In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Chelsea has news for Rey, Noah has a plan for the wedding, and Diane makes a call. In the previous episode, Adam let Ashland hack his computer and Michael found grounds to nullify Locke’s contract.

Mariah’s family joins her at Crimson Lights for an announcement. They have to wait for Tessa to arrive so she can make it.
Everyone notices something that seems off with Nick because he’s not making bad jokes. He insists things are fine and cracks a joke. “Why did the football coach go to the bank? So he could get his quarterback!” Tessa bustles in as the guffaws end.
Taking her hand, Mariah announces they have set a wedding date. It will be May 13. That shocks Sharon, who thought it would be next year.
Her daughter explains Tessa is going on tour so they wanted to get married before she leaves.
Rey points out it will be Friday the 13th. Sharon hopes the wedding won’t involve hockey masks and machetes.
Mariah says getting married on that day is fearless.
Faith says this sounds like a really bad idea. Mariah and Tessa try to give it a more positive gloss but Nick says that choosing a day that will give people the “heebie-jeebies” might be questionable.
Noah thinks it’s a great idea. Sharon just wants what’s best for them. The couple insists they just want the people who matter to them to celebrate.
Noah says by the time they are done, Friday the 13th will symbolize love. He’s already made plans for the wedding to be in 70s glam style and shows them his sketches. The brides-to-be are thrilled.
Faith doesn’t understand what they are talking about. Nick makes it clear he isn’t dressing up as Ziggy Stardust.
“We have a date and a plan. We are really getting married,” excited Mariah says, kissing Tessa.
They discuss plans for the reception and Sharon reminds Nick of the 70s themed party at his frat. Rey starts to look uncomfortable as they get nostalgic.
Chelsea shows up, needing to speak to Rey.
Chelsea apologizes for intruding. They tell her she’s welcome to stay and she reminds them she used to have a bridal line if they need help.
When she walks out, Rey follows her to the patio.
Chelsea informs Rey that her business meeting got postponed so she can go to the hockey game with Connor.
She also got an extra ticket so the three of them can go together.
Rey doesn’t want to be a third wheel. She insists he won’t be and Connor wants to watch the game with him.
Looking back at Nick and Sharon chatting, Rey tells Chelsea he’d be happy to go with her.
Mariah asks Sharon if she has doubts about this wedding. Sharon doesn’t. Mariah wonders if she expected her to wear one of her dresses.
She makes it clear that she wants this wedding to be personal.

At her new house in LA, Diane looks at Kyle’s number on a piece of paper. Sitting down, she considers calling.
Flashing back to her fight with Jack over her returning to Kyle’s life and her conversation with Allie about failing her son, she thinks about calling Allie and stares.
At the cafe in LA, Jack is eager for news from Kyle about when he will fly to Genoa City. He worries he may have to jet off to Italy to tell his son about Diane himself.
Phyllis warns him about what a loose cannon Diane is.
Allie awkwardly shows up. When she joins them, Jack brags about how great she is. She says her dad used to brag the same way. Jack is glad they’ve gotten to know each other but senses something is wrong.
“There’s something I think you should know,” Allie says. She admits she went to see Diane. She hasn’t forgotten how Diane used her but wanted some answers.
Diane didn’t say anything negative about the Abbotts and mostly talked about Kyle.
Jack is looking forward to meeting his son sometime. Allie would like that. He would be thrilled to fly her to Genoa City to meet him and the rest of the family.
Allie says that might work. It depends on school. Phyllis asks what else she discussed with Diane and tells her she was wise not to tell her much about her life. Allie doesn’t understand how Diane could seem so kind while being manipulative.
After her talk with Diane, things made more sense. She’s sure Diane loves her son deeply. Jack has to restrain Phyllis from going on a rant.
Allie explains that Diane’s connection to her family really spoke to her. Losing her father left a void in her life.
That’s why she’s been trying to connect with the Abbotts. Jack is grateful for that.
She wonders how they would be if they’d met when Keemo was still alive. Isn’t Diane asking for the same thing as Jack is?
Jack says that he’s fallen for Diane’s pleas before. Ultimately you find out that it’s all about her. Allie wonders if she has changed and suggests she deserves the benefit of the doubt.
Jack admires her optimism but explains that Kyle will have to be the person who decides whether to let Diane into his life. He’s invited him back to town to explain the situation to him.
Kyle has spent a lot of time dealing with his mother’s death. He admits that it would be hard for him to ever forgive her and believe she is a changed woman. “That woman is dead to me!” Phyllis adds.
Allie can see they are upset but still doesn’t have a full view of this. Phyllis asks if Diane has turned to her for help.
Allie insists that she was not manipulated. She just thinks Diane really wants to do better.
She has to get back to class and will be busy for the next week. Jack probably has to get back to Genoa City. He repeats his offer to fly her to town. She appreciates but has to think about it.
“Are you guys together?” Allie asks them. They look around awkwardly. She senses an incredible closeness between them. They say they have a strong friendship.
Allie gets a text from Diane asking her to meet. Phyllis gives her another warning. Jack urges her to proceed with caution.
Allie sends Diane a text turning her down. After she thanks Jack, he tells her he’s only a phone call away.
Jack nearly cries when Allie hugs him. Once she walks away, he curses Diane. He told her to stay away from his granddaughter.
Phyllis says no one tells Diane what to do. “Wanna bet?” Jack challenges.
Jack and Phyllis show up on Diane’s doorstep. They barge in and the three of them bicker. Diane insists she only answered questions about the Abbotts and did so in the most positive way possible.
Jack doesn’t think she’s done anything out of the goodness of her soul and wonders what she wants. Diane says that Allie is smart and kind and he should trust her to make her own decisions. “You stay away from Allie!” Jack demands.
Diane doesn’t see why he’s so angry. She wonders if he will go back on his word regarding Kyle. He explains that he’s already called their son back to town and will tell him everything.
It will be up to Kyle whether to reach out to her or not. Diane hopes he will give her the chance to explain. Phyllis gets snarky. Diane says Kyle has forgiveness in his heart, like his father.
Jack doesn’t want his son’s heart broken. Sadly, that’s all Diane is capable of. They walk out. Diane shakes her head.
Back at the cafe, Phyllis tells Jack how well he handled Jack. He says it’s time to go home. She says they have had a productive trip and he should have lots of chances to bond with Allie.
He thanks her for being so supportive. She’s been happy to do it. Phyllis doesn’t think anyone should have to deal with Diane alone. They need to discuss how to tell people how Diane is alive given half the population of Genoa City wanted to kill her.
Back at her place, Diane calls an airline to buy a ticket to Genoa City.
