Canadian Y&R day ahead recap for Monday, December 13, 2021 episode, which airs in the USA Tuesday, December 14. (Recaps live by 5:45 PM EST daily.) In the previous episode, Chance made an admission to Devon. In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Chelsea returns to Genoa City, Ashland has a secret from Victoria, Nate asks Elena to move in and Victoria has a feeling about her ex.
At their condo, Lily talks with Billy about her ideas of modernizing Chancellor Industries. She barely slept, she says but she doesn’t mind. He likes her enthusiasm. She’s now prepared to rise for the challenge. She calls Jill traditional and conservative. Billy knows that’s true. He loves to see Lily shine.
She wishes he’d reconsider working with her. They could accomplish so much together. In time…she trails off. He smiles at her. A part of him wants to get in the trenches with her. He’ll support her. They languish in each other’s arms and he tells her he’s all hers. “I know, and I’m yours,” she says. He’s proud of her. His plan he put into motion with Victor and Adam is his prime focus.
Adam works at the Newman Media office when someone sends him a video of Billy that makes Adam smile. Victor appears and they discuss Noah’s freelance work. Victor thinks there’s a lot of good things in store for Newman Media. Adam tells him about the unsolicited candid footage of Billy drinking alone. Victor peeks at it and smirks. He saw it in person.
Adam is surprised he came apart at the seems so fast. Victor says he’s always been a loser. It’s no surprise to him or Victoria, “considering what she’s about to do.” They discuss her sending the kids to boarding school. Neither like it but think it’s best.
What’s happening now is just the beginning. He’s drinking and soon, Victor knows the gambling will begin. Adam thinks Billy needs to be put in his place. Vic’s afraid his son is right. They wonder who sent the video and hope that they’re not going to blackmail. Vic goes to a meeting and Adam texts the person to ask who they are and what they want. They don’t want anything and just want to help, they let him know.
Victoria eavesdrops on Ashland who is on a call. He tells him it’s imperative that he should call him on this line, not at the office. Victoria asks what needs to be handled with the utmost of discretion. He says nothing and she reminds him she’s his wife and partner. Surely he can tell her.
“I’m afraid I can’t,” he admits. She has nothing to fear. He imagines her mind went to the time he lied about making payments on a wedding gift when he was in fact paying off Gaines’ blackmail.
Victoria trusts Ashland. He’s grateful for that. He senses curiosity. He says he made arrangements for a present. She gets excited and asks if it can fit under the Christmas tree. He tells her nothing. He tells her she’s beautiful but he’s not talking. He kisses her. He feels happy and strong and thinks it’s owed to the new treatment. She needs to talk to Billy about sending the kids to boarding school. He won’t like that she credits him for this.

At Crimson Lights, Chelsea appears to Chloe and asks what she missed. Her friend smiles brightly. They embrace and Chelsea says she’s home for good. “Well, for now.” They missed each other. Chelsea’s feeling like a million bucks. She hasn’t told Adam yet. When she mentioned coming home, he cut her off and changed the topic.
Chloe tells her about the big war between Adam and Billy. Chloe tells her about how great Sally is but Chelsea’s too excited to see Connor. Chloe asks her to swing by the office and sign with Adam. Chelsea brushes that off. “My son comes first.”
Billy arrives at Crimson Lights and watches a blonde woman in a hat sit. Victoria shows up. She asks how he is. He’ll feel better once he gets something better to drink. He talks about going gambling. He wouldn’t want to disappoint her. She’s worried he’ll fall into a dark place. “But that’s what I do, Vic,” he says. She hopes this is his anger talking. She tells him that she thinks it’s best for the kids to go to boarding school for a while. Billy asks if she’s already sent them.
Victoria’s been in contact with the school and says the children were accepted. She thought they could move forward on this together. There’s been so much drama and she wants to look out for the kids. She’s shocked when Billy tells him it’s a good idea. He’ll miss them and says he’ll call the school and ensure everything is in place. Victoria’s grateful. He tells her this is about the kids but doesn’t negate what happened between them with her involvement in the trap set for him. He thought she was better than that.
Later, Chloe and Lily run into each other. They catch up and Chloe congratulates her on CEO of Chancellor. Chelsea laughs, calling it complicated because of Billy. She assumes Billy’s freaking out and swearing vengeance. Chloe is curious about everything that went down but Lily says it’s not of her concern. Chloe’s not sure Billy’s found a way to let go of the past. She thinks maybe things are different because of Lily.
Chelsea arrives at the ranch. Nikki is surprised to see her and welcomes her. Chelsea’s excited to see Connor. Nikki knows he’ll be excited to see her. She asks how she’s been feeling emotionally. Chelsea sighs and knows why she’s concerned but all of her restrictions have been lifted. She’s completed her therapy and feels grounded. She was able to focus on healing. She says her doctor is on board with her returning. Nikki asks what her plans and expectations are. Chelsea has spoken with Adam about that and she calls it private.
Adam and Victor walk in on Chelsea telling Nikki that she and Adam have a lot to discuss. The guard alerted them, Adam says. She explains she’s there in peace. Victor and Nikki let them talk. Adam knows that their son will be happy to see her. He wishes she told him she was coming.
Chelsea tried. He’s sorry he didn’t make time for her. He’s been busy. She lets him know she heard about the war brewing between him and Billy. Adam calls it business but calls what’s going on with her more important. Seeing her in person is better, he says than their chats. She looks happy and confident.
Nate turns up at Newman Enterprises to see Ashland. Ashland tells Nate the good news that his cancer is no longer spreading. Nate’s happy to hear and thinks they should celebrate.
At Society, Ashland, Nate and Elena have lunch. Victoria arrives late. She apologizes and he snuggles close to her. Elena comments on how they’re such newlyweds. Ashland is grateful to have made it through his wedding, through Thanksgiving and says, “I’m closing in on Christmas with the love of my life.”
They kiss and discuss staying home for Christmas. Ashland hints that he plans on making this Christmas special. Victoria tells their friends that Ash has something up his sleeve. She questions Nate but he knows nothing. The doctors share that they’ll be working but they have the same days off together.
They take off and Victoria shares how things were “weird” with Billy when she told him about the kids. She calls it “profoundly disconcerting.” She thought he’d be disagreeable. Something is off. She thinks something is going on with him.
At Crimson Lights, Nate and Elena get coffee. He talks about her moving in with him and she’s shocked.
At home, Billy calls the boarding school to discuss his kids. He explains they’re Newman and Abbott’s and that there’s media coverage spotlighting them. He hopes they can keep the kids from the media. He thanks them for helping him protect them.
