke compares himself to Victor and reminds him his family forgave him a lot. Victor tells him to stop comparing them. Locke says Victoria still loves him. Victor denies it. “Past tense! You lied to her.” He tells Locke to get out of town.
He’ll do everything in his power to protect his family. He tells Locke not to push him to that point.
Nikki finds Diane at Crimson Lights. She strolls over, lips pursed, and asks why Diane’s still in town. “What’s the matter? Is your broomstick in for repairs?” They argue about whether Diane’s there to see Kyle or his large bank account. Diane glares at Nikki.
She knows she has a lot to make up for. She starts yelling about her stealing a corpse and framing her for murder. She brings up Kyle and Diane asks her to leave him out of it. She calls her a gold digger. Diane says she isn’t.
Nikki thinks her son will tell her that he was better off when he thought she was dead, causing Diane to slap Nikki across the face.
Nikki in turn smacks the taste out of Diane’s mouth. They continue the argument and Victoria appears. The women start beating on each other and Victoria pulls her mother off. Her eyes widen at seeing Diane. “How is this possible?” she asks.
Diane gets into faking her death and says she’s followed Victoria’s career but Victoria has no interest in this discussion. She drags her mom out of the cafe, screaming that she was better off dead, while Victor appears at the door.
