In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Sharon wrangles Nick’s help in planning the wedding, as Ashland has second thoughts about the plan. In the previous episode, Diane decides to travel to Genoa City and Noah had a plan for the brides’ wedding.

Adam and Victor are at odds in his office as Adam tells his father he worries about his son getting caught up in this Ashland situation. Victor wants Adam to plant evidence against himself on his computer and catch Ashland red-handed which will give Victor reason to nullify his contract.
“He’ll be out.” Adam thinks it sounds simple.
Vic says his daughter will be free of the man and Adam will go unscathed. He asks if his son is having second thoughts. He’s not but he’s tired of being the black sheep and thinks his sister’s idea has flaws.
She was inspired by the plan to trick Adam. It was a scheme so weak that when she found to about it, she shut it down. The entire thing hinges on Ashland planting something and he didn’t do it.
Maybe he’s on to them. Victor says the man’s days are numbered. He should stop worrying about Newman-Locke. He’ll return to Newman Media once this is over.
Later, Sally drops in. They discuss the meeting and she wishes she was there so she could have helped him tell his father about his convoluted plan issues. Adam says he did that. He’s always the disposable one. Sally reminds him Nick’s on his side. “Buy your time. Play along,” she says.
He can show his father what he can do. Adam says their plan may have already backfired. He’ll never be seen as the heir Victoria already is. He’s tried so hard to be someone Connor can look up to.
Sally admits he was more forgiving of Chelsea than she would have been. He tried hard. The old Adam wouldn’t have done any of this. He was finally at a place where his family was accepting him, where he didn’t have to lie and cheat to get what he wanted.
All he got was to be bait, thrown under the bus. He wonders what the point is of being the good guy. She gives him one of her pep talks and he thanks her.
He sounds like an insensitive jerk, knowing she’s fought for everything she wanted. He asks if she forgives him for his pity party. She thinks he’s lucky to have her. He laughs.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon tells Nick that she can see the wedding invitations. The brides will stand under a ladder on Friday the 13th. She’s glad it’s not this month at least.
Nick thinks she has time to work on it. She’s concerned that they won’t have time. They need daily meetings from now until the meeting.

Nick doesn’t have an issue with the date and so she makes him help by scouring the mid-west for 70s decor. She notices that Nick’s distant.
His mind is on his sister and ripping Locke apart. He worries that her plan makes her complicit and seems like she’s crossing a line. Sharon starts to worry that Ashland will attack if he finds out what’s going on.
In her office, Victoria asks Ashland how he’s feeling. She’s concerned about him after his most recent spell. He’s talking about their trip to Tuscany.
He was looking forward to being with her but knows it’s a better idea to stay in Genoa City. He thinks he can see the toll this has taken on her. He admits it’s wearing on him, too.
She knows Italy’s so beautiful this time of year. They talk about going after they have cleared Ashland’s name. He looks at her sadly and she asks if there’s something he has to tell her.
He just feels bad at all she’s done for him. He worries that one day it could fall away. She assures him it won’t but he can’t get it out of his mind that she could have walked away from him.
She asks if he’s doubting their plan. He’s not. He wonders if they’re going about it the right way and confesses he hacked Adam’s computer. She feigns innocence and asks what he found. He says nothing.
She thinks Adam’s too smart for that and that they should dig deeper. He’s not sure he wants to. He didn’t like behaving like a criminal. She thinks this will all make them stronger.
Ash says they have to plant evidence to make the plan work. “Do you understand that?” They’re about to embark on a scheme to defraud, just like his family is accusing him of.
She’s never been in on something this way. “Sometimes you have to bend the rules,” she says. He asks why she’s suddenly willing to do this. She turns away and then says she’d feel bad if Adam was innocent.
She tells him that he conspired against her a few times. She’ll never believe he has changed. Locke feigns concern that they could be wrong about him. He thinks they should walk away and start a new empire.
She’s all that matters to him. “Us, our love.” He never believed he could feel this intensely about anyone. He’ll protect her the best way he can. He asks her to think about it. She covers her face and smiles. He kisses her cheek and says he’s off to rest at home.
Nikki arrives and Victoria shares what happened with Locke. Nikki’s shocked to hear that Ashland doesn’t want to drag her into it. “I had to practically beg him to do it.”
Nikki can’t believe how manipulative he is. Victoria admits he’s never sounded so sincere. Nikki’s mouth drops open in shock. She yells that Locke is a con man.
Victoria admits he asked her if she’d be willing to walk away and start fresh. Nikki says she thinks he’s suspicious and was testing her. Victoria goes silent. Nikki asks if she was tempted. Victoria says nothing and Nikki presses her for an answer.
Ashland finds Nick with Sharon at Crimson Lights. Nick takes off after Ashland says hello. Locke guesses she knows about him falling out of the Newmans good graces and asks if he can still get a coffee.
She’ll get him one but she doesn’t like how he faked having cancer. He’s sorry that she went through having cancer. He claims he’s not guilty. She wants to give him the benefit of the doubt. Adam and Sally walk in.
Sharon tells Locke green tea works on those who are sick and then jokes that she knows he’s not. He plans on exonerating himself. She goes and Adam approaches Locke alone. Locke warns Adam not to get too comfortable.
The title and power will be gone in a flash. Adam offers him 500 million dollars to walk away and start over, elsewhere. Alone. Today.
Nick walks into Victoria’s office at Newman. He admits he is conflicted with this plan. Victoria says Ashland is too. Nikki asks Victoria if there’s a part of her that is in love with her husband, despite everything and Victoria stares off.
