In this episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Ashland admits the truth, and details why he did it and what changed in him, while Adam thinks Victoria will need time to adjust and Rey goes on his trip. In the previous episode, Victoria ended things with Ashland for good.

Ashland rushes into Victoria’s office to ask if she’s ready to go. She asks f he thought she’d actually run away with him after all he put her through.
Did he not believe it was the end for them? He’s confused. “I told you whatever I wanted to hear so that you’d sign everything away.”
Victoria wants out of their marriage and him out of the company. He shuts the door and looks aghast. She asks if he didn’t think the is was coming.
He admits there was confusion but he was overjoyed. He still thinks they can make this work. He tries to hold her and she flinches.
She reveals she’s been lying to him. Now he knows what it feels like. Betrayed and humiliated. She knows those feelings. She’s insulted that he thought she’d believe his BS. “Do you take me for an idiot, Ashland?”
He doesn’t but asks what he was supposed to do. Come clean that he lied and made a mistake? He didn’t think she woudl have forgiven him. He was stalling because he believed their love would win out and that they’d have a future. She’s shocked. After what he did to her that could never happen.
He has money and freedom. He cares nothing about that. He just cares about her. She calls him relentless in his commitment to this scam.
He played the dutiful husband to the end. He denies it’s a role. She demands he tell her how he used her. How he could sink to a low to lie about a disease that ruins lives. “I lied about having cancer,” he says. “Finally,” Victoria says.
Finally some honesty. He tells her this isn’t the whole truth. He found out his wife was cheating and Harrison wasn’t his. He was devastated and furious and saw an opportunity.
He channelled his righteous anger into her company. She asks how he could let Harrison down.
He did what he could to keep him out of it. “I took advantage of you. I worked an angle to win your love and your trust.” He agrees what he did was disgusting and selfish.
He reveals there was a time when he was proud of himself but then something else happened. “I honest to God fell in love with you.” She scoffs.
They’re empty words from a man who has no faith in anything but himself. He believes they can get past this. He’s never loved anyone as profoundly as he loves her.
He’ll be a lost man without direction if he walks out that door. Victoria has no sympathy for him. She reminds him he showed her who he was by stealing his dead friend’s identity and forging Camilla’s signature and taking over her company.
Once he leaves, she doesn’t care what happens to him. Locke doesn’t believe that. He deserves her scorn, outrage and hatred but he thinks she’s as conflicted as he is.
He asks her to leave family, Genoa City and start over. “I am starting over,” she tells him. Not with him. Ashland says he’s sorry.
He leaves and she turns over their photo and then pulls the portrait off the wall and smashes it over the building statue on her table. She takes off.

Jordi Vilasuso exiting Y&R as Rey
Rey comes up behind Sharon at work and kisses her. She jokes, “Mr. Anderson, I thought I told you not at work!” She turns around and they both act surprised.
They share a laugh and she notices his nice new jacket. He thanks her for letting him going with Chelsea. He knows it’s a little weird. A lot of wives would disapprove.
She calls Connor the most important thing. Connor and Chelsea stroll in. The guys fist bump and talk about their excitement while Chelsea calls herself a chaperone for them.
Sharon plasters a smile on her face. Sharon gets snacks together and Chelsea thanks her for lending them Rey. Sharon thinks it makes sense to stay in Chicago after.
It can get foggy this time of year. She wants her to bring Rey home safe and sound.
It’s awkward and she says she’ll watch her shows tonight. At the table, Rey and Connor bond over talk of hockey and Connor promises to teach Rey how to play.
Meanwhile, Chelsea asks if Sharon’s really okay with this trip. Sharon says she’s fine with it. She thinks it’s good for Rey.
Chelsea asks if she has issues with Rey being with her. Sharon clarifies that she’s asking if she has issues with her, “Given that you once poisoned him.” Sharon knows Chelsea’s doing better and seriously is fine with this.
Chelsea doesn’t think she deserves it. She’s glad they get along and calls it a relief. Chelsea agrees. She has nothing to worry about.
Connor gets anxious to go. Sharon gives Rey a lingering kiss and they profess their love before they head out. Rey realizes his tickets are in his other coat pocket. He heads home to quickly grab them.
In his office, Adam is grateful that Victor backed him up with Ashland. They clink glasses. They make a good team. Adam thinks Victoria would have loved seeing him squirm.
Victor says they should be happy to get rid of that fraud. Adam is and gives his sister credit for being so tough.
He knows she’ll need time to recover. He’s glad they now have complete control over Locke’s empire and their own. They’ve almost doubled their empire. “That’s a bargain.” They smile.
Nikki strolls in with Nick and Victor fills them in on how Ashland accepted their plan. He signed over every thing. Nikki thanks Adam. They ponder how Ashland will react when Victoria lets him in on their plan. Nick wants to keep an eye on Locke.
Nick, Nikki, Adam and Victor arrive, immediately worried when they find the portrait. Nick calls security and learns she left in her car. They worry.
From his office, Adam calls and tells Sally his plan worked great. When the dust settles, he’ll ask for more. They agree to meet to celebrate.
Nick visits Sharon at Crimson Lights. He fills her in on what’s going on.
Adam finds himself at Sally’s suite. He sees flower petals on her bed and champagne.
At Society, Nikki takes a call from Victoria who has called from her car, as she drives. Victoria’s beside herself, feeling humiliated. She wonders why she picks the wrong man all the time.
Nikki asks her to pull over and her and Dad will pick her up. Everything will be fine. Victoria denies that it’ll ever be fine again and a light comes toward her. She screams and swerves her car…
