Carter Accuses Katie of Judging Him When She's Had it so Good, While Ridge Throws Dollar Bill's Hit and Run in His Face

Bill goes to Brooke for her help with Katie. He thinks he may lose her for good. He needs to get her back but he thinks he’s out of chances. Ridge says, “Can’t really blame the woman. How can Katie trust you? You left a man dead on the side of the road.” Brooke chastises her husband lightly. Dollar Bill insists he’s changed.

At Carter’s loft, he tells Katie he thought he and Quinn had a future and that they’d run away together. He was in denial. It couldn’t have been love, otherwise, he thinks she’d be there with him and not Eric. He gets emotional as he tells her he’s alone again. He doesn’t think she gets it since she’s been married but with him, nobody sticks around. He finally thought he’d get what he was searching for. Katie looks glum. She thinks he asks for too much. Taking Zoe back and then getting with Quinn. He understands she’s telling him he’s looking for love in the wrong places and now he’s hurt those he cares for. He doesn’t know what to say. “You literally came here to judge me. You’re gonna judge me when you’ve had it so good.” Katie says, “Clearly you don’t know me at all.” She hasn’t had it so good. She shares what she went through with Bill constantly letting her down and her taking him back. She sobs as she explains that she isn’t sure why she tries to hang on to him. She asks if that’s what Carter wants. Carter has never had the kind of love he wants and didn’t realize what Katie’s been through. Love to her feels like she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. “Wondering if I’ll ever be enough. You love and then you lose,” she says, equating the two. “Love is loss.” She tells him, “We can’t all be Brooke Logan, right?” She’s the center of the universe for every man she’s been with. Carter wanted to do that for Zoe and more so for Quinn. He wants someone to care for him and fight for him. He guesses that woman doesn’t exist and apologizes for bringing up her marriage. At least she had a shot. He never got that. He doesn’t think she gets how lonely he is but she gets it. She can see he’s hurting and can realize what happened with Quinn shouldn’t have. She doesn’t like seeing him in pain and urges him not to give up on love. He laughs. After the way she described it? He describes what he wants and thinks his destiny is to be alone, while Katie thinks there is no such thing as destiny. Maybe it’s luck. She finally apologizes for barging in and judging him. “Forgiven,” he says.

Hope turns up at Thomas’ place. He’s shirtless and she’s looking for Douglas’ toy. She sees Paris’ clothes on the floor and whispers, “I’m sorry.” She assumes he has a woman in his bed. He tells her he’s alone ad the clothes are Paris’. She grins. He shares that things have escalated quickly. They’re living together now. Hope’s mind seems to go crazy with suspicions and her mouth drops open. When she asks, he tells her that Zende doesn’t have a problem with it. Hope asks if he’s so sure. She’d be bothered by it.

Zende and Paris kiss at his pad. He tells her tonight will be life-changing. She likes the life they live now, having an “awesome job, and a hot guy.” She wants to stay on this path. They drink wine from huge wine glasses. They get on his tablet and find the orphanage where he grew up. There’s a scholarship fund there in his name. “Don’t forget to write a review,” she says with a giggle. He’s amazed. He compliments her on making the world a better place and his the best it’s ever been. They make out and he undresses her. She nods, that this is what she wants. Off comes her jacket as she unbuttons his shirt. After sex, they bask in the afterglow.
