In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Jack makes a surprising decision, Noah talks with Allie about his past, while Chance has words of encouragement for Chelsea, who is having a rough day.
In the previous episode, Dominic celebrated his first birthday and Sally humiliated herself.

At Society, Abby tells Nick all about Dominic’s park birthday party. He’s sad to have missed it and she vows she’ll have another one soon for the family. He thinks it’ll be a while before things calm down with the Newman’s. She frowns. They sit and he tells her all about how upset he is that he killed Locke.
Abby thinks he did what needed to be done. It’s upsetting to her that he’s still tormenting them from the grave. Nick doesn’t think their dad’s tortured.
She knows but admits Chance is. She says they didn’t see eye to eye about what he did. Abby thinks standing by their family was the right thing to do but when she thanks Chance, it hits a nerve.
“Maybe don’t mention it,” Nick says. He has been there with Phyllis and asks her not to let this come between them. That’s what worries her. They embrace. She gives him some cookies for Christian and thanks him for listening to her concerns. He’ll be there for her day and night if she needs him.
At Dive Bar, Chelsea almost cries while talking to Connor on the phone.
Chance finds her and asks how she is. She admits she’s not having a great day. He gets it. He’s tried to mask his emotions but it doesn’t always work.
She tells him she and Abby are lucky to have each other.
He decides to sit and wait for his guest.
Celsea feels better after they chat and Chance talks about therapy.
Hers wasn’t as good, she admits. He tells her things don’t always work out the way they think they should.
You can waste time and get worked up about it or accept that it’s life. She talks about choosing one path and that it gets cut off sometimes. They talk in circles like this. Talk turns to their sons. Soon, his appointment shows up and he takes off with her watching.
She watches his meeting and his informant leaves and Chance returns to her to say goodbye. She asks who he was with and he can’t say but as of now, he closed Rey’s cases.
Chelsea tears up and calls it amazing. He chuckles but she thinks it’s a special tribute to him. They both miss Rey.

Allie and Noah wake up in each other’s arms. He wants to make a joke but knows his track record for lame jokes proceeds him.
She likes his lame jokes and kisses him. He can’t risk it. She decides to tickle it out of him. They snuggle and she asks what happened to his last relationship. She cracks her own lame joke and he gets quiet.
Allie asks him to open up about her but he doesn’t want to trash talk her. She’s still curious so he tells her they had a lot of miscommunication. He thought he loved her in the beginning but he looks back now and it was toxic and addictive. She can’t relate, so they let it go and make out.
They head downstairs later on and run into Traci. It’s awkward since it’s obvious what they were doing upstairs. Noah takes his leave and Allie and Traci laugh at her embarrassment. Traci assures her niece that if she read her book, she’d know she has nothing to be embarrassed about.
Traci’s happy for them. Allie admits she’s got trouble trusting. She thinks she should be cautious but Traci thinks she should just enjoy this. The lucky couples find a way to make this last a lifetime.
Some don’t, which means she should enjoy it while it lasts. Allie understands she needs to give herself permission to be happy. She admits she has kissed a lot of frogs but hasn’t had any good relationships. She hasn’t really dated much. Traci vouches for Noah.
Adam arrives at Jack’s office. Jack’s psyched and learns that Adam wants the job as co-CEO. “Welcome aboard,” Jack says.
He’s satisfied with the salary and Adam says luckily, the stars aligned. Adam will start tomorrow, but he does wonder how Jack’s family will react.
He doesn’t want to cause difficulties. Jack promises he has nothing to worry about. He’s already convinced most of them this is a good idea. Billy strolls in and sees the two together and says, “Oh God, you’re going to do this, aren’t you?”
Jack says he’s delighted. Billy thinks he could change his mind. Adam agrees if he has reservations… Jack interrupts and he calls this official.
He gets a call and the men file out. Billy has never trusted Adam and will be watching his every move. Adam doesn’t see how since Billy hasn’t worked here in years.
Billy thinks Adam destroys everything. Jack reappears and takes Adam out for a celebratory drink. Billy would rather have a root canal than join them so the men take off.
Jack and Adam arrive at Society and Jack tells Abby they’re celebrating.
Nick asks what and Adam reveals he has a new job at Jabot Cosmetics. Nick sighs and looks away.
Jack is glad to have a right-hand man. Nick asks if Adam knew about this earlier but Adam denies it. Jack admits he turned him down the first time he asked.
Abby’s skeptical but Jack thinks the company’s going to do well with Adam at the helm. Nick says Adam could have autonomy with Newman but Adam doesn’t think anyone really has that. It’s uncomfortable as Nick folds his arms over his chest and shakes his head.
At Crimson Lights, Chance tells Sharon the good news that Rey’s cases are closed. They chat about Rey and the good times when Nick turns up to talk with Chance. Sharon toddles off.
Nick tells Chance about Adam’s new job. Chance hopes he really wants a reset. Nick realizes his sister knows nothing about the vendetta. It backfired and now she knows since she was there with Adam. She’s concerned about Chance. Chance groans as Nick gives him a heads up. Later, Chance is gone and Noah shows up in a good mood. He tells his parents he’s falling in love.
Chelsea arrives home at the hotel and cries.
Chance spies on Abby outside Society until she comes to him. He apologizes to her for how he spoke with her earlier. She and Dom are the most important things in his life. Abby accepts his apology with a kiss.
Adam and Jack go back to Jabot. Jack looks for the contract for Adam and when he can’t find it, he leaves Adam to go get it. Adam makes himself at home behind the desk.
