In the Thursday, April 21, 2022, full episode recap of CBS’ Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke has a hard time understanding trauma so Ridge and Taylor explain it to her, and Liam brings Kelly to visit her mom.

Hope watches through the window of Steffy’s hospital room as Liam tells his ex that everything will be okay. She’s pretty fuzzy about getting shot. “I just need you with me,” she sobs. Liam promises everyone is doing all they can so she can get home.
Suddenly, Steffy remembers Kelly and asks to see her. Liam nods. She wants their family together and the three of them at home. He’s not sure that’s the best idea right now but agrees to get Kelly. He warns that she shouldn’t be rushing things.
When Liam exits, he tells Hope that Steffy seems to be repressing the memory of Finn and everything that goes with him. But he thinks that seeing Kelly could be a good thing for her. Hope says they all want what’s best for Steffy.
Liam thanks her for being so compassionate and hugs her before hurrying off. Hope stares into Steffy’s room. When she enters, Steffy is surprised to see her and even more surprised that she was worried about her.
Steffy just wants to go home to her little family with Liam. Hope knows she has a reputation for being fearless, but it’s okay to be scared and strong. “I have one important thing to tell you,” Hope says.
After Steffy admits she doesn’t remember anything about that night, it becomes clear she only recalls her family with Liam. “Your family is so much bigger than that,” Hope says, promising they will all support her.
When Steffy says Liam promised to be there for her, Hope tells her that her memories will come back and then she can truly move on. Liam arrives with Kelly (now played by Sophia Paras McKinlay). “You got so big!” Steffy blurts.
Liam explains that he told the little girl her mom wasn’t herself. He gives Hope a pained expression as Steffy goes on about reuniting with her family. Liam says Kelly has drawn lots of pictures for her. Steffy can’t wait to get home to see them.
Steffy tells Hope she wants some time alone with her daughter and husband. Uncomfortable, Hope walks out. Kelly cuddles with her mom and Steffy tells them how much she loves them. “I love you too,” he says, holding her hand as Hope watches them.

In the waiting room, Brooke says Steffy thinking she’s gone back in time is more than a memory problem. Taylor explains this is how she is coping because she can’t deal with Finn’s death. Sheila wishes she could forget it too.
Ridge and Taylor say Steffy is confused and fragile. Brooke worries about what letting her believe she is still married to Liam will come to. Ridge insists they need to let his daughter heal.
Brooke realizes that barging in and telling Steffy the truth would be bad but leaving her in a state of delusion isn’t great either. Taylor’s glad she managed to figure that out. This is a survival reaction.
Brooke is still concerned about her fixation on Liam. Ridge thinks this isn’t about him at all. It’s because of her love for Finn. Taylor adds she needed to find a safe place and that’s Liam.
Ridge asks Brooke to be patient so Steffy can heal. Taylor confirms her daughter’s memory loss seems to be psychological. Brooke thinks she’s just trapped in a fantasy.
The doctor says she has a deep connection with Liam. She wonders if Steffy has been repressing her true love for Liam.
Left alone, Sheila looks at a photo of her son on her on phone and flashes back to fighting with Steffy before she tried to kill her. Ridge pops up and suggests she leaves. As soon as Steffy remembers something, he will let her know.
Meanwhile, Brooke and Taylor continue to debate how Steffy is handling the situation. “This is crazy,” Brooke says. Taylor thinks she’s being crazy and it’s too soon and too dangerous for Steffy to know the truth.
Brooke tells her not to make this an issue and accuses her of using it to drive a wedge between Hope and Liam.
